Pretty typical historical idol romance stuff though. I’m at ep 32. I really hope the second ML doesn’t suddenly…
I haven't read the novel, but I hope Li Huai'an doesn't turn into evil 2nd ML...it would be such a waste. I don't think so though. They've set him up as a person trying to avoid both sides of the Li-Wei power struggle and someone who longs for the greater good.
if Changyu underwent any training b4 battle or it was her butchering skills, dad's gongfu, General He and Xie…
It's not as blatantly unrealistic as some other dramas, so it hasn't been a bit deal for me. I'm used to suspending disbelief for idol dramas in general.

I'm used to it with these types of shows, so it doesn't really bother me as much as others perhaps. If it were aiming to be a realistic war story or army story primarily, then yes, the training journey would need to be emphasized. I'm actually quite enjoying Changyu's overall character arc and story - much more than Xie Zheng's.
Pleasantly surprised at where this story and script is going at the halfway point. If the first part was a snowy dreamy romance, then this middle section is where we've all woken up from the dream and have to face reality. The world is complicated, wars are raging, and there are all kinds of complicated people out there.
Excited to see our Weiwei in a new project. But....Sighs...Edward Guo. 🤐😅I only ask that he please take…
Not a fan of the director's style, so like I said, cautiously optimistic. I wasn't aware of the other stuff (you can check ChunTian's post), which is also sighs.
