I feel conflicted bc technically it had potential but the execution failed horribly imo. The first 10 ep felt like filler and the rest was weirdly chaotic. The show should’ve been a murder mystery starting with the death and everybody being a suspect with suspenseful flashbacks that would slowly showcase the characters and their motivations and relationships with one another. Unfortunately that wasn’t it at all. The overall pacing was way too slow, the characters unlikable which would be fine if they weren’t boring as well. Nothing and nobody was truly memorable apart from maybe Miss Susie - the only good actress here.
I thought it was watchable up till ep 9 but then they dropped the ball on ep 10. What in the hell was that all about? How come every character acted completely randomly and fully out of character??? That ep alone made rate the whole thing below a 6. The rest just dragged at a weird pace… Also Don’t get me wrong, I like gl but the sudden romance (more like one or two random scenes) came completely out of nowhere?? There was no build up to it whatsoever? If they wanted the girls together they should’ve built up to it at least a little bit… I’d rather Kung and Bow got together instead… they had at least an interesting dynamic.
I want to appreciate the attempt bc I think deep down there’s some good ideas hidden in this awful script but the execution is just horrendous! The pacing, the acting…just everything seemed all over the place. Mai and Ryou were probably the best actors out of the bunch but still fell flat bc of the script. The twist itself wasn‘t overly obvious but there were enough clues for the audience to come to the conclusion themselves first, which I liked.
I actually liked it! It was cute but I wish Mahiro was less unlikable. I didn‘t quite hate him but liking him was hard in the second half of the show…:/
Well well, if that doesn’t sound predatory 😬… Tbh I’m morbidly curious how they will handle this highly problematic storyline but I think it’ll be romanticized. I’m open to be proven wrong though…
