Episode 16- SMY actually bought the 18th sword out for the 1st time. Also he said that 18th sword is about life and death not about win or loss. He actually defeated 3 family members all by himself and they only were alive because SMY did not want to kill. Else they wouln't survive.
Also if he looked weaker while fighting with the Arrow guy, then thats because 1. He did not have his umbrella sword. 2. He was recovering from the poison (even the Arrow guy mentioned that his real qi is unstable) 3. He was fighting with some random sword with the arrow guy and as soon as he got his umbrella back he was back in action.

Having said that they are also introducing other sword qi techniques which I feel he inherited from his father's sect.

In the scene where SMY goes to meet Yi Bu for the first time, the Eunuch Zhuo Qing sat behind the curtain. He had said SMY has immense Sword Qi, yet he is able to keep his killing instinct hidden. A ferocious sword that can devour even its wielder if SMY doesn't keep in check.

So i feel he is pretty powerful but he keeps things controlled, his first instinct is not to kill. but he can if he really has to. But every one has their own perspective.

He only brought out the 18th one in episode 16 and said its not about victory or loss but about life and death.
Also he had spared the 3 oldies because he is that kind even as an assassin.
Also SMY said he shouldn't left the 3 oldies live because they have seen his 18th sword.

Yes me too. I think I saw that in a clip shared today. I am prepared for everything. I just hope SCH is not the one to hurt her. Hurt BHH is bad enough, if SCH ends up being the reason that would be devastating.😭😭😭😭😭

I asked the same question yesterday. But we are not very clear on that yet. We know Eunuch was with Yi Bu but what made the chancellor jump into was not very clear. I thought he came on Xiao Ruofeng's request but as per my discussio that doesnt seem to the case because chancellor isnt someone to take sides.
Only reason I can think of is that he might have had some sort of prenomination which made him act. We might know of it in future scenes. I hope we do get to know.

Same here. No idea about the novel but whatever it is, itz going well so far

This is my first time watching him. But he is doing a great job as SCH. I am now excited to see his performance if SCH walks a dark path.

I am sure every actor would like to explore and also they have to choose from the opportunities that come across. I won't claim to know how Chinese Entertaining Industry works but this is guess true for every actor- they want to and have to explore. It'd be so boring to get stuck in one kind of roles, even if that role set a high standard.
I have not seen all his work, but I did not find Legend of Anle bad.
SMY in Blood River is very differnt role from WoH as well as LoA. Now that you mentioned these shows I think SMY has a few traits of both the characters from WoH and LoA, yet SMY is SMY not WKX, nor Han Ye.
Also this show is not just about SMY, it has many other characters which might interest you of you decide to watch. Trust me there are times when SMY willingly takes the backstep in terms of limelight. He is presence is always there but never overpowering.
Story is progressing at a good pace, fight sequences are well choreographed.
Rest its all about personal choices, you may or may not like, but thats upto you to decide 😊

I dont mind either. I would prefer an ending which gives a complete closure to the story of these characters without having to depend on TBOY for future story.
I actuallg watched a small scene of SMY and SCH fate from TBOY just out of curiosity but felt nothing. They weren't the SMY and SCH i know now. Thats why be it a sad or happy I would like to see it happen in BR.
They can merge the timeline with TBOY and may go beyond that- to see BR in peace finally.

I can see a lot of action, drama, angst, mystery waiting for us in the remaining of the show. They do seem to have a lot of new story to show. No wonder the show is paced so brilliantly. It will make me sad but I am looking forward to it.

Whoever this great elder is, I am okay and even expecting SCH to be on opposite side, but better he not do anything bad to BHH. Rest he can do anything as long as it adds value to the viewer's experience. GPT scenario if happens will be a heart break..

ooo.. i had no idea about SCH having a crush on MYM. or may be I didn't pay much attention to it neither in the anime (if they hinted it) not here in BR.
So I don't need to worry MYM becoming a full fledged enemy to SMY. thats a relief. Thank you so much!

I actually feel intrigued more than angry. Its like these comments give me some food for thought unintentionally. when I read them, I ponder over it, only to realise I like the show more. That's really a very twisted logic. but I enjoy. I remember having a nice civilised conversation too.
