wow, I saw a Gif of the OTP doing the Pottery Scene ! reminds me of the scene in the movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. I bet that scene in Find Yourself was inspired by Ghost :)
How could the scriptwriters blemish such an interesting plot! The real Wu Zeitian was an interesting character,…
One of the main reasons I was about to watch this drama was because I thought the FL would be strong and such... but seems like not :/ I'm glad I came across your comment or else I would have given this drama a try. I hate how so many historical dramas makes female leads so weak and naive despite the character they play are based on real life people who were actually strong, cunning etc...
Do you have any suggestion for a great historical drama with a very strong and cunning FL? :)
Seems like many had second lead syndrome while watching this and I heard it's even a sad ending for the SML. So I guess I might have second lead syndrome as well when I watch this and cry for the SML :/ But neverthless I'll still watch this drama because I heard how strong and smart the FL is! That's the MAIN reason I want to watch Story of Yanxi Palace, not for the romance.
I haven't watched this since it's still not yet on netflix in my country (but will be soon I guess). For you who watched this, how is it so far? Good, average, bad...? Is the chemistry between the leads any good?? I really hope so, because it's no fun watching a drama where its main genre is romance if there is no chemistry between the OTP...
OMG I'm sooo happy, I just found out that this drama will be on Netflix in my country too which means it's subbed in my language!! :D I come from a country where english isn't the native language, so I'm not fluent at it. I really didn't think it would be on Netflix in my country since there are not many chinese dramas there, only like maybe 3 or so, so far... so imagine my surprise! Yay even more reason to watch this now ^ ^ can even watch it with others who's english isn't fluent either :)
Will watch this drama ASAP when it's subbed in sites that are available in my country, I love me some Noona romance ;) I was literally in shock when I looked up the actors real age, Victoria Song is 12 years older than Song Wei Long (big age gap) but she at most looks 3-4 years older than him lol! What is her secret to look so young?? In most Noona romances where the actress is a lot older than the actor IRL too you can totally see that, for exemple in the k-drama "I hear your voice" , one can clearly tell that the FL is older than the ML there (not that she looks old, definitely not, just that she looks visibly older than the ML).
Anyways, I'm glad they casted here actors that has a big age gap IRL too, I would have been dissapointed if the actors were around the same age despite them acting as older woman/younger man in the drama.
I HATED how weak the FL was, how she always obeyed her HORRIBLE mom even if it meant hurting her boyfriend (the ML). I don't care if its a cultural thing, I have seen female leads in k-dramas who are far stronger than her (that doesn't go around obeying their parents when it comes to their love life for exemple, etc). This drama was such a huge dissapointment, the second half that is.. first half was gold.
Also, I don't blame the FL's dad for having cheated on her mom, because the mom is just so bad, all she does is treating both her husband and daughter badly!
If you are in mood for a love story that is epic, touching and deep then The Princess' Man should fit you perfectly. The chemistry between the leads is amazing and so natural, you can really feel how much they love each other. One of my all time favorite couples in dramaland! Also, Se Ryung is such a great female lead! She's strong, righteous, brave, loyal, kind... without ever being bratty or annoying! Se Ryung comes from a time when women held no power/basically had no rights but yet she fights for what she believes in is right! The whole cast did an amazing job potraying the characters, they are all deep and complex. Like for exemple, Se Ryung's father prince Suyang is very ruthless and would do anything to become King, but he still has a soft spot for his family, especially Se Ryung who he holds very dear. Seung Yoo is another perfect exemple of a complex character who starts out as an carefree, nice and charming Scholar but develops to an tortured outcast full of hatred and revenge! I can't come up with anything to complain about, everything in my opinion is perfection. This drama is not a romcom, so if you don't want your heart to hurt or if you don't want to shed tears, then avoid this lol.
The Princess' man is considered the Joseon version of Romeo and Juliet, but I find this drama a thousand times better when it comes to the love story of Se Ryung and Seung Yoo than that of Romeo and Juliet. The Princess' Man starts out as sweet and lighthearted but by each episode gets darker and darker until the story is full of blood, sweat and tears with never ending suffering. This drama is such a roller coaster full of emotions that makes one feel anger, pain, nervous, stressful... but also that will make one feel deeply touched, because in midst of all the bloodbath, there is loyalty and love so deep.
I have watched many dramas that were forgettable, that were not memorable enough for me to leave an everlasting impression, that didn't get to have a special place in my heart... But The Princess' man is one of the few dramas I watched so far that has left an everlasting impression on me and to have a special place in my heart <3 I don't think I can ever recommend this epic drama enough!
Loving it so far!! It's not a perfect but overall it's such a entertaining show with many iconic moments :) it has also one of the most memorable / sassiest female leads in dramaland, not to mention Do Min Joon *swoon* is so swoon worthy... maybe for some it gets some time to warm up to him due to his cold/stiff behavior, but as the show progresses, one will see depth in him... The actor Kim So Hyun is so great at showing subtle expressions that speaks volumes! He has great chemistry with Jun Ji Hyun and they make a gorgeous pair on this show :) I haven't finished yet YWCFTS but so far it's been a great ride :) I admit that a few years ago I watched a few episodes of it but stopped as I quite didn't understand its hype... but now when I give this show a new try I like it so much more and can see how unique it is! I now understand why it gained such huge fame :)
I'm hesitant to watch this... I wanted to give this a shot because after watching Secret, I was recommended this…
I haven't watched it yet, but I saw a clip where the ML kisses the FL after a fight, she doesn't fight back... and then they're in bed (obviously slept with each other), the FL is crying and the ML looks troubled. Some will say he raped her and others will say say she was willing.
Ok so I will give this a chance because it does look interesting and I heard the FL here is awesome and that she has amazing chemistry with the ML. Generally speaking I hate abusive male leads but in here the ML has a valid reason for not being nice to the FL (not saying he has the right to treat her however he wants tho) I mean she did kill his fiancee and doesn't even get punished by the law , so ofc the ML will be veeery pissed off. I just hope the ML is not TOO over-the-top crazy like in so many other slap/kiss lakorns (for exemple in Sawan Biang)... let's see :) who knows, maybe surprisingly I come to love this one like many others, I might write a review after finishing watching Kleun Cheewit.
Also, those hate-to-love/ revenge stories does interest me, the ML and FL in those kind of stories has usually great chemistry and lots of sexual tension going on ;) and everyone says the ML and FL has lots of sexual tension in Kleun Cheewit :D it's even one of the tags... even more reason to watch this one! ^ ^
I will watch this one, but I heard somewhere that in this version Dao Ming Si is not about to get hit by the chair, thus there will be no Shan Cai who protects Dao Ming Si from getting hit resulting in her getting hit by the chair instead... is that true? :( It would be a HUGE mistake not including that scene in my opinion...because that scene (which is in all the other versions) is very important, showing how much she has come to care about him.
