Checking this out. Loved the director's work in Blossom, and his touch is also very apparent here. Great at establishing atmosphere and tone without even using words.
It's been a while since I read it. Definitely enemies to lovers in the novel (but with a twist...won't spoil it).…
I think it will. IQIYI has promoted it. It would the worst business practice to promote something they aren't planning to release at some point. Then again, you never know with C entertainment. Weird stuff happens.
It's been a while since I read it. Definitely enemies to lovers in the novel (but with a twist...won't spoil it). Some might call it a bit of a toxic relationship, but they are both consenting adults. Not my favorite romance story, but I liked how both are strong personalities with clear goals. Love for each other doesn't primarily fuel their actions, but their finding each other and learning to help each other is a positive point of growth in the story. Could be better written, in my opinion, but it's a nice light read.
Best to watch all the way to the end to judge this one. Ep 34 finally felt like something director Yin Tao is capable of making: lyrical, a bit sad but with hope. There was potential in this story, and the technical departments were all there, but there are large gaps in the storytelling.
Are there any news about the state of this drama...??? 😕
Not really, but iqiyi just posted on instagram and Facebook wishing Deng Wei happy birthday and to stay tuned for this drama, so who knows lol. https://www.instagram.com/p/DVL9Qbyj8Sb/
This is my opinion so of course others will have their own: I have a few episodes left, so I have no idea about…
I find sometimes this director isn’t always the best with helping actors really hone their performances. But I also find the script lacking in proper development of characters, world and themes, so there’s not much for the actors to work with.
I really need honest opinions on this. Just about to start.. I am not a fan of Wang Xing Yue in costume series…
This is my opinion so of course others will have their own: I have a few episodes left, so I have no idea about the ending, but it's a watchable show mostly for the cases. Nothing groundbreaking there either, but it's not insufferable. As far as romance, I don't find it particularly strong here - nothing from the writing, directing or acting really does it for me, but again, it's watchable.
If you're watching mostly for Bai Lu, you can give it a shot. It is definitely mostly her story here, so she's featured front and center. I don't find the writing of the character or the revenge story particularly sophisticated, but Bai Lu has enough charisma to carry you through the drama.
