I can imagine the shock on reading that. It's just bizarre how people just suddenly rage here. Her songs were background music for me when I was growing up, so I look forward to seeing how this drama will depict her life. But can't seem to see it available where I am, so I'll wait a bit longer to see.

I commend you for your measured reply. No idea why this page ends in so much hate and especially when they want to call someone a rude name without checking if they are dead or alive speaks volumes. I hope this drama will be good as I'm here for Peng Guang Ying. But would be really nice to see this version of Teresa Teng's life.
Also on top of "To The Wonder" as stated, which has the highest rating so far this year. The recently finished Heroes, a great drama. has just had their Douban rating of 8.1
Some scenes are ridiculous, but it doesn't matter because the overall plot is good. I love the revenge aspect,…
The two maids and even the younger cousin in the Jiang family's comedic roles seems too hammy and trying too hard to ape an era where slapstick had its place, but trying to shoe-horn it into this drama, doesn't work. I think the directors were too ambitious. You either be consistent if you do it, or you tone it down. Against the main story line, it even devalues the side characters and make the drama look like it's full of side character "fillers," who are padding out the drama to hide a paper-thin story line.
Has anyone had an update about the accident with Huang Riying? I feel really bad for her. It sounded quite bad. I heard she had stitches on her face, and she may not be able to continue. Has the production made an official comment on this? It brings into question their health and safety with the rest of the cast.
Thanx for saving my time, I can't stand main character's death.
The way it was done and the way it moved on quickly was meant to shock us into realising how tough it would have been at the time. It's also a reflection on the hardiness of the people. It's not there to pander to our needs. Also the manner in how she died was meant to show how heroes can be forgotten easily, the unsung heroes further down the chain, that are every step of the way to where China is today.
I'm afraid you've come with a 6 paragraph essay stating it like it's fact. Truth is, we all don't really know…
Looks like you've swallowed the full mass media propaganda yourself. I posted my own opinion and for your information those around me all think exactly the same way as me. I don't feel in any way on my own. Calling me a spy is slanderous and quite sad on your part. You need to ask yourself why you have to say that to someone who simply admire China. Let me guess when a Chinese national sells their country's secrets, they're deemed a hero doing it for the greater good? That's propaganda western style.
Chew on a bit of UK hypocritical laws. They don't support the Hong Kong National Security Law and yet they cook one up for themselves. Just admit it, the Chinese came up with better ideas and now the UK are following them but all the while complaining it stifles Hong Kong citizens. What's more they use the new law to create publicity stunts. Now that's how UK spin their news.
Luckily for you, I'm not like what you assume the dead between the eye types that former coloniser countries like to paint of Chinese people. China has not taken over the world but China is just good at what they do. Stop blaming China for being great in business and great in dotting the i and crossing the Ts.
The last currency the former coloniser countries are their so-called "values", "western rules-based order" and of course their "selective human rights record". I'm just telling you as it is. Scour Youtube and Chinese nationals are not afraid to show their LGBT ness, and you'd like to think they are stifling them all. Reality is, in China they don't try to pretend that there is still a way to go into acceptance.
Countries like the UK, they put the law out but in practice those that live it are not actually accepted in every day life. This is fact. It's not as if I don't see see this. You can live in your ivory tower pretending to the world, but I know how the UK citizens suffer. The current government has made it clear of their disgust of that and green policies and anyone speaking ill of any of historic UK figures. Is that tolerance? But I'll leave it there, you said you're tired of people like me...
It's challenging because the writers have a constraint. China censorship means the ending doesn't allow for crime…
Down-playing He Shan's character is a flaw. I understand that they needed to make the "morally grey characters" palatable and end with goodness prevails. But this cop-out of Fei Ke trying to save her and dying for her seems too easy to make this an acceptable closure when in the original, she was just as shady if not more in some ways.
If you have watched The Bad Kids, you will see there, they had a much more smarter way of ending on characters that are just as questionable in their ethics and even possible murderers getting off scot-free.
MDL is now turning more like a fan-site because they haven't given guidelines on the photo gallery. Actually this…
I posted from a link on the home page under "contact us". But later I noticed under "forums from main page", there is "Everything kisskh" and under the list, look under the "Suggestions" section. There is a huge list and if you don't see any suitable, you can add a new one.
I just read a really interesting analysis about how He Shan and Liu Mo are not telling the whole story either.…
There are issues with the way it ended and how they tried to down play He Shan's character. I still blame it on the director for this because I understand that they needed to make the "morally grey character" palatable and end with goodness prevails. I have suggested to MDL in the past so no harm in suggesting your idea too. The more suggestions the better. I think it could work with two separate galleries. Some may not follow it but I think it would cut down on the mass dumping of photos from some fandoms.
Well I rated it 7.5 myself and dropped it on episode 27. There's too much unnecessary violence and cruelty in…
Yang Mi can act and her acting is not the issue. Sometimes, some roles fit certain actors or actresses. Each actor brings their own aura as you say. In my opinion, on this drama, she seemed to be crumbling and revealing herself too much. But, of course this could be what the director wanted, but if so, the drama feels too repetitive and draggy.
I know her character is complex and she's also a victim herself, but after a while she became a caricature against those two henuous side-kicks. You just wanted the end to come sooner. Surely that's not a good thing to feel when there's a further 15 episodes to go.

Regarding my previous comments on Yang Mi's acting style. They were my personal views and was not in anyway adding or spreading hate, but I can see it looks like that. I can see she can act and brings her unique style to the role. I just felt it didn't suit what I thought the character should be like. As for bringing up Ni Ni, On reflection, I shouldn't have brought up another actor's name on this forum as it's seen as disrespectful to this page.
I'm midway watching this drama and it's pretty intense. The cast is amazing and Yang Mi is so pretty here. But…
Well I rated it 7.5 myself and dropped it on episode 27. There's too much unnecessary violence and cruelty in this. I got the picture by episode 15. Then there's the repetition of Guan Xue's storyline. To see a further 15 episodes it gave me a headache. The twin story a little unbelievable and worse still, the used up "nine lives" type characters also made this unrealistic. How many times can one cheat death?
Personally, after seeing Yang Mi's character, I feel someone like Ni Ni is better suited. Yang Mi appears frail and weak, coupled with her old lady style shrill voice, it was almost like a sick twisted joke when she dished out the cruelty. I kept thinking Doctor Evil character.
