I like how that phobia works for him at some points throughout the show too, though. Particularly in this last episode with the Lady and the Tramp scene which I loved.

Unpopular opinion this week, it seems, but the show has been getting exponentially better (since episode 7). Mean seems more real and a bit more relaxed than before. Can as a character is humorously and shamelessly sex-hungry. Tul is moving in to f*ck sh*t up. We have better acting, more chemistry, and a real face-to-face conflict. Ladies and gentlemen, the show has begun.

They just need to not totally drop the ball for the next three episodes and I'll be satisfied.

Also, Is it too early to start rallying for a Tul/Hin season 3???

I'd also recommend 30sai made Dotei dato Mahotsukai ni Narerurashii (which is currently airing) and What Did You Eat Yesterday (technically about guys in their 40s, so not "BL" per se, but it has the same vibe and it's just beautiful).

I haven't read any of the manga and I haven't read anything about what happens in it at all, but these first two episodes are setting this series up to potentially be the best of the year. If we get what I'm expecting, which is a well fleshed-out (not necessarily sexual) romance, more relatable emotional struggle/angst, and well-timed comedy, I really think it may be the best of the year imho. That said, BL, like everything else this year, has been kinda crappy, so it won't be super hard to achieve (also imho).

This show is off to a fantastic start. With 10 episodes left to go, I'm really excited to see which direction the story's gonna go in.

Pretty sure he did...as he usually does. His spoken voice is so nice and his Chinese accent is clear, despite being from a place in China known for having a very strong accent.

I think a lot of them know gay love isn't like this....they just don't care. That's my own assumption, anyway. I'm not one of them, so I'm not sure.

bbby14 gave you the real answer. The easier answer is: don't worry about it and just start from episode 7. haha For the first six episodes (particularly the first three) you'll be constantly having a feeling of "Wait, didn't I see this before but differently?"..pretty annoying tbh

^That's what I'm saying. Many of the famous classical hetero romances of ancient history begin with the female lead in her mid-teens. People just don't film it that way because it makes them uncomfortable in away that they're somehow OK with being made uncomfortable by gay people because gay people simply being gay (read:deviant) makes them uncomfortable anyway.

Tbh those uncomfortable aspects made them movie more real. Ancient history wasn't sunshine and unicorns. Also, none of it was glorified, so I don't understand the griping.

Didn't read the manga, but it's nice to get back to the cutesy, cheesy style of BL shows that Japan has always done so well. ^_^

I agree with BlackMonk. Tbh I wish I would have just put this off until the season was over and just started from episode 7 after reading the comments here. This is what we've been waiting for the whole time anyway. The rest is just an (unnecessary) alternate reality, sad Ae very few TulHin scenes.

I remember seeing him in Fighter of the Destiny three years ago and thinking, "Wow! He's so handsome!" only for him to be in BL/bromance a year later and I'm JUST finding out about it NOW. UGH! Now to binge SCI.

About China, it should be noted that the people don't really have a representative government. With that in mind, I'd like to say from personal experience that most Chinese are indifferent, if not supportive of more LGBT+ rights. There are always polls online here about and people routinely vote in favor. Will the government ever do anything about it? Not within the next couple of decades, I'm sure. LOL (but seriously, it sucks) My point is: please don't be under the impression that your average Chinese is a homophobe.

Also, see: the wealth of 'bromances' that have been made in China over the past few years. They're 'bromances' because the government says they have to be, but the novels they're based on (which got so famous throughout the country they decided the tv adaptation in the first place) are GAY, GAY, GAY. lol
