He's very handsome! Good actor too. He kind of reminds me of Simon Gong from Advance Bravely.

I love the direction of this series. The way the give us sweetness, then dip us into sadness for just long enough for our hearts to start to break, then they pull us back into the romance. And the characters are written so well. <3 I wish the episodes were longer, but I'm still happy we at least have five more to go.

Ai and Ni are hilarious. I'd probably watch anything Mike/TopTap as a cp and Mike's facial expressions kill me.
And while his character Na is set to be a cheesy douchebag, I'm SOO happy to see Neo Trai in a BL again. I thought he was so sweet as Gord in 'Cause You're My Boy/My Tee.

He only badmouths gays when they try to hit on Chon. He actually goes out of his way to say he has nothing against gays in general, just that he doesn't understand them...which is probably why Chon doesn't feel so bad about still having a crush on him. He has a strong case of fragile masculinity, but homophobia...not quite...at least not that the show has shown explicitly.

Men very often have to prove their masculinity by being able to successfully lure a woman unfortunately. I don't know how old you are, but it's a very common thing especially for young adults.

I don't know if a female being portrayed as a villain for "no reason" fits the context exactly. Ton is one of the school's hottest (straight) guys. Amp is his ex gf who isn't over him. If Amp was just another gay guy at the school who happens to have a crush on Ton and badmouths Chon all the time for being so close to Ton....would that be more acceptable? If so, why?

I feel like Tohon's character is supposed to show the buffoonery of subconsciously closeted men. Tohon is clearly gay/clearly has attraction for men. Many people see it except him. That's the comedic irony of it all.

BL is in fact a genre to itself, not just a general name for tv/film that showcases homosexual love between men/boys. That wasn’t on the director either evidently since he went out of his way to say this is categorically not BL.

Without diving too much into semantics, though, I do see your point and agree. We could with a more less cliché Thai BLs.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but this is really good, but isn’t coming off as “BL” per se...it’s almost a little reductive that people are even putting it in that category tbh..

The plots of BLs are rarely, if ever, mysterious. If they are exciting it's because of how the plot was delivered by the actors, not the plot itself. This drama was a glimpse into the beginning of a romance, not a full-fledged love story. The questions you mentioned really didn't need to be answered so directly in order to be able to understand the characters. There were many subtle points in which the characters' personality traits were delivered quite well.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that high production quality, good acting, and good chemistry between leads are things that are well-appreciated by a fans of a genre (Asian BL) which more often than not doles out poor to mediocre production quality, awkward chemistry at least 50% of the time (in spite of the genre itself being a romantic one) and debut actors' fumbling over poorly written scripts.

Yeah, the plot of this one was basic, but literally everything else excels, so I don't think it's 'overrated' per se, but rather very well-received in spite of that basic plot aspect.

If we really got Perth and Saint back in season 3, I'd definitely watch. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the writers could actually manage to pull of a good script and plot though...hopes aren't high for now.

Could it be that that aspect of the Tul/Hin relationship isn't included in the TV show because it's purposely not meant to exist in the live version of the story? Maybe the viewer isn't meant to judge the live version of the story in tandem with the novel anyway, so people supporting Tul/Hin shouldn't really have to consider the novel to begin with.

If they did a third season and had Tul/Hin as a side couple again and we got more insight into their background and it shows all the abhorrent sh*t the novel has, then I think we'd be justified in canceling them, but for now their arc hasn't been presented in such a way to lead the viewer to believe that their relationship is toxic.

On the other hand though, if they were interested in being not as...icky with their couples in the live version, they could have rewritten the Kla/No arc too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
