I initially dropped this at episode 11 but later decided to give it another chance. First off I want to say that…
I’m told the Netflix version has new CGI because they continued working on it. This xianxia was released too soon ( half year). If you check out the good S+ ones, they’re given at least a year for CGI work.

Oh I need you to copy this and put it onto our discussion thread so we can reread this as part of our collection of parallels. Pretty please? I love your finding each and every one of them!

Thank you! LOL I'm glad you liked it. I edited it a bit (gosh, grammar and typos) and also added MIRROR YUAN QI to tighten the theme of psyche search.

Great observation! Now I want to rewatch yet AGAIN, heh. I keep emphasizing how the writing is brilliant, script-wise. The characters are well-rounded, even the bad guys (Hua Shu was not your cardboard mwahaha jealous biosh and Mingqi was intriguing, yes?). Episode 1 was brilliant in its showcase of background, theme and main characters all in 40 minutes. Each ten-parts of the forty episodes was mini-arcs of the main characters' journey. Everything just locks up together into one beautiful puzzle!

You won’t regret it. I thought it was slow at first too until he caught sight of her face….

I'm glad. I hope you'll enjoy the growing up journey of these four Scooby Doo Immortals. Just look at them doing detective work and going on mini-quests for Feng Yin's immortal soul pieces.

In this version, no Bai Jue returning and no Tian Qi.
It is because the dramas were produced by different platforms. Something to do with copyright.

Could someone explain to me, Im a bit confused with the movie. Im still on episode 2. In the beginning of the…
The first haunting-looking part with the Underworld/Ghost AhYin is the Prologue. A prologue is a tool used by writers to show a current point in time in a narrative. When the drama starts, AhYin the Ghost walked yet another trip toward another reincarnation.

Xiu Yan exclaimed (SO TO INFORM US), hey, now, this is the 20th time, girlfriend, why are you dead already? I freaking made you a princess!"

AhYin shrugged and said, "What to do? My bro was evil and before you know it, I'm killed."

Xiu Yan replied, "This is crazy, dude, either in your original sin, you have someone big blocking you or you are SOMEONE BIG yourself."

Then you see the Big Mirror showing the true god Yuan Qi's sad face and he was looking for this dead immortal that he killed. Ah Yin declared, "IF I WAS THAT dead immortal, I don't want to ever see or speak to him again! Umm, btw, what's the name of the girl?"

Yuan Qi then felt the soul mark and flew to the spot and Xiu Yan swept Ah Yin away into the whirlpool after answering, "Ah Yin." He meant that was the girl's name (TELLING US THE PERSON YUAN QI killed was her, my dear dead girl) but Ah Yin thought he was just addressing her.

Yuan Qi arrived, asking, "Is that Ah Yin? I felt her!"

Xiu Yan dismissively said, "How could that be? Your magnificent Sword killed her and there is nothing left. Better just go back to your heavenly realm." and walked off.

But Yuan Qi wasn't fooled and went to the edge of the whirlpool and said softly, "Finally! We will see other again."

The Prologue thus tells you these things:
1) Ah Yin was the heroine and she was killed by Yuan Qi
2) Xiu Yan is hiding this fact from YQ
3) Ah Yin could not find a happy reincarnation and this was already her 20th
4) There is more to the story that the little boy told because if not, why would YQ be searching for someone he killed? What was the real story? Why was poor Ah Yin killed? Who is she? Why is YQ looking so sad and why is he looking for her and why those words at the end?

THEN ON THE SCREEN, IT SAYS: 1000 YEARS AGO

Which means the prologue is ended and we are now in the part of the drama that will be answering the questions in the prologue.

So, then you see the story of Feng Yin and Gu Jin ONE THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE (so you the viewer is now informed Ah Yin has been dead for quite some time, no?). FY is the little phoenix who wasn't supposed to be because there was already another Fire Phoenix (two could not exist at the same time because of the cycle of Rebirth and Death). Gu Jin was the hidden god who had his power sealed, so he was just a mostly weak teen immortal here.

The drama then shows you how Feng Yin was killed. 8 of her soul pieces were scattered and ONE OF THEM FLOATED INTO the half-dead egg of the Magical Water Beast and Ah Yin CAME TO BE. So this was really the first reincarnation of Feng Yin but NOBODY KNEW THIS BUT US because we saw the floating thingy going inside the egg.

Now, Ah Yin was ALSO an anomaly because the egg was 70000 years old and hadn't ever hatched since being damaged by bad dudes. So it was a clue to those silly immortals who she really was but did they think it? Nooooooo.

Alright, you're in Episode 2. I'm not going to continue so you can now enjoy the Journey of Ah Yin and how she will become Feng Yin again. Remember, she told the Fire Phoenix Queen, her aunt, that she wanted to see the world and experience life before she became the next queen. Well, you see how she shouldn't have spoken BECAUSE YOU KNOW SHE WAS GONNA SUFFER AND BE KILLED AND THEN HAVE AT LEAST 20 SAD REINCARNATIONS.

So, hopefully, this explanation helped you. The caps is not because I was yelling. I wanted to emphasize the explanation parts. Cheers.
