Although I agree ML's personality may not be the cup of tea of many, the problem for me it's not his personality,…
@mysteryqueen9 The problem with answers like yours show you still fall into believing stories should be about some sort of journey and should have dated fairytale endings. Story of Minglan ML character was a classic draggy stock character. It was deliberately set up so that he had that "journey" which to be honest was the weakest part of the story. Story of Minglan's success was the details of family saga and the lesser characters surrounding social/class and not ML's development.
This drama looks very unpredictable which is why A Journey to Love had a bit of success due to not knowing which way it goes, but it seems too many childishlessly down vote dramas because their drama's ending didn't have a "fairy tale" ending.
Why is seven’s new rumoured period drama not yet added on MDL. Is it not yet confirmed. And if not then why…
I think this is the new drama. It's been set up already, but names not confirm 'officially' yet. TSY female lead, Hou Ming Hao and Wang Duo are other rumoured casts.
I'm confused why some people have been saying the ending is ambiguous? I also don't understand why people reacted…
The ending was fine with me too. I think too many viewers are in some kind of fairy tale land. The whole point of the story was to show that love can be for that moment, and no matter how many promises or planning, they all enjoyed their time whilst it lasted. The irony is the few characters that are alive were the ones the team was supporting in a strange way (directly or indirectly). It's glamourising sacrifices made and showing how fragile small mistakes can make.
Beautifully told. Almost dream-like. Mixing seriousness with comedy makes this drama more powerful, helped by the music. Yu Zhe Jia played by Su Ke was one of the funniest and memorable characters that stood out for me. But everyone did a great job. Highly recommend it for those looking for high quality costumes, settings and good script.
I'm on episode 18. It just gets better. Packed with toxic and messy stuff. Right up my street. So entertaining, funny and fast paced. Not seen anything like this in ages.
Lol, China's a massive country. There's a whole range of features there. If you go to China, and travel around then you'll see this. XZ is attractive, and he definitely looks Chinese to me.
I just wanna clarify a plot that some people are calling redundant, the part where the crippled prince tried to…
This is one of those mad-cap story lines where this drama goes off the rails. Prince Dang Yang is flattened and half dead under a signage, the next 2 hours, he's standing bolt upright like nothing had happened to him. I think it's just a short-cut poor excuse to get Ru Yi & Ning Yuan Zhou back, cutting out all the middle-bits. I'm not entirely sure how both suddenly come to such insight where elsewhere in the storyline there were next to no hints. It's one of those cheated moments. Felt like someone was desperate to close out something in a hurry. It could well be funding shortage, but that was not what I felt when seeing this happen.
I'm in ep 7 and find the FL a bit stiff and unnatural. I hope it gets better. The ML is too perfect, but otherwise…
As far as I know, this is what she's meant to be like. If you stay and watch more, you will slowly see her character change, but in a very natural and subtle way. Not like some dramas that make big points about people changing behaviour.
😄 Alen Fang playing a playboy is amazing. So refreshing he is normally stuck playin stiff characters.
I had always been saying he should have been chosen to play Wen Ke Xing in Word of Honor, and seeing him here in his role just reminds me of his ability.
Idk why but i feel the last 2 episodes feels a bit boring for me (i fell asleep a few times XD). I still enjoy…
That's the whole point of what you wrote. The writers know you will fall into this type of classic feeling and deliberately put in characters that will do the complete opposite. You are not meant to feel their sudden feelings, but you also know it will be the most likely pairing too. The fact that you believe there is nothing special in the princess to warrant his affection already tells me you have been sold the idea that YSS's character deserves better, all because of how his background. What better than pair him with a classic two dimensional character that will no doubt grow? You also forget, she's also throwing all her airs and graces for this womanising criminal.
hello to people who have watched this, could you help with some of these qns before i start watching?(1) what…
The mystery element is more or less towards the end but much of the drama is more slice of life with small elements of mystery/crimes littered throughout. In terms of social commentary, I find it very much light and more giving you realism of the times when people lived through it. I didn't feel any heavy hand of righteousness which is why the drama is a success.
The time lines were late 90s, early 00s (2006) and then around 2016/7.
Good all round drama. The hospital scenes and technical side looks more realistic. I thought the Doctor Bai story line fell short and had lack of details. Not sure why as it felt like something bigger would happen. ZXF's story with his mother was not as dramatic as I thought it would be. Generally, everything was gentle and lightly touched. I also thought there would be more screen time given to that.
