Oh do please read it. It’s worth your time, especially the dialogue and banter. The subs from wetv or Viki sometimes missed 2-3 words or they changed the entire meaning of a sentence, quite frustrating, so reading the novel and then watched the drama elevate it. Just to clarify, in the novel/ drama Jing was not rap*ed, he was drugged by good ol’ Grammy.He was only in the same bed with the bish. He used his power to control his “urges” because he will not surrender to someone in her bedroom and on her bed. Afterwards, Jing would feel very disgusted by it and tried to scrub away the 🤮memories. The person who had something to tell him was Hou’s wife, which was ki*led by him (novel FFYY did it). The sis-in-law hinted to Jing that the baby looked a lot like the late Grandpa(Hou look like him)

I agreed with your perspective! It took them almost 6 months to film this epic drama( usual is 3 months) April-September 2022. It showed in their post -production, only thing that was iffy was some of the CGI. The rest was 👏🏽. The scriptwriter was also the original author, so that helped out a lot to retain the dialogues. This is one of my favorite novel and the author and her team of writers did really well in adapting it into this drama

Hou is basically an unhinged person. He always wants to one up Jing when he found out he is not the biological son. He wants what Jing has-position, power, wealth, woman, basically heir to the throne. When he found out Jing is to be engaged to FFYY, he sought her out (FFYY actually fell in love with Hou first) and kinda seduced her. He got to one of Jing’s maid and several women that is closed to Jing to spy on him. In season 2 (if they followed the novel), XY when to see Jing after she found out he was the one to tell XL to take her away during the ceremony. He told her that he was suspicious his sister-in-law was murdered by Hou( novel FFYYdid it). Hou’s wife kept mentioning to Jing that the baby looked just like the Grandfather (hint:Hou looked like the gramps). XY devise a plan to have HOU and FFYY admit the kid is not Jing. HOU and FFYY meet for the first time in ten years and was recorded it on the ape mirror😮💨
