A decent save, but I could have done without Dim and Green. Wasn't interested in their aspect of the series to begin with, but the fact that they take up so much time made it worse.
Run Yu was the best that anyone could hope for as the result of abandonment and abuse as a child. He had tact, ambition and broadmindedness. Jin Mi didn't deserve him and it was mostly his stepmother that increased all of his faults. The main reason I could never become a fan Xu Feng is because of how doggedly he defended his evil mother. He's a selfish caricature of a hero.
this girl ACTUALLY out here being a detective over some thai bl drama, IM WEAKKKK-- are you done venting? spamming…
Over 6000 comments here. No one's forcing you to read mine, agree with them, or reply to them, sweetheart. lol You're doing that all on your own. You're being quite the hypocrite tbh, but that's your business. I'll leave you to it.
Breaking the fourth wall, excessive amounts of screaming/squealing, "cheesy" laugh tracks, and just general over-the-top cheesiness all have a very long-standing place in the campy indie gay film world. People even remotely familiar with that world, very easily understood what this series was trying to do. It may have gone over the heads of the people who made it to this series just because of Talay though.
In general, no, but the Kengkla/Techno arc of the story is extremely problematic.
Fortunately, that aspect of the show really doesn't take up a lot of camera time at all, so it's kinda easy pretend it's not there, but yeah. Perth is adorable in this series, so is Saint.

Kla pays his best friend (who also happens to be Techno's brother) to essentially help Kla stalk Techno before raping him and then manipulating Techno into thinking he had taken advantage of Kla instead of the other way around. Pretty fucked up.
Other than that single aspect, this is one of my favorite BLs of all time.
U must have been through a lot on 'defending' the gay rights as it makes u being sooo skeptical to even slander…
I wasn't gonna comment, but here I am. Disclaimer, I don't agree with the OP at all, but seriously? LGBTQ documentaries give false messages to audiences now? You're really two-for-two on your "I like to watch gay people on TV, but shut up about LGBTQ issues" theme here. lol
It's coming off like you either 1) don't think our (LGBTQ) voices are important or 2) that this series is above criticism.
Agreed. To many toxic people here. Always talk about LGBTQ education. Some people just want watch a BL drama as…
Did you really just imply that we should ignore the intricacies of the portrayal of lgbtq people (which are already largely glossed over in media) in a chart-topping international show that focuses on THREE gay couples? lol K.
Cinematography is great. I love early 2000s indie film vibes. The acting is also on point, especially Shane's character, but I just don't like the story. It's told well, it really is, I just personally don't like that basically the whole plot is too heavily predicated on the fact that Carrie consciously ruins Jonathan and Shane's friendship. If she didn't exist or made more considerate choices, we could have had a much different and, in my opinion, better movie.
