Funny article, thanks a lot!
I don't live with my family anymore, but That's definitely what my mum may think whenever I'm spending holidays at home!

Thanks for the article : that's quite nice to be recalled of those dramas I enjoyed a lot last year. I've watched them all, and was looking forward to this kind of role for Nino too. As someone previously said, maybe Platina Data could be that role.
Every character was enjoyable in his own way, and though I'm more attracted by clever characters like Kageyama (i'm looking forward the movie airing this summer in Japan), i was moved by Katayama, and Shuntaro was fresh and delightful.
I totally agree with your statements about the character considering different point of views. My favorite one, as a viewer though, was Enomoto Kei, and what attracted me the most in him was his unability of interact with other "normal" people. The numerous scenes when some kind of misunderstanding happened between the 2 or 3 leads were really cute, and made the flavoour of this drama. Thanks again

If things were a little bit predictable, I didn't see it come so fast. A very bad news for us, especially, it…
... and those who cannot. I hope i'm just too pessimistic because of the shock of the news, though. Well at least i'm unable at the moment to say how much it could affect my drama plans in the near future as well as my small participation on MDL (I don't see the point of discussing things i'm not able to see).
Ah... and it seems also that things will become harder for J-drama addicts than for K-drama addicts, since more korean ones seem available on other streaming sites (not sure though).
well, it's a bad day!

If things were a little bit predictable, I didn't see it come so fast. A very bad news for us, especially, it seems, for European ones who depended a lot on DC. I found 99% of the dramas i've seen on DC. So yes, the shutdown will affect drama addiction, at least mine. For many reasons i don't want to download dramas, so It will become very hard to find streams. I'm afraid that reporting our interest on another streaming site could only be for a while, since the same could happen in a couple of weeks or months.
The rights issues (for companies as well as for subbers) are real, and of course should be taken into account, but it makes me sad, cause drama addicts can be divided in the near future in two groups : those who will continue to watch dramas because they belong to a group (many kind : hgeographical reasons, belonging to a community, be able to afford paying sites...)...

Thanks for the friend's request, and sorry for the late answer (a little busy at the moment). I don't know most of the boys you are talking about, except Kame, Miura and Lee Min Ho, but they look fine. Especially the one with lipstick on his cheek! Your pics makes me wonder if Dramaland is your paradise.
Btw, I think you have well described what can be a drama addict reaction in front of our TV screen! i like it a lot!

... think like that. Do not forget that about 200 years ago, being 30 years old was already being old. Nowadays, even being 60 doesn't mean so much (I see it with my family especially). As medicine progresses, people became older in a very good health, so 30 is not so old anymore (I'm trying to convince myself in saying that!!! lol). Plus I think Japanese people are more supple than Europeans for example, so it looks less weird seeing some of their age to act like 20-year-old ones. Nevertheless, when I watch SMAP dancing choregraphies that suit better young people, I feel a little embarrassed... Hope they will find another way to stay groups we like, in a more proper way due to their age. Or maybe we just have to change our point of view (becoming an Arashi fan made me change a lot of my point of views!!).
Btw, do you plan to watch next Yamapi's drama? I will with no great expaectations.

sorry I need another post to comment! About SMAPxSMAP, I discovered it during my first trip in Japan 2 years ago, and I totally adore it. That's so different from TV shows in my country. I do agree that knowing the culture help a lot to understand the "meaning" of that show. Being realistic, it's a good way to fangirl. I can't see it anymore, but planning to watch it next summer, in Japan again. I'm only watching Arashi's TV show, especially VS Arashi, and even if I don't really understand what they say, it's so much fun watching them smiling and laughing that makes me feel better. Do you feel the same?
Concerning their future as dancers in glittering neon clothes, well, it couldn't last for long. Though I'm currently watching an Arashi concert, and though they are all 30 and +, they can move better than every young people I know. So why not? Maybe it's just the number 30 that make us...

If you're only 19, don't think the greatest time has end. there's still your 20's, and that should be the best (especially if you go to uni). I've met most of my actual best friends when I was 18, and 12 years later, they are still dear people to me. But I totally understand the sadness you could experience, because it's never the same again, when we are separated because of studies, professionnal life or marriages and children... But that could also be a question of temper, I mean, i'm a lonely person, and I don't make any effort to see them more. It could turn out totally differently for you. And real friends are still there beside you, even if you are in different areas, even if you don't see each other very often. Because they can listen to you, and open their heart to you, even if you haven't seen them for long. Mine are like that. oh, and I haven't answered about the rest...
On Sakurai Sho Jun 21, 2013
Person Sakurai Sho
He was already one of my favorite actors since I saw him in Nazotoki and Tokio. But I am totally amazed by his acting skills in Kazoku Game.
As a singer, though he is far from perfect, he is the one who was able to make me love rap (at least Japanese one). More generally, I like the public person he is. He seems the kind of perfect man to me... definitely one of my favorite Japanese!!!

hey, sorry for not having given news before. I appreciate your proposition very much, but I'm sorry I didn't have time to create any account (not at home during week-ends, and busy at work during weeks). But I found today all the last episodes subbed on DC. I'm currently watching them and i'm about to start the final one now. And I can say that i'm not disapppointed so far. I wonder what will happen of the Numata family, but i'm also sad cause it's already the end of the show. Damn, that Sakurai is really awsome in it!
but i'm not giving up the idea, so I think I will ask you soon!
oneterrorist Jun 21, 2013
Thanks a lot for this guide though I already know this show. Hope it will make a lot of people want to watch it. (and now all subbed episodes are finally available on DC)
This drama was definitely the most interesting of the year (so far, imo, even though I haven't finished it yet), mostly because of its strange atmosphere and numerous twists.
As other MDLers say, Sakurai performance is really astonishing. Contrary to you, I was not convinced by his acting skills in the Quizz show 2, but I am totally addicted to his character in this one. It's been a long time since I was already fan of a character in the middle of the first episode. With Yoshimoto, Sakurai-san seems to have improved a lot.
Have you seen him in Tokio? though the story and the atmosphere are totally different from Kazoku Game, it's as Tokio that I started to think that Sakurai can make a pretty good actor.
mysecretsoul Jun 17, 2013
I cannot say for Korean and Taiwanese actors, but concerning Japanese ones, I would definitely put Yamamoto Yusuke in the first place. I'm never as happy as when i see him smiling, though I kind of like Matsumoto's one.
Do you plan to make a female version?
HeyitsEst Jun 16, 2013
I will probably only watch Summer Nude, and only because of the cast. A little bit disappointed after very good spring dramas!
Anyway, thanks a lot for the article!

I think the currently airing Jdramas are more interesting than the upcoming ones. Thank you for the article (^_^)
I totally agree with you.

Contrary to most of previous MDLers, I really like Yamashita as an actor (especially in Nobuta, Kurosagi and Ending Planner). So a new drama with him is definitely a very good news. Karina and Toda added, I will watch it for sure. Though I really, really, really dislike love triangles. At least, this kind of drama is okay for summer holidays.
