Because SCH is his family. His best buddy, his brother. That's why he decided to stay back as Su family head, even when he had an option to leave after SCH became the patriarch. He knew SCH is driven by greed and too much ambition. He can easily land up into trouble like all the times SMY listed in epi 10. What worries him even more is that this time as patriarch if left unrestrained it wont just be SCH but every other member of BR who are willing following SCH, who will be dragged along. He may not be able to change SCH nature (just like SCH has not been able to change SMY) but he stayed by his side. As you watch further episode this dynamics will be more prominent. In today's episode SCH even said that he feels like SMY is the actual patriarch while he himself his SMYs errand boy. Like I also shared in another post, SMY is the wall/sheild that exists between SCH and all the madness that he is capable of if left unchecked.

They both are amazing. Truly amazing in their own ways. I am glad personality wise these best of pals couldn't far apart. Complete opposites yet like peas in a pod.

Honestly, I really really hope he stays the errand boy because that means he will always have SMY by his side to guide him, to stop him from taking rash decisions, to take charge when SCH doesn't need to like in today's episode when he fought 3 older family heads by himself. Because the day SCH loses that, he will loose his way. And I would be very sad to see when that happens. So my dear SCH enjoy being the errand boy because that means you have someone who cares for you and also that you have someone to care for enough to not mind being their errand boy.
Am I the only one who felt that the 3 old Su, Mu and Xie leaders exchanged weird looks before they decided to leave after their encounter with SMYs 18th sword.
SMY- that 18th sword.. Hao LiHai.. I didn't know all this while when SMY deployed 18 sword array, he actually used 17 swords. What all amazing tricks are hidden in that unbrella of your Su family master.
Totally love the plot twist here. I loved the scene where SCH explains that they don't want to eradicate Shadow Sect, TianQi can deal with them. BRs agaenda is to get its freedom and SMY chose the best way to eradicate all the secrets that SS is holding a levarage against BR. Destroy the secrets and BR is free from the claws of SS. Thats very smart move. Why invoke a huge war when they can achieve their goal by just burning a WanJuan tower abd get rid of all the records.
This will also open an opportunity for SMY to find out about No Sword City annhilation which is long pending wish- to bring back the glory of his birth sect and his father.
If the show decides to show, we may also get ro know about SCHs origins because Wanjuan tower seems to have all kinds of records.
I am so excited. We might enter a new story arc very soon. This is amazing.
