SMY as a character is working towards a goal to free Blood River and in today's episode we also got to know that besides BR he also has personal goal to bring his own sect back to its glory which was destroyed. He has no idea who did it yet. So there are elements in SMYs life but he is far from WKX from WoH.
SMY is calm, composed, silent observer, speaks only enough to bring across his message, only draws his weapon when igs most needed, he is not outspoken, very few things can make him smile, he is not a madman. A total opposite of WKX. So if you decide to dive it in the show you'll see SMY, not WKX.
You might find SCH a bit like WKX but SMY is not.

This is the first time seeing xiao ruofeng and like him so far. The way was so gentle while sitting alone in the travern, before SCH entered. Do not know his back story, but he looked peaceful yet unsettled with a hint of sadness. He is definitely strong but did not across as arrogant because the way he called his guard JieJie was very respectful. Like him and looking forward to more of his involvement in the plot.

These two really do have some great scenes. Enjoy them the most.

No not at all. Fight for patriarch's position is just one of the story arcs. It more about Blood River which had been an assassin organisation which is weilded like a sword by the higher ups to do dirty tasks for them for a very long time. Blood River raised kids as killer and there is no option to get out.
Two main protagonists Su Muyu and Su Changhe, the best of friends want to change this. They want Blood River to become a regular sect instead of an assassin group. They want the freedom to live normal lives like members of other sects so. This show is about their struggle to achieve that goal while showcasing the amazing relationship SMY and SCH share. Whether they are successful or not in their mission its yet to be seen.

Interesting so when we saw the flashback sceneof SMY with his father, that they'd go see the chanclellor they actually met.
And now the chancellor refuses to meet him. Is it because chancellor doesn't know he is the same kid? And he only knows SMY as the imfamous umbrella ghost- is this why chancellor refuse SMY an audience.
I am verg excited for the story to unfold.

I am sure TBOY is a good show. It would be really stupid of me to comment anything about it without watching it.
I only watched the scene between SMY and SCH where tge latter gets killed. So that scene did not evoke any emotion for me like I had expected. I thought seeing SCH dying by the hand of his best friend, only person who he could call family will be tragic, because I am very invested in these two characters since I saw the anime version. And now that BR has reacreated them in this show I an super loving their dynamics. Thats why I thought I will feel something watching that scrne in episode 36 of TBOY, unfortunately it didn't for various reasons-
1. Story of SMY and SCH must have been a side plot that's why such an important event in life of these two character began and ended like any other villian which is fair because SMY and SCH were not the focus of TBOY
2. Because I have seen the anime, so TBOY SMY and SCH almost had no resemblance. That's why they looked like strangers. Also they are their older selves in TBOY so I did not connect.

BR has done a great job in recreating the anime version thats why I feel drawn to them. Also BR is centered around their story so it grabs more of my attention.
Now that show has surpassed the anime storyline it is even more interesting because now I don"t know what next. So its kind of exciting.

I also feel BR annhilated the No Sword city that left SMY orphaned.
Whats the significance of astronomical bureau and the chancellor. I think scene was too short for me make some connections. Hopefull we'll more in upcoming episodes.

2-3 days back I asked a question about the age dynamics between SMY and SCH whether they are in the same age group or not. At that time (guess till episode 7 or 8) to me it looked like SCH is the elder one because the child version of him looked a bit olfer than SMYs child self.
However, post episode 9 SMY is givjng all the vibes of an caring elder brother and SCH a sort of unhinged notorious younger brother.

Depends on where in the timeline of this shared verse they decide to end the show. As this show is connected to another show released earlier but in future timeline than BR. Hence we kind of know what happns especially to SMY and SCH, yet cant be sure if this show will leave at happier/bittersweet note or follow through the end they already showed in the other show.

Totally liking how it is.

I think SMY belongs to Zhuo family of Swordless City and the person he saw in the flashback weilding the same or similar sword was his father, the City Lord.
Before being orphaned (would love to know how that happened) his name was Zhuo Yue'an (as mentioned in the cast list above)
In one of the scenes from the promotional material I remenver seeing SMYs dad sent him away from the city as a child on a wooden plank. May be thats how he ended up in the blood river as a nameless.
