He is! Because his family sent him to Thailand to separate the family so they aren't all together (for safety reasons) he felt very lonely and watching them helped him feel like he was still with his Mama. 🥹 The show talks about that more towards the end when his parents come back in to the storyline.

RIGHT??? It's actually SO distracting! And whatever stylist is applying it somehow keeps smearing it all over not only Est's lips, but ABOVE his lips. I'm like...ease up on the lip gloss, people! and if you're using that much because their lips are super sore from all of the kissing....why aren't we seeing more of that in the end product? 😭

that is just not how the industry works, period. No actors in any country have the power to decide what gets cut in a project. Plenty of actors have had their ENTIRE existence in a production end up on the cutting room floor. The director and producers (money talks) decide what makes a cut, the actors just do their roles and hope their hard work gets included or that the final product reflects what the script promised. Saying "well they should" is meaningless. It's like saying "life should be fair", but that's just not reality.

Companies don't care about fair. They care about who makes them $$, and PondPhuwin is one of the most consistent, stable pairs, so...of course they're going to get "more opportunities" than less proven/known artists. Also, their dramas can be used to promote or launch pairs who don't have as much following yet. There are a lot more strategies behind the scenes than just "fair".

Right?? I literally just listened to someone break down the entire novel and was honestly horrified. And I mean...I don't mind a red flag ML now and then. I'm even okay with a little dubious consent as long as they're both obviously into it....but actual grape, and multiple times? No, thank you.

That said, I love this so far. I have a real weakness for a shameless lead, and let me tell you...Ing is about as shameless as it gets. 🤣 He is not even subtle about it, lol.

I AM super into the idea that Yok might be a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing and turn the tables on Ing down the road....but not in the same way it happens in the novel, that's for sure.

I honestly cannot imagine how fans of Vanner or MUSTB are coping. The kissing skills in this drama are the best I've seen in AWHILE, and this is a FIRST DRAMA for both of them.

As a k-pop fan myself, I can't even FATHOM if any of my biases suddenly jumped into the BL acting world with this level of...everything.

Okay. Episode 1 lived up to the promise of the trailer, lots of tension and power dynamics. Just enough story to stay engaged, but honestly it's the chemistry and tension and push and pull carried by the actors.

He DOES! I was wondering why he looked so familiar to me and as soon as I read this comment, it finally clicked! He and He Yu could play siblings, they look so much alike.

Both of them! When Moth was watching Dan cook, and every time Dean looked at Moth, pretty much.

I could definitely be wrong! I just couldn't hear it in the music but that doesn't mean they didn't change it enough to fool my ear.

I don't think it's Amazing Grace. I didn't notice at the time for sure, but your comment made me go back and rewatch the scene and try to hear it. A few chords might be similar, but I still didn't hear it.

Constructive criticism is fine, but what, exactly, do you object to? Your comment makes it sound like he hasn't tried or hasn't learned, or has been consistently bad since the beginning, and while I can see he wasn't as comfortable or experienced an actor as Est in the beginning, he was still good enough that watching Thame's pain made me cry.

I think he has improved since his first job in ThamePo, and will continue to. Dean is a completely different character than either Thame or Rome, and all of them are different from William himself. He isn't wooden or stilted. Does he have some -isms that he could work on eliminating? Sure, but for that matter so do a lot of actors. As he gets more comfortable with acting and with each series, I think we'll continue seeing him grow.

Awwww.....this episode was so cute! They are in SUCH DENIAL. Moth taking care of Dean by taking him to his favorite food place. Dean finally prioritizing Moth over his friends and choosing a night with him over out at the club! Moth's SHOCK at gourmet-cook Dean was so adorable! and the way he watches him, like when Dean was cooking....SIR, you are IN LOVE.

And Dean caring for Moth, drying his hair, cooking for him, giving him that "love misprint" t-shirt...also IN LOVE.

They literally turn themselves into pretzels pretending they are just a hook up. 😂🙄

Dean, at least, is experiencing real character growth. Overcoming his PHOBIA of commitment to ask Moth to really date is a HUGE step for him. So proud of him! I still want to know who hurt him so badly in the past, but I assume we will be finding out. Big growth steps forward always come with some backsliding into negative coping behavior.

Somebody help me out, in the scene when Moth wakes Dean up to ask him if he can go home (come ON, Moth! Dean looked CRUSHED 😭) subtitles say he calls Dean's name, but I swear I heard him call him "ter" which if I'm not mistaken is like "darling" isn't it?

Really? I felt the complete opposite. Real progress was made this ep.

1. Wan finally, completely knows the truth about Nine's nature. He's no longer his fan. That's plot progression.

2. Third comforting Wan is another step of them growing closer. and it led to...

3. A confession, and...

4. Our first kiss! The cutest first kiss exchange ever.

5. AND we finally got confirmation that Renji and Time are secret BFs, not to mention Time recording what really happened with Wan and Nine.

All of this is very clear progression forward for the plot and characters. I'm confused as to what might have felt circular.

You guys, I'm dying! 😂😂😂 Nine minutes in after Wan performs the scene that mirrors what would be said if he confronted Third and Nine about their secrets, Renji's proud smile and clapping! 😂 I think Renji is the MVP of this show.

I watched their reactions to eps 1-4 and then because the reaction to ep 5 isn't out yet, I rewatched ep 5, and I had some new thoughts. Right after it aired, I read some comments here - and this was my impression at the time, too - about the scene when they finally sleep together being a little underwhelming because it felt like a downgrade from the intensity we'd seen from their kissing scenes up to that point.

But I realized on the second watch that this was a very intentional choice. That it was softer because in that moment, it's them reconciling after they both thought maybe they were just going their separate ways, and maybe because of that, it isn't just the "hook up" they initially planned. Instead, it's softer, it's vulnerable, it has real emotional weight behind it. Dean is even insecure, something I don't think he is used to experiencing. He stops and asks Moth "What if I don't live up to everything I've claimed to be? Will you give me another chance?" It is perhaps the most vulnerable Dean has been with anyone, and it's because Moth already MATTERS. If this was just a hook up, it wouldn't. they would each get what they want and move on. But Dean, even before they sleep together, is thinking of the future. He is not thinking of when Moth becomes just another friend like all the rest of his hook ups, he's worried about what Moth will think of him. If he'll be disappointed. If he won't want to continue. And Moth has already been breaking all of his own rules and boundaries for Dean. His own friend keeps pointing out how different he is with Dean - he let's him into his space, he makes exceptions for him he doesn't for anyone else.

And then we have the voiceover talking about love. What makes people fall in love? This scene isn't just them finally giving in to the building tension. It's them falling in love, or moving on the next step of doing so. That's why it's softer, because it's meant to convey that.

But I think where the director went wrong is by cutting away to the other couple during this moment, and by giving us only very short cuts of Dean and Moth as they experience this. The scene would have carried that emotional weight more if it spent a little more time there, if we saw them getting more lost in those emotions that neither of them is yet prepared to admit.

For everyone here actually ENJOYING this drama - which I personally think, though it has its flaws, is well done and compares just fine to many a "vampire themed" procedural show the west has produced. YMMV, of course, and sure, this has its flaws, but overall? The emotional through lines are what carry it, whether that is the characters' personal trauma filled back stories that impact their present day, or the romance(s).

Maybe I'm just old school, but I read some of the comments here and I'm like....what are you all expecting of a clearly vampire themed procedural drama that also happens to be a BL romance?

Anyway, I've totally digressed because the level of criticism leveled at this drama just strikes me as kind of a lot for the kind of show it is, and I think the production did a good job, and definitely the actors have given it their absolute all. But I came here to say if you aren't watching the actors reacting to the episodes that WeTV is posting on YT, you are missing out. Seriously. It's lovely listening to Phoom compliment Boss on how well he did with an emotional, intense scene, or watching them all be so happy with how a big story point turned out, or how proud and happy Boss and TongTong were of their NC scene...or honestly watching both leads get emotional and cry because this show and the work means so much to them, and seeing it live up to their hopes means so much.

It's really been great.

Sooo.....if the virus is transmitting by BITING....doesn't it make sense that KISSING SOMEONE INFECTED would ALSO transfer it?! Like, I know you've temporarily suppressed it or whatever, but that man is still infected!

And are they stopping at kissing?? Because IRL that's the kind of kissing that leads to more than kissing....IDK. The whole time I was like "OMG STOP WHAT IF HE SUDDENLY REVERTS BACK AND EATS YOU??? And also: can't you get infected from what you are doing right now??

This is, obviously, all about the second couple.

I am late to this, having only recently started watching BLs in general, and discovering ThamePo even more recently. This is SO funny! I bet it is 1000x funnier to actual Thai people who know the soap operas being referenced all of the time. I mean, I get it, every culture has its soaps that we all grew up watching, right? So the funny bits aren't lost, exactly, they're just...probably much MORE hilarious to people who know the details.

But when they introduced his Mom and she spoke in some of the same overly dramatic way, I thought that was genius. Not only is it because he watches her old soaps all of the time, but she also talks like she's still in them and he picked it up from his Mama! Of course he doesn't think it's weird. 😂

My only question is HOW did his parents end up together? They seem like such a mismatched pair, lol.

Anyway, it's absolutely hilarious! Someone tell me, when this originally aired did they keep William's involvement under wraps and surprise everyone with that easter egg entrance at the end of ep 4??? Because I was internally screaming even though I knew he was listed with the cast.

Also, Est's reactions to everything his boss says as Mok is literally all of us. 😂😂😂

I just read a comment dragging the chemistry of the leads and I will say these two leads are new to me, but I think they absolutely have chemistry - it's just a different chemistry from what ThamePo have, for example. But that's not necessarily bad. IDK, I see different pairings as having a different feeling from one another. With William and Est there is definitely this spark that is electric underlying their interactions, and what feels like yearning and a deeply bonded devotion. With Pond and Phuwin it feels...I don't know...more intimate and somehow more grounded. Like old lovers who know each others' rhythm and sync up effortlessly. I find both appealing in different ways.
