I’m one confused bitch after watching. My two BL worlds collided when I heard Korean and Thai spoke in the same scene but it all came crashing down violently after just 30 minutes. Just like how they say not to mix your friends, we shouldn’t mix our BL languages. At least not like this.
Poor Mew. He looked so confused all the time. I was like, me too, Mew, me too.
I just finished first episode and I got questions.
- Will this progress into something lovely and not cringey like History with the brother lover situation?
- I find it so unnatural for this type of brotherly into lovers romance . Will they prove me wrong? I know they’re obviously not related but they grew up together so how do you go from siblings to love interest? It’s like Go Ahead when the brother fell for his “sister.”
- When the teacher said “an older brother is like a father” it made me shudder at the possibility of a romance developing.
There was so much to like about this show, but like so many kdramas, the ending is just so stupid! Please, can…
I feel like they both needed the time apart to heal from everything. It wouldn’t be healthy to just jump into the relationship knowing how much their parents hurt one another. They needed time for everything to settle so they could come back and start fresh. It wasn’t so much a break up but just a break.
In my opinion, I sincerely hope this will be a remarkable adaptation and not just a remake. Korean dramas are known to be wonderful at slice of life and hometown vibes.
I think they do need to cut a few things out in order to fit all the drama into 16 episodes. Let’s start with less screen time for the awful mothers. Eliminate the ridiculous and unnecessary love triangle altogether. It was a completely dumb misunderstanding and it took up so much time.
She’s not any better. Monotonous deliver, blank stares, pissy face all the time
I thought she was great in Fight for My Way when she played a comedic role. I fee like these chaebol characters are written from the same copy and paste format over and over again so it’s not much for the actors to work with. That being said, i wonder if she’ll improve once the character shows more depth. I would’ve loved for her to be cutthroat boss bitch but also fair and reasonable. So far, we’re given power hungry spoiled brat.
You know what’s sucks? I started to find the FL absolutely insufferable and then I thought, SO MANY male chaebols are written like this so why do I hate her? Because for whatever “hidden” reasons, she chose to protect her husband behind his back instead of showing him the respect she demanded for him from others. She berates him in front of others and is absolutely repulsive in her overall spoiled, bratty and selfish attitudes. I know they’ll give us some remarkable reasons after to make us sympathize with her later on, but it’s a hard one to keep my interest. I’ll wait until it finishes so I can come back to see if it gets better.
On a positive note, it’s so fun to see SO many familiar faces and veteran actors in one show!
I just finished episode 3 & it’s all over the place for me. I wanted the FL to be more cunning, more ruthless and just more… revengeful? I feel like PMY is not right for this role (again, I’m only on episode 3 so she could prove me wrong later) but it’s not giving me the revenge vibe I wanted. It’s giving me rom com but I’m not laughing. I LOVED the FL in The Glory, Perfect Marriage Revenge and Eve so I was hoping for more. She had all the reasons to be completely enraged and she felt flat. She would get moments of confidence and then shaken up by retreating back to her hermit self. I would’ve released all hell on this bunch if I came back from the dead.
The ML. Oh the boring ahjussi ML. Why did they do him dirty with the awful hair, thick glasses, hideous ill fitting suits and monotonous delivery each time? I don’t care for him at all.
I might be watching on speed just to get to the revenge part. Sigh
