That was just too much fun! I really really really really wish for our Lu Si and Anyu in a modern drama.
They said, copyright because different production companies.
It did follow the book main arcs closely, though. Only thing missing was the very humorous and satisfying epilogue. I wish they had chosen to film that.
I've watched 5 episodes of The Legend of Shen Li and I'm not yet emotionally engaged with the characters so I…
It was very engaging later, with a lot of emotional impact, but the romance is very nuanced. The ML held back a lot because his situation was much like Yuan Qi--he was the sole protector of the realms, etc., but this was an old immortal, not an unsure youth, and his demeanor and reaction to those bullying his OTLove was entirely different. It's a different perspective, which I enjoyed, especially the adult humor. BUT TLI entertained me a lot more because of the true innocence of the silly youths and their sacrifices, and the later echoes of actions and scenes were just amazing the more I rewatch.
You too? LOL. I enjoyed Shen Li, I really did but people were saying TLI was slow...gosh, then Shen Li was doubly so! Both were charming, but I needed Lu Si's manic youth so went to watch many of the first scenes.
I finished Shen Li and....went back for a TLI rewatch of my favorite scenes, LOLOLOL. It seems to engage my emotions more, so...I'm starting it again, ha!
I have two regrets regarding this series:1. I didn’t start watching this earlier 2. I didn’t start watching…
If you like to rewatch and also analyze the characters and incidents, please do put in your thoughts in the subforum in Other Discussions under the topic Episode 35 and Feng Yin ‘s dream. We saved a few of our thoughts there.
I real like Hua Shu, not to annoying and not cunning. She is a very good villain in my view. She manipulates people…
The characters are very rounded, with their own flaws. The main four were so young and had so much to learn and that's why this xianxia was refreshing to me.
Really learned this lesson, DONT just read the comments and decide to not watch a drama. Always give it a try…
Yes, it is a really well-written script, with very nuanced acting. Every scene had an echo-scene and all the little details shown was picked up again at the end, hardly any loose ends. I usually go to the Special Topics to see if there are any specific discussions before I go to the main forum. This is especially true if I come into a drama late because all the enthusiastic discussions have already been buried in earlier pages. In the Special Topics board, everything starts from Page One and I can scroll to my heart's content. Anyway, glad you enjoyed this excellent drama!
I have no idea. But I had wanted it to air in Jan because I wanted LuSi to show she had a drama for 2024. But it lapped over to 2024, with all those days off for New Year, so....I'm surprised it did as well as it did, with people celebrating all those weekends off, but it still rose to #1 three weeks in a row on VLinkage, plus all the other good #s from different formats.
I have been thinking about my favorite parts to rewatch. 1) Ah Yin’s final scene where she gave up. I cried at all the Four Scooby’s individual pain. 2) Gu Jin’s first dressing down of Bitchcovk Hua Shu. 3) Yuan Qi’s second dressing down of Bitchcovk—so satisfying 4) Feng Yin’s first dressing down of Bitchcovk. 5) Yuan Qi and Ah Jiu’s talk before YQ stole the wife 🤣 6) Feng Yin doing the kungfu stuff in the Swordmaster’s Hall And a few more! But these are my favorite.
