Epi 18 According to SMY, our SCH has a talent to choose when to get drunk and when not. I wonder if he has just been pretend drunk all his life. How is one supposed to make sure if this little brat is drunk or fake drunk...😂😂
SMY may be the sword master but he is too innocent to know the difference. I am very sure SCH has been pretending all this while..

It must have been an year or so when I stumbled upon some BTS of the show and got to know that it's based on a novel and has an anime too. I had seen BTS scene of SMY and SCH on their horses. Loved the looks. And that made me to watch the anime version. Unfortunately it was incomplete.

Tbh I liked the anime, but I was not very sure as to why a production house will want to create a show on an anime. I mean what more could you do? Anime gives more freedom to the creator to do sort of unrealistic things, which may not be easily replicable in real life. Also I thought story wise what interest could it create when its already there in the anime.

Now that I am 19 episode deep into Blood River, my doubts, misconceptions have all been shattered. Now I understand if made in the right way a a show can actually be more exciting than the anime. If the team is right, they can surpass the actions shown via animated characters. Even if I knew the whole story of the anime, watching it in human form played by equally beautiful actors/actresses, it can still keep me on the edge.

Back then, I was disappointed that the anime does not have an ending, but now I am kind of glad that it did not because I possibly will get to see it in the Blood River.

The show is great example (for me) that if the right people are selected to play the right characters, if they all willing to give their best, then even human bodies can create actions that animated characters did. I mean look at the wire work all these actors have done, even the veteran ones. Their hard work and efforts is evident.

I had planned to watch it but did not expect to fall into a trap. The way I wait for the next episodes, it next level crazy. Never watched a show before it dropped all its episodes.

Episode 10 has the best scene showcasing their bond. The extent they both are ready to go for each other.

Saving the patriarch is long done. Surprisingly they were done with that by episode 10 or 11.
Actually they crossed anime story in entirety by episode 11 which was very fast and smartly done.
Now it is a about establishing new Blood River, free it from and clutch that forced them to be just a blade to be wielded.
Apart from this they are exploribg SMYs past as No Sword City's only descendant. A lot more is going on.
Plot has several twist and turns. Characters from other two shows have also made appearance.

Not contesting your choice. Just shared who I'd choose coz honestly I prefer living over dying. Also I will protect and fight for fhe cause of the person I choose and would expect something like that im return.
SCH is great, love him too but if given a choice my choice will be SMY.

I agree for novel readers it may be copy paste but for me its new content thats what I am trying to say. Because I have only watched the anime and that story got over by epi 11. But I get what you are saying as someone who has read the novel.
Also the author is same for this project so its reasonable for things to match.
I mean other book adaption that I have seen as movie the Dan Brown series like Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons. There also they have taken a lot of material off the books.

I love SCH as a character. He is fun unpredictable to watch. Brings adventure. However as far as following someone is concerned it will be SMY because he cares, he protects more than killing. If I am right, he won't let me a bait for his mission. He would lose than to sacrifice.
But with SCH, if time comes he may not think twice to fall a bait for his ambition.

Mu Ying now a part of Mu family. May appear when we see some major event where all family members are required.

Water official now a free man can decide to so what he wants. Guess he was a Su himself. So its possible in future he might show as a Su family member. If not he is a free person now.

It follows the anime as close a show possibly can, however they are done with the anime storyline by episode 10 and 11. Episode 12 onward as per the nover reader it follows the novel, and for those who have not its new story as compared to anime. So if you liked anime, the show hopefully won't disappoint.

I want to talk about the Arrow Guy. He helped SMY find the documents he was looking for and then burnt the WanJuan Tower, though his 3 masters had asked him to kill SMY inside the tower. So in way he didn't or couldn't follow his master's orders.

Now in episode 18 he is offering his services to the prince who is at least not on blood river's side.

Do you think SMY and the Arrow guy somehow joined hands while in the Wanjuan Tower that we do not know of yet? Something we might see as a flashback in a future episode?

Arrow guy didnt look like someone who would side the wrong team. Just a speculation.

By the way the actor playing the arrow guy os good. His action scenes with arrow were really good.
