Yeah on top of all the other stuff I wasn't a huge fan of, that I said in previous post, the 'I still remember how much this made me cry - hard.' also kind of helps me decide not to watch this lol.
I have never been a big fan of series with sad endings or alot of emotional moments. I have actually checked the end of books, movies, and series before to make sure it is a happy ending because I just don't do well with sad stuff. I will watch them, but I have to really like the series/movie or be super interested in it to put myself through that. For example, I am currently watching a Thai series called I Feel You Linger In The Air that I know is going to rip my heart out, tear it to little pieces, stomp all over it, and mostly likely make me bawl my eyes out when it gets to a certain point in the story. However, that series has been so amazing so far, so it is worth it in my opinion. It does help that the people who have read the book say we will get a happy ending, it'll just be a little bittersweet..
Anyways, sorry I got off on a tangent lol. All I meant to say is for me I don't think this series is worth crying my eyes out over..

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I wanted to give you a proper response, but I knew it would be long and didn't want to do it on my phone so I had to wait till I could get on my computer lol.

Honestly, I do love the build up, but I'm not actually not a huge fan of couples getting together at the end of a series either. I don't hate it and I do still enjoy series that are done that way if they are done well, but honestly I prefer series where couples get together probably about half way through the series. I think midway is perfect when it's done right because it gives a good amount of time for the build up of feelings, but still enough time to explore their relationship after they've gotten together. As you said though, sadly it is more common for a couple to get together close to or at the end of a series.

For this series specifically, I honestly think they got together at the perfect time. The build up, though it was only 3 episodes, was done very well and the tension was so high between them. The hand holding scene at the end of episode 3 / beginning of episode 4 was executed so perfect and I had so many butterflies in my stomach when she grabbed his hand 🥰. I loved that scene so much and have honestly already rewatched it multiple times because it was so perfect lol

It wasn't really the fact that they had already gotten together that bothered me, I didn't mind it and was actually kind of happy because I don't think I could've taken much more of their tension filled scenes lol. I guess what bothered me was that I had 13 more 1hr10minute long episodes and almost all the synopsis were filled with drama, obviously. I don't mind drama added on to love stories because it adds to the realism of their story. For me the reason why this series' drama made me want to stop watching was for two main reasons.

One, the mother🙄 It had only been 3 episodes and she was already driving me insane to the point where I was already skipping her scenes to avoid further annoyance. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is insufferable asshole parents who think they can decide everything about their child's future and not care at all if it makes them happy or not. Sadly, it seems to be a popular trope.. Though I haven't seen it, through reviews I've read people have said the FL lets her mother dictate her decision and that is what leads to them breaking up and that just irritates me. I do understand that cultures are different and maybe that is why I don't understand completely, but I just don't get why you would let anyone ruin your happiness even if it is your own mother. He is a perfectly respectable man who treats her, at least as far as I'd seen, very well. If I had someone who treated me the way he treats her, I wouldn't give that up for anyone. Now again, I haven't seen the rest of it, but knowing something along those lines happens and that I would have to deal with her mothers scenes was a big reason on why I didn't want to continue this.

The other major reason was the drama/issues inside the series itself. None of the major drama/issues in the series they had introduced kept my attention. The major plot point, the age issue, I just personally didn't get. Part of it was because by episode 3 I still wasn't completely sure of the ML's age so I don't know how large their age gap is, but for me I don't think age difference is a big deal once you are older. I know for other people it's different so I can see where the FL is coming from, but for me personally it just fell a little flat. I'm sure it came up later in the series, but it would make more sense their friends being angry they are dating their sibling and less about the age difference.
The ex issue just got old fast. He was so damn annoying, but I understood how they wrote the character. I assume he is someone who doesn't get alot of attention usually so when the other girl dumps him he falls back on the FL because he feels it is his only chance. I understood that, though he still annoyed me to know end. What I didn't get was why every time he said she was a cheater on him with the ML, why she just let him say it. I think she stood up for herself a little, but She could have just lied and said "I'm not a cheater I started dating him after you." or something along those lines. I also don't get why he couldn't come to that conclusion, but he is clearly unhinged lol. Regardless, even though it had only been 3 episodes I got tired of seeing that ex's face 🙄
Last drama/issue I can think of is the office creeps. The office skeezy creeps issue just felt like filler to add drama/time to the series so they could extend the length. Unless it comes up later and the ML helps with it, it didn't really pertain to the major plot so it seemed pointless.

I know this is already super long and if you don't read it all I understand lol, but with me not really liking any of the major issues in the series it didn't feel worth it for me to sit through all of them just to get glimpses of their moments together. Then on top of all of that, as you said, the ending was handled poorly. I did spoil that for myself when I was trying to decide if I wanted to finish it and I was like, this is it.. After all that, this is all we get for an ending... And again, it kind of solidified in my brain that this series might not be worth my time. I know so many other people loved it and thought it was a masterpiece, but for me personally I just don't think I'll like it.

Not gonna lie, your explanation on how you felt while watching this drama just further helped me decided not to finish it 😆 I don't know if I want to go through all those emotions for a drama I feel meh about lol.

Surprisingly I really loved this series! Though yes, I would have preferred the actors original voices, the dubbing didn't bother me. I actually found the dubbing hilarious and it added to the comedy, especially the inner voices.
One of the things that brought my rating down for this was Thian's character. My lord was his character annoying! I had to put his scenes on x2 speed because I just couldn't sit through it. I also hate how his character was just like one big mockery of someone with disabilities. I understand that he was putting on a show and that it was all fake, and maybe that was the whole point and why he was overdoing it, but personally I just really hated that.
Another thing was that the ending definitely felt rushed which sucks because this had been a really good story plot-wise so far, at least in my opinion. If this series really did originally have 10 episodes planned I feel like that would have been much better. It would have given them more time to build Thad and Luv's romance, because I feel like it had just barely begun, while also giving more time to delve into the family's past.
But I guess there's no point in dwelling on what could have been.. Regardless, as I said I really did enjoy this series despite some of the flaws it had.
Even though I'm definitely in the minority, I actually would love a S2. I personally loved all the characters, aside from Thian obviously, so I would love a S2 with someone else as the main couple.
I know they showed Butler Sin get a key at the end of the finale, but honestly the main person I want to see find love is Inn. He was probably one of my favorite characters and the unrequited love he felt for Luv was so sad, I just wanted to give him a big hug 🥺 I would love a series where he finds someone else and moves on!

This is by far the best story so fae in my opinion.
The two leads are super cute together and I'm so excited for next week to see the conclusion to their story!! I swear at least you don't end up together I'm going to riot 😤

I know right! There was even that one scene where he finally had the chance to check a lock and didnt just to snoop in his notebook! Like thats all he's cared about this whole time and all of a sudden a random notebook is more important 🙄 I thought that part was stupid lol
I haven't watched episode 5 yet, but I feel there is alot to resolved on top of the added plots they introduced in episode 4. It just doesnt feel like enough time to wrap up the story well. Which sucks because despite a lot of other people not liking it, I've actually been enjoying this series. The dub doesn't bother me I find it amusing and I've actually found the plot very interesting, so I hate that it's going to be a rushed ending 😔

Oh ok, I didnt know that. I feel like it'd be better to just leave it blank, put unknown, or put a ? until they know to avoid confusion.
Regardless, that means that the writers are really bad with pacing because they're introducing major plot points so late in the story that its definitely going to be rushed.. Seems like a bad choice on their part.

This series may have some flaws, but overall I really like it so far and am so happy MaxNat got a lead role 😊

Yeah, when they got together at the end of episode 3 and I saw there was 13 more episodes that were all over an hour long I'm like this is definitely going to be draining to watch. Honestly, my personal opinion is that if they were going to have them get together by episode 3 I feel like this should have been at max 8 episodes.

Knowing we have to wait 2 weeks for episode 9, I think I'm just going to wait and watch episode 8 next week like I normally would have if it hadnt gotten leaked. I think I can take a week of torture, but two weeks is just too much for me 😅 Especially since I know what's happening in this episode 🥺

Everything about the was amazing!! This is the perfect childhood best friends to lovers series I've ever seen and everything I've always wished for!! They did this so perfectly and the story was so well written and thought out! Plus, the two leads were so cute together.
The unrequited love was so painful to watch, but it had such a beautiful conclusion. I love that they flipped it and had her feeling the unrequited love for the last episode, helping her understand everything he went through during those 8 years. Not that its her fault she didnt feel something for him at the time, but I definitely feel it was necessary to help her realize her true feelings. I also love how she still felt the need to apologize for what he went through and wished she'd realized sooner. I just think thats a beautiful sentiment, loving and caring for him so much that she wishes she could have realized sooner so he didnt have to go through that pain for so long.
I adored this series and all the characters so much, even the side characters. Despite wishing I could've gotten more time all of them, I'm also glad they kept this the length they did. I feel like this was the perfect amount of time to tell this story and tell it well without dragging out the drama.
I wouldn't have minded maybe one more episode so we could've seen them act sweet together after the 4 episodes of pain, instead of getting just the one 'bonus track' scene at the end. Even without that though, I still really really loved this series!

I'm so torn on if I want to finish this series or not.
I really love the love story between the two of them, but I don't like anything else. There are only like 2 or 3 side characters I kind of like, other than them no one has left an much of an impression on me unless its me hating their character..
Honestly, other than the scenes that show them falling for each other or just being sweet together, I've pretty much been annoyed the rest of the time. After reading the synopsis for the rest of the episodes, I know my anger/annoyance is just going to get worse over the course of the series which doesn't make me really want to continue watching it.. I've also had the ending already spoiled for me so I know that it's a rushed ending which also doesn't make me want to finish it..
Part of me is tempted to just fast forward to all their sweet/cute moments because I really do love these two together, but I don't know if I want to waste my time watching the rest.

I'm honestly not sure myself.. I do remember when I first started this series that MDL said 10 episodes. I think it was updated at episode 3 or maybe epispde 4 to 6, but I'm not sure why.
There are only 2 reasons I can think of:
1, MDL just made a mistake on the episode count and somehow didn't realize it until a couple episodes in.
or 2, the company producing the series saw that this was not doing as well as they thought so they cut four episodes. I've heard of this happening before specifically with a series called Second Chance. Though with that series, I've heard some people say it was because it wasn't popular and other people say it was because of covid.. not sure which is true.
Regardless, I can't say anything for certain because I'm not 100% sure myself. If they really did cut episodes though, it sucks because while a lot of people don't like it I'm enjoying the series and I hate that the ending is going to be rushed now..

Yeah, sadly as far as I know Ja isnt acting anymore. I dont know if its period at all or if he is just taking a break, but I'm pretty sure people said this was their last series together 🥺

I didnt hate this series and I have definitely seen series that are worse than this one, but it wasnt the best.. I thought it was decent and good for maybe a one-time watch, but personally I wouldnt watch this again. Joong and Dunk did a great job with what they were given and though so many people hated Dunk's acting, I didn't think it was a terrible as other people said.
For me though, this series will always just be one big disappointment. As I said, there are definitely series that are worse, but this series had the potential to be amazing.. They pitched a story of Zo being inlove wih Nita and getting Joke's help to win her over, but ending up falling for Joke instead who harbors a secret crush on him. Thats the story that I wanted to watch and what I was so excited for!! Instead we get like 5 episodes of that, with barely any flirty/romantic moments to explain Zo's sudden feelings, and then just a bunch of random problems that they added in for time fillers..
To pitch that as the storyline in the trailer and then almost complete that storyline in 4 episodes and have Zo already acting on feelings for Joke is absurd. They could have had him realizing he was developing feelings Joke at episode 4 or 5 and get torn between the feelings he's always had for Nita and the ones he's starting to have for Joke. But to have him already acting on feelings he's barely had time to have in episode 4 when they've only barely just started to talk is stupid to me.
When done right, slow burn stories can be amazing and I feel like this would've been one of them. I'm just so sad it wasnt what I thought it would be.. I honestly believe if they had kept with the original Joke helping Zo storyline for at least 6 episodes and have Zo's feelings build up over the course of those episodes, this series would have been much better. I guess we'll never know now though 😔

I didnt like the scene with the dad either. He says all this terrible stuff about Joke, Zo defends Joke saying he isnt like what his dad thinks, and then we get a hug and suddenly its all ok. What the dad said about Joke was messed up and he didnt even really apologize, he just said 'Im sorry if you ever thought I didnt care about you'. That hug and saying I just care about your future, doesnt make up for the horrible things he said. Especially, if Joke's reaction to going home is anything to go by, he has been doing that his whole life..
The whole parental trauma they both had was added in too late in the series and resolved too fast for it to make for a good addition to the story. If they had introduced those problems earlier and had small moments through the series that reiterate those feelings, the ending "emotional" moments with the parents wouldnt have fallen so flat for me.
That's one of the biggest problems I had with this series, is all of these small random problems the popped up and then resolve the same episode. I don't mind issues resolving quickly if it's done well, but unfortunately in this series it wasn't. To me it just felt like a random mesh of issues they added in because they got Joke and Zo together too fast and they needed to fill time. If they had made more of the series about what the trailer said it was going to be about instead of finishing up that storyline in essentially the first three episodes, I think this series would have been a lot better.

Right! I will never forgive them for taking out that kiss scene where Joke asks Zo if he's ever kissed anyone and Zo's like 'wait a minute. dont tell me you are teaching me that' and then they kiss.. I loved that scene from the pilot trailer and was so depressed it wasnt used 😭 This whole series depressed me because it had the potential to be so amazing and I was super excited for what I thought it was going to be. But then they only ended up using the plot from the trialer in like 2 damn episodes 🙄 So sad 😔
