They mostly only focused on him when Yi was talking to him or was needing him to do something, at least that's how it seemed to me. I could be wrong though. To me the ones who seemed shady were those two guys during the 2024 flashback engagement scene. Especially the guy on the left.. he just looked irritated to me and it seemed so random to focus on them.
Kinda hope that they just wanted to get to the actual plot, so they rushed through this crazy mess to get to it…
Yeah thats probably why. Especially since in the preview for next week it looks like Hia Yi gets his memories back. I was surprised by that, I didnt expect it to happen so soon! I'm really hoping its towards the end of episode 2 because it feels a little to fast..

In terms of the story, yes it was definitely an introduction / catch up and that didnt bother me. I just felt like the episode didn't flow as well as it could have. I really liked going back to the bouquet catch scene and then going forward in time through the years until the present. I thought that was very well done, I just feel like it took to long to show us that. It took about 17 minutes before it got to that scene, then we spend about 20 minutes in the flashback, and then the last about 12 back in the present. For me personally, It just felt a little jarring and I wouldve preferred the flashback happen sooner. I didnt hate the episode, I did like it, and maybe mess is the wrong word.. I just feel like it could've been structured a bit better. That's just my opinion though.
I'm excited for this series, but I can't lie.. the first episode was kind of a mess. I didnt hate it and am still super happy Max and Nat finally got lead roles, but I feel like the first episode could've been better. Still excited for the 2nd episode though.

The preview for next week just has me even more disappointed in Doctor Ning and Muang's storyline. They are definitely cute together, and yes their NC scenes are hot, but thats literally all we've gotten of them.. I know they are the second leads and don't get much screen time, but all we get to see is them have sex. If there was scenes before and after developing their relationship it wouldn't bother me, but most of the time we don't get that. It went from their one night stand, to Muang obsessing over Ning, to him sleeping with a drunk Ning and upsetting him, to all of a sudden they're dating.. Other than that all we've gotten is NC scenes. Now all of a sudden Ning might have someone else.. I'm just disappointed because I feel like their story could have been great, but they are just reduced to the NC couple..
I'm sorry, but I'm so disappointed in Pine and August's storyline.. I did really love seeing how everyone in The Jungle met though 😊 I liked the flashback episode, but at the same time I was really hoping we'd get more of Nathee and Florence's storyline this episode. Now I have to wait till next week 😔
I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually really loved this! While yes the dubbing is a very weird choice and pretty bad, personally it isn't bad enough that I need it muted. I found this first episode really amusing and Luv's random inner thoughts were so funny, especially during his shirtless scene 😆 I'm honestly really glad I decided to form my own opinion on this series instead of letting the comments sway me. The storyline is really interesting to me and the acting so far is really good! Is this my favorite series airing? No. But I will definitely be watching the next episode.

I did watch the after credits scene and thats why I was so disappointed. If it had ended on just him opening his eyes I could've let myself believe it was Pleum that woke up in the body. However, in that scene Khao calls him Mr. Kim and Kim says something like 'did you learn that from Pleum', meaning Kim is in the body. I know he wakes up and that section was a dream I guess, but they dont say anything that gives the impression its actually Pleum. That is what makes me sad. I also dont really like that Kim and Khao ended up together. Though they say Khao liked Kim, he acted like he hated him and even called him a scumbag to Pleum when he thought it was Kim. I just didnt really see those two actually ending up together so it just made the ending disappointing.
The one thing I am still, and always will be, disappointed about is how short the 'helping him with Nita' portion was.. The trailer made it seem like that's what the whole series was going to be about, but instead we got like 2 episodes. I was so down for the original idea because watching Zo slowly fall for Joke instead sounded so amazing! I'm bringing this up because if anyone knows of or has written a fanfic using that plot, but drawn out longer could you please send it to me 🥺🙏 I still haven't gotten over my disappointment, obviously, and keep hoping someone will write this 😔
