I am so soooooo glad my first introduction to SMY and SCH in human form is through Blood River. Explanation below-
I just watched episode 36 of TBOY, because I was curious to what happens to SMY and SCH and how. WHY was not very clear because for that I need to watch the entire TBOY which I don't intend to anytime soon. But thanks to comments below I know what SCH did and why SMY did what he had to in this particular episode.
I was expecting it to stir something in me (that's really naive of me to expect from a section of an episode) but honestly, I felt nothing because it was like watching two strangers with name SMY and SCH in that TBOY episode. That was a major scene if taken from the perspective of SMY and SCH, but the way scene began and ended made it clear that in TBOY, story of SMY and SCH is just a side arc which is reasonable because focus of the show must be other characters. That ending must have closed a plot point in TBOY but did no justice to represent the relationship between these two friends (again reasonable because they are not the main characters of that show)
That's why I am soo soo soooo glad that after anime my introduction to human versions SMY and SCH is in Blood River. I hope BR and have been saying this again and again that BR should give a proper end to all the characters in BR itself, so that it's not mandatory to watch TBOY for those like me only interested in these characters.
I wouldn't wrong if I say SMY is the wall or shield between SCH and whatever disaster this impulsive man is capable of. In episode 11 & 12 SMY never tried to overshadow SCH in any manner, he gave the same respect to SCH like he did to 'Uncle Patriarch' but any time SCH acted impulsively he was there to hold back his dear friend he knows better than anyone. Loved that dynamic. SCH is a character who is expressive and loud not just with words but his actions are like that too. He is someone who acts and worries later. Where as why SMY is SMY is reflected in the moments when he steps to take charge any time he feels his childhood friend is losing the track. SMY is a character who has a silent presence, one who stays quiet, observes, evaluates, think 100 steps ahead, never lets the opponent know what he is thinking. SCH is full of will, energy, determination, courage but really impulsive. Thats why these two friends make this beautiful duo. SCH is the head but SMY is the planner or the brain behind BR- like SMY said he would go to TianQi alone and get the intel and then SCH can make a move. Because he knows for this task its not action thats needed its patience which SCH clearly has short supply of :) So looking forward to their brotherhood.
I think at this point their fallout is well foreshadowed it shouldn't surprise anyone.
I can see that happening. The way he reacted in the pawn shop said a lot. Not just his attention more on monetary valuables but the way his first instinct was to attack the 3 officials speaks how impulsive he is. That cant be a positive for someone who is heading an organisation like BR. No wonder SMY refused to leave his side when SCH gave him that opportunity. Lets see how things unfold here.
I haven't read it, but I guess the novel is incomplete. However, according to the other show TBOY, which as per…
Someone said the same thing while discussing the show. And it does make sense because it will give a proper ending where this show can be a stand alone for Blood river's story. No need to watch TBOY if someone is onky interested in this part of the storyline.

Yess. There are enough dialogues and instances so far. Biggest had been the conversation SMY told how SCH ends up being his biggest enemy because of how he is.
Hi I want to know 'Eighteen Sword Array' is the su muyu's strongest technique or does learn new techniques I just…
I think he is full of surprises because so far I thought Eighteen Sword Array is his strongest technique, but in today's episode the scene where 'crow' the messenger of of Yi Bu, SMY almost snatched his weapon while having tea. Also there was a man sitting behind curtains when SMY went to meet Yi Bu he also mentioned about his sword qi and all. Its my guess we'll see a lot more of him and his strengths.
The ratings on MDL aren't remotely relevant to anything though. The only reference as to whether a drama is successful…
The moment I found unreleased episodes rated (negatively/positively), I lost all the faith in these ratings. I mean we have people who can see future. I wish I could. Also reviews too feel meaningless because a few of them seem to be just bashing than critic. I mean I can understand 6, even digest a 5, but 1? I believe there is no option to select 0, that's why that 1. In what rational world would this be a 1? Such a pity though!
Thanks to the BR makers for introducing me to this lovely song -'Fortunate to Meet You'. Heard it in Episode 10- my favourite scene of SMY and SCH. I understood not a single word but it elevated the emotions so much for me, showcasing the strong bond shared between SMY and SCH. I later found it on youtube with English lyrics, no wonder it felt perfect for the scene even when I had no idea what it was all about. Now I am listening to that song on repeat. It feels like a soft lullaby. Soft and calming yet perfectly relates to these two boys.
Please tell me, according to the book What will happen in the end, will the two friends become enemies or will…
I haven't read it, but I guess the novel is incomplete. However, according to the other show TBOY, which as per the timeline happens in future compared to BR, they do end up on opposite ends if not enemies. I haven't seen that show so I cant really share any details. For BR we have no clue at what stage of storyline with the show end. Will they merge the story to TBOY timeline or end it before- will decide how these friends/brothers end up in BR.

I am glad I have no idea about TBOY so its going to be fresh for me, whichever turn the show takes.

However if you would like to follow the timeline then its DY>BR>TBOY.
