oh gosh yes it's very interesting to look into how the creative team had been super intentional about their outfit…
I also love the way they dressed Duke Su in jewel tones. Usually it’s the woman who get the rich colors but not our Duke. Lol. He is, of course, our Drama King and his love of posing cracks me up as I rewatch. I’ll be talking more about that in another crazy post of mine!
Continuing from my post yesterday about the Chinese title:
女:(female lines) (XFF)
穿梭在墨雨云间 找不到牵引的线 (shuttling between the inky rain clouds, cannot find the thread to pull me out) 一千个美的从前 都徘徊在痛的边缘 (the past with a thousand beautiful memories , all wandering on the edge of pain)
男:(male lines) (XH) 仰望着墨雨云间 我始终是那根线 (looking up into the inky rain clouds, I’ve always been that thread) 斩断了你的依恋 斩不断我心里的欠 (I cut off your attachment and the debt in my heart)
I noticed XFF’s clothes were mostly white, reinforcing the idea that she had a clear conscience, that she was not tainted. Then, after SYR “put his cloak” on her, symbolically touching her, she vomited and XH made her change her clothes. XH clothes she chose was black!
Then you will have to change the structure of the C-Entertainment. Like age actors who are popular will not pair…
LOL that kind of line is always fun to use, though. I mean, some people just show up at normal, fun, non-political forums with enough vitriol to start a world war. And all over some celebrity who makes enough money to pay for my retirement fund for the rest of my life, LOL. So, to me, they must have had a bad morning and it must be either their dog or their grandma who got beaten up to cause such anger....
Joking aside, the younger actress/older actor trope only affects me if the older guy really showed his age. There, I'm shameless. Like, the recent Forbidden Flower didn't make me cringe at all. #hangshead because Jerry Yan looks fine. #hangsheadlower

As much. I tagged on "as much" to give you room to rebutt, LOL. That's called a conversation. I get tired of the "one would..." because I'm no longer writing for a professor. It's more fun to go personal and see what the other person says because I like visceral reactions. Thank you for being neutral and I apologize if you thought I was attacking you. I really wasn't. My attacks would be very very visceral, more akin to "And who beat your dog this morning?" that sort of line. Cheers.
ik i may get hate for this but I rly wish they'd stop pairing actors apart in age by over a decade as romantic…
Then you will have to change the structure of the C-Entertainment. Like age actors who are popular will not pair or give first billing to an older actress who has achieved top billing status. This created an unfair situation for great actresses because obviously you and other women will not complain as much if it were the guy who were ten years older.
I would like to talk about the symbolism behind the Chinese title, 墨雨云间. I’m interpreting the phrase as “Inky Rain Amidst Clouds.” The words signify a tarnished reputation or image, literally a black rain in her world. It is interesting that the word ink is used since her murderous husband was a scholar; his ink had tarnished her. It is also significant that there were so many images of her using umbrellas, as if in her new incarnation, she was protecting herself from that inky rain. If you listened to one of the OST, the one with the duet, the girl sings about being lost in the inky cloud, and the boy sings about being the thread to pull her out!
Cool, huh?
So now we can extrapolate that into all those scenes of the Duke slowly giving him his clothes to wear ha ha until she wore the whole* get up at the barbecue. She had his full protection by then. 😍

What do you guys think of that?
