I don't have the energy to explain how much I disliked this episode and the preview for next week didn't help π The only part I'm going to bother with is: I'm so annoyed that KhonDiao is a blackbelt in Taekwondo, as far as I remember, but they still had to make him a fucking Damsel in Distress that needs to be saved π I was really hoping we were going to get a badass scene of KhonDiao beating the crap out of the four guys who tried to kidnap him, but instead he hits one person and then immediately gets grabbed and needs to be saved.. I know that he's small and they were bigger but seriously, are you kidding me?! What was the point in making him a black belt in Taekwondo then?? Side note though, I'm glad I was wrong about the dad.
I really want to like this more, and it isnt like its the worst series ever made, but Perth and Chimon just arent working in this series. They had insane chemistry, to me, in NLMG but its like it just disappeared in this series. It was decent in the beginning, but now their romantic scenes just feel awkward and the chemistry is nonexistent.. As I said in a previous post, they feel more like affectionate buddies than they do boyfriends and honestly thats mostly on Chimon.. I think Perth is doing a good job of acting in love, but Chimon is just not. Again, it just seems like friendly affection from him and because of that one-sidedness, to me they dont feel like boyfriends. Also I'm sorry, but that NC scene was uncomfortable to watch, I actually ended up skipping most of it, and Chimon looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to do a BL, but dont take the role if you arent going to act the part properly. At least kiss like you love the other person, thats what acting is! I'm super disappointed because on top of their chemistry deflating throughout the series, the story isnt anything like I thought it would be. At this point, the main reason I'm still watching is for Nava and Guy.
I'm guessing he maybe saw the guy (his friend or guy he liked) die in a car accident
I completely missed that the other was laughing, to me it look like he had a pained look on his face so thats why my brain assumed the worst.
Spoilers for Episode 2 below, incase you haven't seen yet!!
I'm so glad you were right and I was wrong though because while I do feel bad for Amane, and his friend laughing and assuming it was a joke is so messed up, its definitely less traumatic than what I thought happened. Seriously though, his friend is such an jerk! Amane had such a serious expression on his face and they earlier had just talked about how he doesn't date girls, why would you automatically assume that he's making a joke and laugh in his face.. I can't imagine building up the courage to finally come out to someone only to have them assume you're joking and laugh at you π₯Ίπ I can definitely understand why that would make him act the way he does.
They all feel like that for me π Every time the credits roll I'm like 'Wait no!!'. I swear, I dont think there…
I just meant when the episode is over and the credits appear. Credits roll or Roll Credits, is a phrase people use because usually credits scroll upwards when an episode/movie/game is over. Like the are rolling across the screen.
Thats exactly how I've been feeling too. I think it's partly because the series isn't what I thought it would…
Yup thats 100% what they are going to do and in my opinion thats bad writing. They should've continued the enemies to lovers longer, like you said, as well as continue with the menacing debt collectors. Even if its them just showing up when they are out and about or something, but they should've kept building the tension/fear they caused because it would've made for a strong impact when whatever is gonna go down does. To just have that storyline/characters disappear for a couple episodes until you need them again is stupid to me. i definitely get that maybe they decided the pilot trailer was to much for highschoolers, but honestly I didnt think anything to drastic happened that needed toned down except for the implied Sailom selling himself, but if I remember correctly that was in the actual trailer as well. On top of that though, there just seem to be a decent amount of pilot trailers that change alot once we get the actual trailer sadly. I try not to get too attached to a pilot trailers story because there is a possibility it could change, but I cant help it. Part of me has been tempted to stop watching when pilot trailers get released cause it usually causes disappointments later.. 100% would've helped the story alot if they had kept the enemies portion longer! Yeah, I'm not sure what it is, but it definitely didnt help since the plot is already lacking..
They all feel like that for me π Every time the credits roll I'm like 'Wait no!!'. I swear, I dont think there has been a series I've been as hooked on as this one. Waiting week to week for each episode is torture π«
Am I the only one is getting the creeps from that students dad, Chian or something. I'm praying I'm reading him wrong, but I keep getting bad vibes from him. Like 'I don't take no for an answer' and 'Kidnap you and keep you to myself' vibes under the pretense that he thinks he is "saving" a sad Khondiao. I really hope I'm wrong, but I get tense everytime he is on screen.
On a completely different note, I was so not prepared for that NC scene π³ Not gonna lie, that is one of the best/natural looking NC scenes I've seen so far. However, it doesn't change that fact that I was beyond confused for the entire episode. I thought I'd misremembered something from the last episode but luckily a comment further down cleared up my confusion.
When this show was announced almost a year ago, I already said that Perth and Chimon lacked any romantic chemistry.…
Sadly I have to agree. Personally, I thought they had great chemistry in the few romantic scenes we got in Never Let Me Go. At the beginning of this series though, they had decent chemistry but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Now, I've noticed as the episodes have gone on that it feels like the chemistry has gotten less and less. Like this latest episode, they felt more like affectionate best friends not like they were boyfriends which just kind of pulled me out of the story a bit I guess. On top of that the writing and plot is not doing them any favors. They rushed the enemies to lovers thing way too quickly, as well as Sailom forgiving Kang way too quick, and currently the danger is nonexistent. I feel like that may pick up in the next episode or two, but sadly the show isn't what I thought it would be and it's been a disappointment.
idk there's something about this series that's not really to my liking, but i can't seem to figure out what it…
Thats exactly how I've been feeling too. I think it's partly because the series isn't what I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be them being enemies for a while, during Sailom's tutoring, and slowly falling for each other while also dealing with Sailom's money issues. Instead though, the enemy part went out the window after like episode 2 and they fell for each other super quickly. Which felt really odd considering everything Kang put him through in the first couple episodes. I mean they did explain that a little bit in episode 9. They implied that Sailom had liked Kang before the events of episode 1 when they talked about the first kiss being lovehate. Still, it all happened way too fast. Another part of it for me is that though I love PerthChimon and thought they had strong chemistry in Never Let Me Go and the beginning of this series, it feels like their chemistry has been getting less and less each episode. I don't know why, thats just how it feels to me. Like the latest episode specifically.. To me personally, they felt more like affectionate best friends than they did boyfriends. I don't know why, I just didn't feel it this episode sadly.. I love them though and I'm interested enough in the storyline that I will keep watching.
it's a tough decision to drop a drama but in my opinion it's totally fine not to finish this one, this is the…
Sorry it took so long for me to respond.. The office politics - Wow that is super fucked up. I can't believe the other women would do that after she tried to protect them all! If I was one of those women, I would not be able to live with myself if I went along with that. I definitely would've been pissed off I had continued watching and got to that point! I'd ask how can you manage to put the blame on someone who was sexually harassed themselves, but sadly that happens in real life so it's definitely not a stretch..
Yes he is such an amazing actor. I've only seen a couple episodes of both series so far, but he is amazing. He is one of those actors who can act with just their eyes and you would be able to tell what the character is feeling. I'm always so awed by actors like that. He definitely one of my favorite Korean actors now alongside Lee Do Hyun and Rowoon. I've only seen both of them in one series as well, Lee Do Hyun who I watched in 18 Again, and was blown away by his acting, and Rowoon who I watched in Tomorrow. That was such a hard series to watch, but he did a phenomenal job! I have a couple other series I want to watch with them as main characters, I just have so many series I want to watch that I haven't gotten to them.
Yeah I love when I can have an adult conversation with someone with a different POV than me. It can sometimes even make me change my point of view on something if they point out something I didn't think of. I really enjoy these types of conversations. I will never understand why people get so angry about someone's opinion like it's the end of the world that they don't agree with you π For example, I am watching a Thai series called Only Friends right now and while I am lucky to not have come across assholes yet, someone I follow on twitter gets hate alot when they post their theories/opinions after the latest episode has aired. Apparently from what some people said, there is like wars on twitter over theories and opinions. Again thankfully I've never had to deal with that, but I just don't understand people's mindset and why they take some things so personally.. It baffles me lol
Yeah I got that impression as well it just also seemed like he didn't believe in it so him believing in the soulmate thing just didn't make sense to me.
Overall, the story was really cute, and definitely my favorite so far, but I thought Ep2 had a some random moments that really weren't needed. A couple times I was like 'what is happening..' Also, I'm sorry, but personally I found Emmy super annoying most of the time! However, I definitely prefer this type of female character to the 'evil woman' character that can't take no for an answer, that they have in series a lot of times. One thing I didn't understand is how Bud kept making it seem like he didn't understand why people believed his mom or like she was conning people, but then believed wholeheartedly that if he met someone 3 times they were his soulmate. I must have misunderstood something, otherwise it just didn't make complete sense. The other thing that didn't make sense is if Fong is pursuing Bud, the meetings are not a coincidence so he wouldn't have had anything to worry about it anyway. Also, the first time he ran into Korn hiding from Fong, that was a coincidence it's not like he knew he would be there, so I don't understand why that wasn't counted.. Overall, I really love the story and think this is the best one so far, however I do think it could have been better. These two are super cute though!! I'm holding out hope they get a different series together π
