now that his summer movie is out, it's pretty safe to say (although still not 100% confirmed that this is the reason) that it's bc he had some type of agreement/contract that his first on-screen kiss would be in the movie. the movie was shot last summer after tlb finished filming but he was signed onto the movie before he agreed to tlb; he signed onto TLB as a last minute replacement, they just waited for him to finish filming tlb before they shot the movie.

havent read the novel. may or may not decide to watch. i personally find YY to be really bland but a lot of people say he's the perfect fit for the Yu Tu character..
seems like it will be a really popular drama, hope it does as expected for them.

i think this is quite fast pace especially in the early eps for a chinese historical drama. don't know if that's a plus or minus for you but i really enjoy the pace bc for dramas i've watched, usually it drags out so much in the early eps before you get to the main story that i often have to force myself to get past that and continue to watch

it is part of the 'job' afterall lol
we don't know if he actually had a no kiss clause and if they weren't anticipating his first kiss to be in his movie at the time of filming TLB (the whole birds, etc could've just been something they came up with in editing), i don't see why they wouldn't have actually kissed even if it was just a innocent peck
