There are a lot of deeper themes being explored here - which was an unexpected surprise for me.

It took about 5 episodes before I really got into the story, but this is watchable so far. Hope this memory loss part doesn't drag on forever (only on episode 7).

Halfway through the novel, and it’s a great story - plot is engaging and the characters are interesting. This would make a great idol period drama.

But man, the amount of suffering the male lead has to endure is astounding. I can already envision all the blood the actor must spit for this role.

I think he can make any outfit look good lol.

The license was already issued back in October 2025. So yes, they are just messing with us now. Honestly, iQiyi could do with a win right now. And even if this drama isn’t the greatest, I doubt it will fail. The sheer combined power of all of the stacked cast’s fandoms will keep this one sailing far into the sunset in my opinion.

Nope, I’m in the US. But having watched c dramas for a while, it’s not uncommon to see weird delays in broadcasting shows that have already finished filming. There are probably multiple reasons. One being the review process to get approval for airing. Another is any fear of scandals (this can happen in other countries too). And probably money/political reasons of why certain dramas are prioritized over others. Unless you work in the industry, these would not be readily available to the public to know.

Happens a lot in C drama land unfortunately. It's a lot of wasted time and money for sure.

I don’t think this story needs a season 2, but that’s just me. This story had a nice beginning, middle and ending. Maybe another set of characters in this world?

No one knows for sure because nothing was ever officially announced or updated. All we know is that you can still make reservations for this drama, and iQiyi even posted something for Deng Wei’s birthday recently for the drama. But whether it is finished or actually airing this year is not clear. It does not have its distribution license yet, so until that happens, it certainly cannot be broadcast.

Looks like it will be in the 2nd half of the year. Why the constant delay after 3 years? Don’t know lol. I thought Youku was bad enough with keeping things on the shelf for years, but my opinion of iQiyi isn’t the greatest these days, especially after that weird announcement about AI at the recent conference…

As far as I know, no announcement of airing date for this drama, only rumors. I think the only one I know of at the conference is Fate Chooses You airing on Apr 25.

I think it's a spelling error here. As far as we know, GJM is not writing this drama, which I think would be a good thing. Hopefully the drama will honor the original work and not make outlandish changes.
