I know....but then they had however long after that where they continued prepping their submission for the contest. This show doesn't show every passing day. I think about a week might have gone by since they said "two months", the antagonist did what he did to try and invalidate their design, and they finished their submissions and submitted it, then all of the companies met and the winner was chosen.
Yes, correct. The contract is for three months, he's been there for two...or was at the time that was stated. It's unclear exactly how much time has passed since as they finished prepping the submission for the contest.
It’s so sweet that you’re watching it with your daughter.😀🥰 It’s great bonding over a good show.
It's a great way for us to stay connected and share something together even though she lives five-ish hours away from me! I got her a Viki sub for Christmas just so we could start doing this. 🥰
IKR?? But the writing has been SO strong and they've been so quick to actually communicate and clear up misunderstandings that I HOPE such a thing won't take too long to resolve in the story. *fingers crossed*
This drama is so strong. The writing, the acting, the details. My daughter and I are choosing a drama to watch "together" (we watch at the same time while on discord voice chat together) and I knew this would be right up her alley because she LOVES murder-mystery games and playing a game like this would be a dream for her, so as soon as I mentioned the premise she wanted to see it. Anyway, that is to say I'm doing a rewatch with her and we watched the first two episodes last night. I love how consistent the characters are. From the very beginning, the character quirks are the same in those early episodes as they are now. The way he slid those hawthorn snacks across the table to her before he even knew her! People say the ML is cold in those first episodes, and he is certainly maintaining a distance, but the way he cares for people with his actions is already there in the subtle parts. And the FL with her quick mind and slightly obsessive tendencies, and the way she hides away in an emotional crisis is also the same.
Today's (yesterday's technically) eps were so good! I love that their relationship has just slowly and organically become closer over time, with the quiet moments and funny moments and clear admiration for one another slowly evolving - like he admired her cleverness from the very beginning, but it has slowly evolved as they have become closer and known each other better until ep 11 when he was very clearly jealous of her blind date and upset when he thought she'd cancelled on him. He even called their planned meal "a date". It's not this sudden epiphany of having feelings for each other, it's more real the way an actual relationship evolves in real life.
Dirty pool the way they refused to give us a trailer for ep 13!! I have a theory that it's because we get a kiss in the game world (two??) and they don't want to show us that. From what I've seen, she initiates the kiss under the cherry trees, and it's not intense, just a soft brush of lips that catches him completely by surprise....and then I think we get the alley kiss, which he initiates and is much more intense??? If spoilers are to be believed. (And the calendar shows a kiss, so I believe them!) But based on the trailer for ep 14 I'm wondering if she was drunk for these scenes and won't remember? ANYWAY, can't wait!
There is no clear indication of them realising their feelings till now. But it kinds of feels obvious for ML because…
They didn't give us a trailer for ep 13, and the ep 14 trailer still feels like the build up BEFORE a kiss to me. IDK if the "spoilers" we've heard are at all accurate.
Same, wife got slapped and FL had to protect her when he was there. He just left them to fight the disgusting…
Yeah, this was the scene that really stood out to me. Like, that man slapped his wife and I was expecting the husband to do something and instead it was the FL....and it was the FL again sitting with her BF after, and the BF goes "You go, I've got my husband to take care of me." My reaction: "You do??? Where???"
He's an NPC (Non-Player Character - Staff), she is a customer and can choose her role.
Yes, their faces all remain the same! Part of the game's charm is that even if the same people show up as players, they could be playing a totally different character each time (based on which "suitcase" they grab when they sign up to play). The NPCs are mostly actors hired as staff to play the same roles each time, although they have an A group and a B group, so sometimes a different actor is playing a role, which you'll see in future episodes. Think of it like the character actors in Disneyland. "Cinderella" might have two or three different people who play her on different days, but an actor who plays Cinderella won't show up as Snow White. The NPCs know more information about the story than the players, but because you can't predict what a player will do in a game, often the story takes turns that surprise even the NPC actors. So, for example, the ML can't predict what the FL will do as her character or the impact it will have on his role in the story.
I’m a little nervous about Tearful Kiss and Kiss after long separation in the last ep.
So far, their communication had been very good! Anytime something has been a misunderstanding or a conflict, they clear it up after a short time by actually talking, which is one of the drama's strengths. If something about his trauma really does lead to a break up, I don't think it will last very long...and it would have to be very specific in how it is done to lead to a break up at all. I'm going to guess that he shuts her out because his trauma is why he's been emotionally unavailable to everyone around him so far ( not just her). But we'll see.

I mean...we're on episode 10 and so far, they are pretty equal in how things are progressing. This is slow progression with both character first interacting only in the game world, and then it's competitive, trying to outwit one another and reluctant admiration for each other's cleverness. Once they also meet IRL, a slow admiration starts, and while there is some chemistry happening, nothing is really romantic yet. Just two people broken for various reasons circling each other. Now that admiration is finally starting to show some moments of real sparks, but even so neither character is admitting to it yet. It is very even.
oh no i was really hoping for a normal second lead couple where the friend's husband isn't a cheater but i guess…
We don't know what's going to happen yet. Honestly, the show has portrayed them as a very healthy couple. He even told her up front on the phone about meeting the junior. Let's wait and see.
I'm thinking about watching this drama since it keeps popping up on my ig but i didn't understand the sypnosis…
The FL has a bad break up, so her BFF drags her to a VR murder mystery roleplaying game, where she reluctantly participates, crossing paths with the ML, who is playing one of the NPCs (non-player characters - meaning he's a staff member who plays a specific role each time the game runs). Their interaction in the game awakens her competitiveness, and she comes back multiple times, determined to outwit him in the game. Meanwhile, in her personal life she decides to quit her job, which she only took three years ago in desperation, and go back to pursuing her lifelong dream, architecture design. But the industry isn't kind to people who take breaks from it, and she runs into issues finding a job. Desperate, she decides to rent out her attic apartment, and the ML - who needs a place in that neighborhood - secretly rents it. In a twist of fate, he also happens to be the award winning designer she most admires in her field. As the show progresses, their paths intertwine more and more. At it's core, he is emotionally aloof and unavailable, she is broke, heartbroken, and feels like a failure, and as the two interact over time and become more entangled, each overcomes the things haunting them.
I don’t understand why she stayed alone at that site 🤷🏽♀️. That was totally unnecessary. And she…
Wow, seriously? She stayed to double check measurements because she felt pressured by the huge team the competitors brought to get every detail right. And even if she'd called someone from work to come get her, she'd have been left standing in the pouring rain for what...the taxi app say like 50 minutes to get there, so at least half an hour....or be a mature adult and accept a car ride back to town...it's not like she was sleeping with the guy or sharing company secrets. She has NO idea how deep the animosity between them goes yet, or that they're related.
