I have been wondering why kid SCH chose to take kid SMYs place as the lamp child. He is not someone to do it for no reasons.
Now that I am watching Epi 2 where kid SCH is lying injured in the field under the rain.

He says- "I owed you a hand" (which I believe means he owed a favour to kid SMY- correct me if my interpretation is wrong). Now I am repaying it with my life. It seems you got the better deal."

Later in the same episode, years later when SCH trying to kill himself so SMY could leave the Wailing abyss alive,
SCH again says 'I told that I would repay the debt I owe you some day'
SMY, 'I don't need your repayment. When you took my place as the lamp child, you already paid me'

This means SCH was ready to pay with his life for whatever it is that SMY did for him when they were kids. Now I want to know what????

I haven't watched DY or TBOY, but I am watching BR.
I don't think I have answers to any of your questions. All I know some of the common characters have already been and more will come in future episodes.

But out of curiosity I genuinely want to know. When you don't want to watch any of the shows, how is this information going to be of help? Please don't take me otherwise. Your questions are very specific which means you are seeking specific answers and at the same time you are not motivated enough to watch it. So I am just wondering why?

Exactly. It's torture. So better wait a few days. Binge watch is best for staying sane when it ends at the most crucial point because you know the next episode is right there. No need to wait for 24 full hours.

Ohh if he is not in TBOY then there are very high chances above scenario is how it is in Novel. That means we might see SCH vs Zhuo Qing. I am excited! Yeyy!!!

That's another perspective. But they do test your patience by either dropping a single episode instead of 2 like they did today, or end the episode at a cliffhanger- heights of cruelty!

I totally get it! it's just I am now super invested in it. I try to somehow accumulate a few episodes but every new trailer makes me give all such thoughts. We are already half way so you won't have to wait for long.

These episodes are actually packed with a lot of content, it is easier to be lost. I am lost half the times hahaha..

You are most welcome. If you begin after airing it will be so much less stressful, because waiting for 24 hours for new episodes is crazy. First time I am watching a show as it is being aired and I am not sure if I ever want to do it again :)

1. Who is the ML and who is the FL?
- SMY and BHH are main leads. But this story has just a dash of romance, because focus is on the brotherhood shared between SMY and SCH. So we can say there are two main male characters- SMY and SCH.
Another established pairing is MYM and TLY.

2. Does the ML and FL have romance? (I don't need severe romance/kiss, I just need to know that there's something between them, and they are like together or something)
-Yes there are hints of deep care and affection between SMY and BHH. No physical display of affection so far. Its more on the girls part, because she developed liking for SMY first, while SMY cares, protects and respects her. He feels the most relaxed in her presence. Only time he mostly smiles is when he is around her. They now also co-own a clinic because BHH is a doctor. So they do spend time together when SMY is not travelling for his mission.

As far as MYM and TLY is concerned. Its more like liking at first sight. MYM likes to tease and test his patience. Not much has been shown of these two so there is not much to define their relationship. But they belong to sects on opposite ends, not location wise but moral value as BR is an assassin organisation and the girl is one of the main assassins.

3. Is this BL hidden in bromance or actual bromance?
-No BL. Its deep childhood friendship, brotherhood between the two main male characters SMY and SCH. They are each other's family, can die or kill anyone for each other. Beautiful established bond shared between the two. Many flashbacks from their younger days have been added to show how they ended up being the best buddies that they are.

As far as I understood, nameless kids are sent for assignments as lantern children. These seem to be risky mission because young SCH was one and he was badly injured. This is like testing these kids, the weaker ones die, the ones who survive are further trained. I think once they are young adults, they have to go through fight to death contest in some place called Wailing Abyss. Out of a group of 10 nameless ones, the last one standing gets to be indicted into one of the three main families of the Blood River. Thats how they become a formal part of blood river.

No clue on MYM and TLY. I think they are a part of the other show, but haven't seen it. So no clue.. may be someone who has watched that show can help! Now I am also interested to know about them.

I began episode 1. In the very beginning where SMY is standing wondering why does he wield a sword, they show a flashback of him fighting a group of people (first glimpse of younger SMY with sword)
I have a feeling we might get a full fledged scene for this FB, and it is possible that's when SMY and SCH actually made their original pact which SCH kept reminding about till episode 10, that SMY will become the patriarch, and he will lead the Su family. Don't remember the epi but I think I remember SCH injured when he actually said those words to SMY. SMY may or may not have agreed. Just a speculation but I do want to see this come true.

True. But even if young SCH was different from how he is now (Honestly both of them have changed) there has to be a reason why child SMY? Why risk his life and become the lantern child, especially when according to the the guy in palanquin, SCH was the only kid who survived. That means being a lantern child was a life and death matter. What compelled SCH to risk his life, especially when he had a younger brother back in BR. I am very curious, but not sure if this will ever be answered in the show, or has any answer in the novel. Let's see.

Same here. I feel they will show if the above scenario is authentic. Some of the novel readers have mentioned that the show is sticking true to the novel so far. So, will wait to see how it goes.

SMY and SCH are destined to turn foes because their future is already shown in another show of this verse The Blood of Youth (set in future as compared to BR). How far will they go in Blood River is yet to be seen. But I am all prepared to these best buddies on opposite ends.

As far as love arc is concerned. There are only two properly established pairings so far-
SMY and BHH
MYM and TLY

MYM and TLY have not been shown much so far, so their isn't much to say
As far as SMY and BHH are concerned there is no surety as how they will end up because both novel and the anime version are incomplete, and BHH has no mention in the show TBOY. So can only wait and watch.

ohhh thats so cool! Then it makes so much sense that SCH didn't care about the info SMY from WanJuan Hall.
If this is authentic then we might actually see it happen in the coming episodes because Eunuch Zhuo Qing is here in the show. I hope it happens like this. Thank you so much for sharing this here, appreciate it!

Is there a mention of why SCH took SMYs place as a lantern Child when they were kids? Why did he choose to help SMY and not some other nameless kid? Any idea?
