Actually, he overrode the director (who did all the filming) to get the HE and 40.5 done. It was in another one of his post The main director is an artsy dude, who likes Shakespeare, hence my using Shakespeare in my review because I knew he was going after that kind of artistic depiction.

This director--I'm almost forgiving him for that headless horseman shit he pulled. Almost.

Similar, but different because FL and the other characters act very differently and are more mature in their methods

Even their fingers flirt. Sigh.

The FL is Ling BuYi without the kungfu and the court power, losing her whole family. She, however, had so much smarts, her revenge methods engaged the ML into her tactical game. Her revenge methods are no little girl tricks. Although she wasn't an engineering genius, FL was a cai nue of her city (Most Talented), so she wasn't CSS, who was uneducated. FL used ALL her smarts--her knowledge of the War of Art, the music ability, her eloquence, her household/math skills--to beat her enemies at their game. Even the flute music sounds familiar--parts of it reminded me of CSS shiao piece.

I saw a BTS where the director said, "I want you to cry here. Just one drop rolling the face." Then he said, "Action." WJY then look out into the lake, and after a bit, one freakin perfect drop of tear rolled down her cheek! It's on Youtube.

It cracked me up that he kept saying (paraphrasing) "You promised me (to keep yourself safe)!" and she kept saying (paraphrasing) "It's not my fault! Last second circumstances!" And then cajoled him into forgiving her LOLOLOL. I totally loved the fact that she was sexually experienced and wasn't intimidated when he invaded her physical space (like maidens in those days would have been). She just went one-on-one with him, innuendo and all.
