despite the age gap of the actors, I LOVE the chemistry between the two leads!! I just watched episode 19, and…
If you enjoyed those scenes and the chemistry together, do go to the other topics board and look at what some of us have posted following the progression of the couple. It’s under the topic titled couple progression and dialogue. 💕
This drama, scene after scene, is like an addictive drug that keeps you hooked. Take, for instance, the moment…
There several scenes of their exchanging glances that really showed the Director putting some thought into it: 1) the funeral procession (this is shown from SYR's POV later when he became aware that XH was now a true rival). That exchange, when he'd thought was just the Duke looking on in suspicion (because Duke Su was the Top Spy) was now, he realized, the look of a man who had been interested in his wife (and we, as viewers, was purview to that interest).
2) The exchange of look at the banquet. SYR thought it was disdain but we knew it was more than that.
3) The eyemeet at the prison was great BUT
4) The best exchange of glances was the one when SYR was finished talking to the Emperor and Duke Su came in. The side eyemeet was EPIC! I think this was the moment the two dudes declared war, LOLOL.
Just finished, this drama was SOOO good!! Like wow, just wow. I didn’t sleep or shower for two days lol. The…
Yes, I keep returning here to talk to new viewers and to discuss character and plot stuff in the Other Topics discussion board, LOL. It is that engaging a drama. I read here that Netflix had different subtitles so I'm planning to do a rewatch when all the episodes are out to see how their translation is compared to the one I saw.
Watched all episodes as soon as they were aired, express package and the lot. Since I stil couldn't stay away…
Everything (and I'm not arguing with you here) is left to the viewer to do detective work/make educated guesses from past conversations. For example: 1) The ML said he'd return when the tree blossomed. That kind of tree takes 5 years to flower from SEED. However, they didn't plant from seed; they planted a sapling of a couple of years. So the assumption here is that the ML had been gone at least a couple of years. He kept his promise. 2) The FL told her "father" that if the ML died in the war, she would put UP her hair and would be a widow, but in this sequence, her hair is down, loose. 3) The POV of the camera was important. If it were the FL's dream, the pendant would not be hanging from the horse. She would have dreamed of a happier ending. But the camera POV clearly showed the rider in red (a favorite color of our ML) and the pendant returning. It panned back to show him heading toward the tree with the waiting figure. Then, as if hearing hooves, the FL turned, pensive and eager, looking toward the sound. We didn't get the money shot of them embracing. Everything, like this drama, was implied. 4) What was the intention of the Director--did he mean that this was a Messenger bringing news of ML's death? No. From BTS, WXY had a video of him in red, riding that horse, portraying ML's return to his lady love. So, the Director's intention was not of a Messenger of death at the ending.
But yes, I agree that we all should have been given that money shot ending, not some xianxia two second ambiguous return!
When do they get together?Any breakup? How long?Any Love triangle?Happy ending?
What exactly do you mean by "get together?" Like when they "know?" Like when they "work together with secret smiles?" Like when they held hands? Like when they flirted with words about being together? Like when he took her away from her ex? Like when he said marriage? Like when she finally agreed? Like when she came to save him from her ex? I mean, there are many moments that accumulated to progress their relationship. In this drama, it is not like the usual "She is mine and no one can touch her" scenes. It is a pas de deux that is deliberate and amazing to watch.
The Double is #1 four weeks in a row since it aired. It finished last week with a score of 583 points using VLinkage…
It was a tone deaf faux pas of epic proportions. I agree with YZ that showing that negated all the effort he, the cast and crew put in to film the extra five minute episode. It negated all the $$$ fans spent to get the HE. Somebody’s head should roll.
ETA: I think the OP also changed the post. It's missing lines.
