Could someone explain to me, Im a bit confused with the movie. Im still on episode 2. In the beginning of the…
The first haunting-looking part with the Underworld/Ghost AhYin is the Prologue. A prologue is a tool used by writers to show a current point in time in a narrative. When the drama starts, AhYin the Ghost walked yet another trip toward another reincarnation.
Xiu Yan exclaimed (SO TO INFORM US), hey, now, this is the 20th time, girlfriend, why are you dead already? I freaking made you a princess!"
AhYin shrugged and said, "What to do? My bro was evil and before you know it, I'm killed."
Xiu Yan replied, "This is crazy, dude, either in your original sin, you have someone big blocking you or you are SOMEONE BIG yourself."
Then you see the Big Mirror showing the true god Yuan Qi's sad face and he was looking for this dead immortal that he killed. Ah Yin declared, "IF I WAS THAT dead immortal, I don't want to ever see or speak to him again! Umm, btw, what's the name of the girl?"
Yuan Qi then felt the soul mark and flew to the spot and Xiu Yan swept Ah Yin away into the whirlpool after answering, "Ah Yin." He meant that was the girl's name (TELLING US THE PERSON YUAN QI killed was her, my dear dead girl) but Ah Yin thought he was just addressing her.
Yuan Qi arrived, asking, "Is that Ah Yin? I felt her!"
Xiu Yan dismissively said, "How could that be? Your magnificent Sword killed her and there is nothing left. Better just go back to your heavenly realm." and walked off.
But Yuan Qi wasn't fooled and went to the edge of the whirlpool and said softly, "Finally! We will see other again."
The Prologue thus tells you these things: 1) Ah Yin was the heroine and she was killed by Yuan Qi 2) Xiu Yan is hiding this fact from YQ 3) Ah Yin could not find a happy reincarnation and this was already her 20th 4) There is more to the story that the little boy told because if not, why would YQ be searching for someone he killed? What was the real story? Why was poor Ah Yin killed? Who is she? Why is YQ looking so sad and why is he looking for her and why those words at the end?
THEN ON THE SCREEN, IT SAYS: 1000 YEARS AGO
Which means the prologue is ended and we are now in the part of the drama that will be answering the questions in the prologue.
So, then you see the story of Feng Yin and Gu Jin ONE THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE (so you the viewer is now informed Ah Yin has been dead for quite some time, no?). FY is the little phoenix who wasn't supposed to be because there was already another Fire Phoenix (two could not exist at the same time because of the cycle of Rebirth and Death). Gu Jin was the hidden god who had his power sealed, so he was just a mostly weak teen immortal here.
The drama then shows you how Feng Yin was killed. 8 of her soul pieces were scattered and ONE OF THEM FLOATED INTO the half-dead egg of the Magical Water Beast and Ah Yin CAME TO BE. So this was really the first reincarnation of Feng Yin but NOBODY KNEW THIS BUT US because we saw the floating thingy going inside the egg.
Now, Ah Yin was ALSO an anomaly because the egg was 70000 years old and hadn't ever hatched since being damaged by bad dudes. So it was a clue to those silly immortals who she really was but did they think it? Nooooooo.
Alright, you're in Episode 2. I'm not going to continue so you can now enjoy the Journey of Ah Yin and how she will become Feng Yin again. Remember, she told the Fire Phoenix Queen, her aunt, that she wanted to see the world and experience life before she became the next queen. Well, you see how she shouldn't have spoken BECAUSE YOU KNOW SHE WAS GONNA SUFFER AND BE KILLED AND THEN HAVE AT LEAST 20 SAD REINCARNATIONS.
So, hopefully, this explanation helped you. The caps is not because I was yelling. I wanted to emphasize the explanation parts. Cheers.

If I start explaining too much, then I bring in MingQi's past and then the bets and then...it is just not relevant to what the OP wanted to know since she is watching the drama.

Yes, I told the drama version because it is to answer this viewer's question. As I said, I left out stuff. It'll just confused viewers who didn't read the books if I get into so many details.
yeah, she used 4 diff tonalities for the 4 stages of chars development she wont have this childish voice all the…
She played--Young Feng Yin (spirit), Baby Ah Yin (days old), Teen Ah Yin (well, I'm not sure whether it's considered teen since she only lived for "five" years), Adult/Empress Feng Yin (1000 years old, take or add five years)

OK, here is a very, very brief summary. I left some stuff out that is not relevant to the drama because Ao Ge's and Xiu Yan's story is very complex in the books:
Ao Ge and Xiu Yan are twins and born in the ancient, ancient world when the true gods were still around. Ao Ge was destined to be the Heavenly Emperor and Xiu Yan was to rule the Ghost Realm (in the drama, it's called Youming Realm). (Aside: China is now forbidding the use of anything "ghost" or "demon", so you get changed names like here and The Moon Supreme Leader for Dongfang Cincang in Fairy and Devil. And Mingqi in this drama is the Devil instead of Ghost Lord).
There was a great war 60000 years ago. Ao Ge and Xiu Yan led thousands of soldiers to fight the demons. Xiu Yan had to sacrifice himself to seal Minqqi. Half of his soul essence was with Minqqi and the other half scattered. Ao Ge managed to find these scattered essences and by giving up his position as Heavenly Emperor, he became two in the Underworld Realm. His twin lived in him and could come out when he was in that palace you see in the drama and it being a ghost realm, Xiu Yan walked freely to guide the dead to their incarnations. Out of that palace and realm, it was Ao Ge who was keeping his twin alive.
The power tributes the palace demanded from any visitors sustained Xiu Yan's soul but didn't heal him, and he was getting weaker and weaker and soon, he would be dead. Ao Ge wanted Ah Yin's core (or half of it) to heal his twin brother in exchange for two of Feng Yin's soul fragments.
You then see how this was played out in The Last Immortal and how the two brothers became two entities again. Hope this very short synopsis of their story helps.
Yes and Zhi Yan from Last Immortal is our poor first general saved by Lu Si. Soooooo handsome here.
That's because the author wrote a book about very young immortals...he was barely five/six hundred and LuSi's character started as a hatchling. He couldn't be a Hei Fengxi because he didn't have the ten year of resources HFX built up! I wasn't frustrated because I knew going in what the theme of drama was and that they were each other's tribulation, so no matter what they did, the first half was going to lead to a very bad middle for them, LOL.
Hello! I am currently on episode 28 and I have not understand what's going on with the story of the twins gods…
This is the main discussion board but if you scroll up under Recent Discussions, some of us have put up topics of interest so that other viewers' most asked questions are answered/discussed. Hope that helps.
So I'm on ep23 and I just want to share my exasperation at watching the main character make all the wrong choices…
Now you know how every parent feel watching their kid grow up, lol. And in TLI, all the grownups who could help guide are NOT there! Only the bad ones are around.

I kinda liked that story line too haha. It would be awesome--all that sexy intensity. I also wouldn't have minded with foxy Li Yunrui! Lu Si can have those two and the chemistry would be unique AND very sexy.
How so? Maybe I can help? For me, the first episode was very compact, amazingly edited to give the viewer the whole story in one episode. I've rewatched it countless of times and each time I see little things the director and editor (and scriptwriter) had managed to put in to foreshadow the entire drama.
