I loved in spite of what you viewed as flaws. It’s just a difference in taste. I probably rated your faves low…
lol. But it had enough “spectacular “ in it for me to rate a 9.5. Heh. We’re viewing it through different lenses, that’s all. Like I said, you see it as a half empty glass, etc. etc., and that’s fine, because you didn’t like certain things about it. My 7.5 is definitely different than your 7.5. I guess that’s why ratings average out.
LOL Those final ten minutes, that's why. And WXY haters.
There are a lot of BTS scenes out there where you see him keep asking the Director, whether he could kiss her in those scenes. And the Director kept saying no. Like during the rain scene, he asked to kiss her. You could tell from his facial expressions in that scene that he wanted to!
LOL Those final ten minutes, that's why. And WXY haters.
Yes the BTS showed them kissing for hours. He was complaining that one of his legs was numb lol. Yes, it was him on horseback. He showed a video of him riding the horse to meet his wife. I have that video saved because he looked so purty 😂

Oh shit. I meant WJY. Finger slip. Those young fans are very possessive of their Duke Su's young lips. LMAO.
I didn't mind 40.5. I minded the last ten minutes of 40 LOL. Waste of good minutes (except for the money shot of him with pendant in mouth) when they could have used those LONG KISSES as shown in the BTSs. I will not forgive! Like I said last night, I want to beat that City Drum to complain to the Emperor! LOL
This interview with Liang Yongqi (Shen Yurong) finally has subs! I commented asking for subs a few days ago and…
Oh this is an excellent interview! Very in-depth and I'm glad to know I interpreted his acting intentions pretty closely, yayyyy! I'd thought those eye-meets were very meaningful and interesting in contrast to XFF and XH's eye-fucking. Glad to hear how the actors practiced them.
The mental instability was very well done and I had tracked the exact moment he mentioned, when he made that mental decision (and went slightly mad). The actor moved both his hands, folding up his sleeves. Before he was always kneeling or standing pretty subservently. I loved those little things throughout the drama. Also the moment he turned his back to the Princess.
Thank you for posting this. I'm saving it for future rewatch. Maybe write a whole character thread in our discussion of this Mental Triangle. The two men...maybe even YSJ in there. Arghhhhhhhh. So tempted to spend another night writing crazy shit LOL.
Am I the only one who thinks He really died at the end and they gave us the extra episode so we won’t be upset…
There were good arguments about it being a SE. However, I do think he survived because of the camera angle of the horseman heading toward the figure under the tree. A dream vignette would be more visceral to enforce the dreamer (XFF) was fantasizing. For example, the beginning of the drama dream was very visceral--the FL shared many intimate moments with her ex before waking up. Here, the POV of the pendant and the horseback rider approaching was clearly not part of the separate FL scene of running out because it's snowing. Her final turn coincided with the approaching sound of hooves. I know the director was trying to convey a mood--her anxiety, her fear, her anticipation. He wanted a "beautiful" artistic ending. I wasn't satisfied, but being a film student in my youth, I could see what he was trying to do with his camera because of countless collegiate POV classes LOL.
