I don't know how I feel. I like the actors so much, so I don't want to say this is terrible, but this show now also has very little redeeming itself. Episodes 7-10 were fun, though.
before the actors and all the supposedly called hot scenes...this was one of the worst way of handling a plot…
The acting and the chemistry (not even just the sexual) between the leads are what made this show as popular as it was/is. I personally like it, but I still see how problematic it is.
I'm six episodes in and I REALLY want what you're saying to be my feelings after the shows over, but rn I still…
She wasn't trying to give them scar on purpose, but she honestly didn't seem to show much remorse (read: no remorse) for it after. I'll take it cuz she was somewhat justified in wanting to stab the man trying to kill her father, but still...
And the brother getting the dream job was contingent on her gaining more attention from GT.
I like the the characters with faults too and I love MY. I just feel like her actions get more romanticized than they would if she were a man. If all this stuff were happening to a woman by a man in this show, I'm sure someone would have called the police by now. lol

I feel the total opposite about the gender thing. It's not necessarily her attitude, but her actions. I've never seen a drama in recent times where the guy gets away with something like leaving a permanent scar on a woman, causing her to almost lose her job *multiple times* and often times deliberately, or specifically manipulating her younger sibling in order to get her to live with him/spend more time with him. I feel like if there were a drama and a man did half of the things MY has done (from what I've seen so far), people would be very, very disturbed or at least find the guy to be a jerk. *shrug* I dunno...maybe I need to watch more dramas. lol
I love how people judge MY for being manipulative, yet forget practically everyone is, to get the best outcome…

However, I can't shake some thoughts: What if the roles were reversed? Would we still have the same hype? Is it it possible she's getting a pass for a lot of this because she's a woman?
I couldn't imagine them being a couple. But it works surprisingly well. They seem real and believable to me, despite…
Ep. 9 when Tin and Can are sitting on the couch. Can is eating a string-like snack. Tin starts eating it from the other end until they almost kiss. Just like in the movie The Lady and the Tramp when they're eating the same piece of spaghetti.

I like how that phobia works for him at some points throughout the show too, though. Particularly in this last episode with the Lady and the Tramp scene which I loved.
Unpopular opinion this week, it seems, but the show has been getting exponentially better (since episode 7). Mean seems more real and a bit more relaxed than before. Can as a character is humorously and shamelessly sex-hungry. Tul is moving in to f*ck sh*t up. We have better acting, more chemistry, and a real face-to-face conflict. Ladies and gentlemen, the show has begun.
They just need to not totally drop the ball for the next three episodes and I'll be satisfied.
Also, Is it too early to start rallying for a Tul/Hin season 3???
so sad that every beautiful series are short. Can someone recommend a Japanese BL that is also related to this?
I'd also recommend 30sai made Dotei dato Mahotsukai ni Narerurashii (which is currently airing) and What Did You Eat Yesterday (technically about guys in their 40s, so not "BL" per se, but it has the same vibe and it's just beautiful).
Same, not all of the manga volumes are available and who knows if the show-runners would change things up .
I haven't read any of the manga and I haven't read anything about what happens in it at all, but these first two episodes are setting this series up to potentially be the best of the year. If we get what I'm expecting, which is a well fleshed-out (not necessarily sexual) romance, more relatable emotional struggle/angst, and well-timed comedy, I really think it may be the best of the year imho. That said, BL, like everything else this year, has been kinda crappy, so it won't be super hard to achieve (also imho).
Pretty sure he did...as he usually does. His spoken voice is so nice and his Chinese accent is clear, despite being from a place in China known for having a very strong accent.
