Twist was pretty crap, but the 4 girls stories were the best parts of the drama. I especially liked the very creepy horror filled 1st episode with the French doll girl and the disturbing sister bear one...Great standalone episodes.
I still watch it because well I watched drama and I'd like to finish this but it just doesn't get better. One…
I hate not finishing dramas myself, but some I just can tell will be a waste of my time. And this one I saw early on was setting itself up to be too focused on side plots/side characters and the romance would be awkward. I couldn't tell if the male lead could act or not since I only watched a few ep. but I believe you. He's picked for his looks and not talent. Sadly, this happens way too often these days.
That was quite a twist, but I oddly saw it all along. My interpretation is that Shibata never saw himself as a father figure to Shiori. He was very close to her more like a best friend that he loved. As far as Kahori, Shibata fell in lust with her. You can see it when he first catches a glimpse of her in the rain. Also, all of their steamy encounters. They other than that weren't really close. They didn't connect on a deep level. He could have left with just her but quickly grabbed her daughter to take with them when running away. He was falling for Shiori, but reigned in his feelings until she was a grown woman. Really he loved both mother and daughter but found a soulmate in Shiori.
This was a wonderful drama. Very magical in a way. I really liked the tone in this one and of course the superb acting. 9/10
