I don't follow those incidences a lot. Might you share more what happens? Those Chinese netizens used to do the…
It's really stupid. Long story short: Bright *retweeted* a photo that had Hong Kong listed as itself (an independent region, not as "Hong Kong, China"). They got offended. He apologized (even though he didn't need to do and shouldn't have done), but then soon after some Chinese people dug up a post from his gf (NOT him) criticizing the Chinese government about their handling of COVID-19. THEN they went further (back to 2017) to dig up a post on IG (I think) she made wearing hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) while in Taiwan. Apparently, Bright commented something to the effect of "Wow, pretty just like a Chinese girl" and his gf responded with "No, like a Taiwanese girl" (or something like that).

It's really, really, REALLY ridiculous.

Being in China, I get the whole sensitivity about Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc., but what too many people here fail to realize is that: 1) The government lies and fabricates everything. and 2) We're literally the only place in the WORLD where people generally see Taiwan as a part of China or even as a 'disputed' area.

It's a mess, really. lol

It's ridiculous. It's not as bad as the Xiao Zhan scandal, but still extremely absurd.

Did you read any of the comments? LOL The level of pettiness Chinese netizens are at will never be surpassed...ever. They're literally like "Oh, you should have put a monkey's face or a pile of shit instead of a flower." "I just reported another video I saw of Bright. No reason, but no idol comes before the nation. Resist."
Like...HOW?! lol

The only good thing I can see come out of this is Win getting a lot of attention. haha In every other country, most people are head over heels for Bright. But then...are hyper-nationalist netizens the fanbase Win would really want to have?...maybe not.

On HIStory3: Make Our Days Count Aug 21, 2020
I loved this drama, I swear I did, but something about the execution could have been a little better. It's not the fact that Yu Shi Gu dies and it's not even that the death is sudden. It's the fact that the moral of the story is: on one hand, we should work hard and not waste our time (Yu Shigu), but we should also enjoy each day for the beauty it has (Xiang Haoting) and the way the decided to drive this moral of the story home was to kill off Yu Shigu.

I found that to be sloppy because 1) he really didn't have to die in order to get that moral lesson across and 2) even if he did need to die, the story should have OPENED with that, then explained how it all happened. That way, the audience could appreciate everything the couple goes through and could even 'grow up' along with Xiang Haoting.

Without knowing that Yu Shigu is going to die at the end, many who watch this are so angry/disappointed that he died in such a way after such an uplifting story, that they missed the whole point of the drama which is: live each day to the fullest. Putting Yu Shigu's death at the end so suddenly really doesn't allow that message to be conveyed well.

I am done with HIStory 1 and 2. The comments are scaring me. I avoid tragic endings like the plague. I will watch…
Unlike some series, I think knowing the ending of this series before watching puts the story in better context. It doesn't make it less sad, but it makes you appreciate the story and the development a lot more.

I knew that cousin dude looked familiar! He was from History 1 Stay Away from me. I like how HIStory likes to…
I noticed that too! When he was like "You don't remember me?", I literally yelled at my computer "Hey! I do!" LOL

On Life: Love on the Line Aug 20, 2020
Loved it. The lighting, soundtrack, and production quality were especially good. The second episode was probably my favorite of all. The little 'surprise' at the ending was ruined by reading the comments here before finishing the drama, though. lol I always try to get an idea what the drama will be like by reading the comments, but that backfires sometimes. Ah well...

This is a lifesaver. Glad I saw this comment only a few episodes in. I've been trying to get through Kiss Me Again…
I was just a little curious about the other couples, but this comment confirms that I did well to just watch the gay cuts. lol

They didn't really get together in 2gether, Drake friendzoned Frank
I actually saw 2gether first. I liked this couple, so I came to MDL to see what other stuff they were in and I found this. So for me, it was like what I wanted to happen in 2gether, I got to see happen here. lol

I really liked this series. It hit all the right points for me. The story was decent, the acting was good, the scenes that were supposed to tug at my heart strings definitely did. I also really enjoy Ohm and Singto together.

A word of advice to the BL fan who needs it though: don't watch this alongside or right before/after Until We Met Again...the emotional weight is a LOT. )':

Title He's Coming to Me Spoiler
[Disclaimer: this is my personal (unpopular) opinion, let's all be respectful]With all the good comments and reviews…
Really interesting opinions. I don't really have a response to point 1 since that seems like a very personal opinion. For point 2, I think as far as Thai BLs that involve a lot of deep, sad emotions, this one kinda deserves the credit. There were some scenes when I wasn't convinced (like part of the scene where Thun gets the grandpa to admit), but for the most part, the acting was good (again, within context of Thai BLs, I think). To point 3, I agree, but I don't think I ever found myself bored while watching. To point 4, I really don't think that part was meant to be taken that seriously? Even with the way Mes says "Oh, a little" it seems very plainly written on his face: "What a creepy thing to say, Thun, but I'll indulge your weird joke." lol

Makes me crazy when he keeps saying that, I’m a gay guy, never in my life have I heard a guy say that to another…
I think it would make more sense if Tine were like muscular and had pecs or if he were a little fat, but making a joke about grabbing the "boobs" of a super skinny guy is just weird...and Sarawat always seems so creepy about it. lol The fact that it isn't funny is what makes it funny to me...if that makes sense. hahaha

Two other mainland China bromances that's really good: "The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty" and "S.C.I".I like "Handsome…
I have the EXACT same complaint. Addicted's ending was the worst it's ever been. I think they fully intended to make a sequel, but weren't expecting the widespread success and attention that it received in China and the consequences of that, which was the gov't banning it.

It's really, really sad (and ironic) to say, but: if Addicted weren't SO popular, it probably would have gotten a sequel. Look no further than Like Love. That was low budget and showed intimate scenes like Addicted, but the lead actors didn't have the looks of GuHai and Bai Luo Yin, so it was popular enough to get a sequel, but not popular enough to get a decent amount of mainstream and government attention.

i long let go of the bl angle. i just watch it for the pure eye candy.
I'm banking on getting my satisfaction from the side couples. I'm rooting for Man/Type and I need Mil/Phukong to actually happen so it can bring back my My Tee feels. I swear that show wasn't good, but the chemistry sold it for me.
