I just finished episode 3, and I gotta say this drama kind of sucks. No likable characters.
Also, maybe it's because I'm American and desensitized to violence, but a couple of stabbings in a populated city would just be another Tuesday here. I don't even think a story like that would make the front page. It seems like such a big deal in this drama and although horrible, I just don't think the stakes are high enough to warrant 6 episodes centered around it.
Unpopular opinion, judging by the comment section here, but I think this was a bad drama. From the very toxic…
I agree and caricatures explains them perfectly. I thought this was a horribly written drama. Way over the top to the point of being cartoonish. And nothing can excuse the male lead's actions.
Romanticizing kidnapping and other problematic behaviors is the new "cute" these days, society's standards for…
Yup, I'm starting to see that. The bar is in hell. I guess nobody cares about how the fl is treated on here as long as the ml is some "hot bad boy. " I'm on beginning of 3rd episode and ml tied her up to a table and again it's written like it's supposed to be comical. I will finish this episode out, but most likely will drop this.
This dude is acting as if someone's forcing him to watch this drama with a gun pointed at him. If u detest it…
First of all don't call people a loser. Name-calling because of observations I made was uncalled for. If I was on here daily praising this show like many other posters up and down this comment section then there'd be no problem, right? I usually don't drop dramas, and will at least watch 3 episodes of this one.
Just finished 2nd episode and sigh... *Spoiler* Fl tried to escape several times and its made out like it's cute and funny. The tone is all wrong. I wonder if viewers would see how disturbing this plot is if the kidnapper was an unattractive older man and not handsome. This is the kind of storyline you'd see on Criminal Minds.
Smh, this entire comment section is exactly why i only visit twice a year. As a grown woman not prone to red flag…
But 99.9% of the comments are praising this show to the high heavens and agreeing with your take. Why does a couple of folks critiquing the problematic elements of this show bother you so much that you avoid coming on here??
People who rated JDramas 9-10 despite them featuring Abuse/SA/Sadistic MLs/Toxic ML and FLs/Forced romantic relationships/…
Here's the thing, it's not that a drama can't feature a toxic abusive relationship, because they sadly do exist. It's how the writer spins it. Is this abuse displayed as romance or comedy? If it is, than that's a problem. As you probably know this is more of a Kdrama problem (although there's been improvement over the years) since their dramas are often romance focused with comedic elements. Jdramas are usually not romances and don't jump genres. They tend to be slice of life/or realistic.
Edit: if fl had willingly went with ml and run away on her wedding than that would be different. Still problematic though. But ml literally knocked her out cold and kidnapped her. Like come on! How am I as a viewer supposed to feel anything for this character after that?
if I only had a few months to live , I’d probably not care about consequences, be a bit reckless,,,but yeah,…
Thing is ml was a jerk before he got the diagnosis. He's not likable from what I watched thus far and I'm not seeing how his character can be redeemed. I also don't see with such a disturbing start how this can be a good romance story. And wow, thanks for the heads up about the writer.
yeh this series is ridiculous. but because he is cute, it's popular... smh
That happens often on here, which is why I go into a drama not knowing what to expect. The lowest rated unpopular dramas can be great and not toxic while the popular ones can be like this. My issue is abuse of any kind should not be romanticized. How am I supposed to care about the ml dying when he's a horrible person. Even before his diagnosis, he dumped the fl cruelly.
yeah no this is kidnapping and weird as hell i am surprised at the ratings
Right, I'm shocked at the rating. I'm 2 episodes in and at the kidnapping part. I don't think I can continue, especially if this story spins this sh!t as romantic. Can never trust Kdrama ratings on this site istg.
I'm only on 2nd ep, and I'm hating the male lead. Kidnapping and knocking out fl unconscious at her wedding (even if it was by accident) ain't it. Seriously what the toxic hell is this?!
Only? Different? double digit episodes are not common in N-originals. It's one of the best of 2024.
I know, I was talking about Netflix series as well. Maybe it's a new thing, but this is the 1st show I've seen that's only 10 episodes. Can you suggest some other Korean titles that are less than 16 ep, because I often think 16 is too much.
