Has it occured to you that the drop in figures could be due to people losing patience and interest because of HMH? Just a thought? I was one. I couldn't go beyond ep 18 because of his acting. The support cast also did not live up to their roles either. Only Qiu Xin Zhi and Bai Shu temporarily lifted the drama performances here and there.
Don't worry, this is the reason I dropped this way back along with poor direction, poor pacing, and tropey storylines.…
Some can't see they have been conditioned to it due to years of badly written roles more or less make women into damsel in distress characters that are only there to serve as decoration or even supporting roles MLs. Often they start off with some revenge type plot but very soon they abandon that due to blind love for him.
There are numerous scenarios, mainly written by male writers simply using women to push the narrative of the gallant ML blinded by his love. Willing to make big sacrifices whilst she only exists for his story to show she can bring down a kingdom and kill others indirectly through her just being the apple of his eye.
Set against times when women have less rights and in a system where their parents and the whole social structure is not considerate for women, but the modern audiences prefer to call her a bitch because they think they are better than her within those confines. Let's be honest, they have got carried away with their faves and really only acting out their hormones.
I like the drama but i feels judge the author is trying to portrayal yi wen yun is so wrong:woman can be the downfall…

I came back here for the end and can see exactly as I expected. Drama watchers have fallen right into the classic blame the woman line. This is not the first time and sadly not the last time of some male writers glamourising men's behaviour and turning women into classic plots of causing destruction by simply being there.
Her behaviour is also not average for a woman, but of course, when written by men, no one questions that instead resort to calling her a bitch.
Interesting you rate it 10. I found Neo Hou ruined the role. His acting is quite basic and surface. There is no depth causing his character to be very unlikeable and unrelatable. An actor like Yu Shi will have handled it far more naturally. There is a difference to being carefree and idealistic to being dense and ignorant to which is what has happened to Neo's take. The role is difficult to play, but unfortunately he is the reason I dropped it followed by the draggy pace and low quality fight scenes and poor directing.
are we watching the same thing? she has been a hostage for so long. unable to escape. she never chose the prince.…
You can dislike her based on your modern-day way of thinking. Your comments are a classic case of enforcing current standards to a drama based loosely on a time where women from certain social backgrounds were not even in a position for centuries to have a say on their marriages.
I suggest you watch Imperfect victim, a modern day Chinese drama to see, even today, under the control of a patriarchal society, women, particularly young women are still unable to speak or fight back against a male led society. Women are not always just "weak", they are not supported or feel they might not get support which leads to what you have seen here in this drama.
Well I know that, looking at your review...This jobsworth here has asked MDL to sort this out. Ensuring in future, reviews cannot be ticked as completed until the clock counter has ended for dramas. This is so others know that in the future, reviews like yours are not done after the drama has finished.
Why have you hit the watched in full button? As I type we are only 23 episodes in a 40 episode drama. This is misleading to others and future readers. MDL should also fix this issue to stop reviewers from mistakenly or deliberately misleading drama watchers.
