is it a good satisfying ending?
I would have loved one big hug and kiss but unfortunately, LuSi caught COVID....

How is this drama ? I want to watch it for ZLS but I’m not a big fan of the male lead. I have watched ALP and…
I loved it. Lu Si was amazing. Each ten episodes brought out a different Lu Si as her character grew. The angst is epic and I loved how earlier actions are mirrored by the other protagonist in their journey to adulthood. The theme of friendship among the main four is refreshing. They actually talk to each other in different scenes as they mature, showing their growth from rash youth to responsible adults.

This is the main discussion board. If you scroll up to the Topic Board, there is a topic answering all your questions connected to ALP. Hope that helps.

I thought Feng Yin was not as vengeful as BaiJian, LOL. Not that I blame BaiJian, but if you compare both dramas,…
I, OTOH, am a rewatcher if I love the drama. I like to study scenes, read the works, compare the differences, check out the camera work, talk about themes and characters. Lol. Yes, it becomes an obsession until I find another good drama. I must have rewatched LLTG and scenes from it dozens of times. YouTube has my long comment essays from my rewatching. Yes, I admit that it’s crazy. Lol.

Watch it for yourself and be your own judge. This drama has many layers, some layers people never even understand…
I say this now and it works by making me laugh it off. Heh.

This was for me a good show but not the best. Zhao lu si is for me one of the best actresses, she always feels…
I thought Feng Yin was not as vengeful as BaiJian, LOL. Not that I blame BaiJian, but if you compare both dramas, then FY, being much, much younger, was certainly more merciful. And perhaps that is what the final message of this story is all about--that the old ways, of division in the three realms (as in ALL xianxias that I've watched), that certain clans are looked down on and killed off so casually, that all evil cannot be redeemed, is the OLD WAY. The young immortals here are going to carve out a NEW WAY, where the three realms can freely mix (as shown in one scene at the end), where Hua Shu the Evil Bitch freely made the decision to repent, and where the final scene of the Ultimate Demon Mingqi came to the conclusion that maybe free will could change destiny, that he too could be accepted for who he was after tribulations. and in this light, hopefully, you can see that this drama brilliantly turns the old tropes into something very different. :) Cheers to you.

You do understand, right? If not for Gu Jin's mistake, Feng Yin wouldn't be alive? Feng Yin was supposed to die…
Yes, Zhao LuSi was so good at Feng Yin's role that I'm writing a The Four Faces of Feng Yin long post. LOL. I know how to use my free time (not).

I want to give this a try because I like the 2 leads, but I keep seeing videos on youtube calling the ML useless…
I wouldn't say he was useless, but his powers was limited. The story started with him at around 200-400 years old and he was having fun being a bum-immortal. He had a mental combustion when the beautiful Hua Shu singled him out to be her toy but mostly his infatuation came from the fact that he thought Hua Shu saved him.

The ML had power but yet, not. He sacrificed huge chunks of his power for those he loved and never told anyone. Also, the story is about his tribulation and the FL happened to be his. Ironically, he was also her tribulation because without his interference, the FL would have died since she was an anomaly in both lives as Feng Yin and AhYin. So, let's just call it fate. Gu Jin had to lose Ah Yin and vice-versa before they fulfilled their fates.

Title The Last Immortal Spoiler
You do understand, right? If not for Gu Jin's mistake, Feng Yin wouldn't be alive? Feng Yin was supposed to die…
He was only 200plus years-old compared to his parents of 100000 or whatever years, give him a break. This is a youth xianxia story, about four very young immortals against a bunch of older and more powerful immortals. I understand your frustration but Gu Jin did not have the powers his parents had. When he ascended, he'd then immediately given up 9/10 of his power to saving his Daze clan. He had no guidance as the true god from his absent parents on how to really deal with that bunch of greedy old immortals; all he understood was three things--to protect Ah Yin from being killed, to be fair and just and to protect the realms from war (which was his Chaotic line duty). Young people make foolish mistakes. Why not young immortals? Ah Yin was only FIVE years old and some of her actions were very foolish too but we loved her like her clan brothers because she wore her heart on her sleeve. It was harder for Gu Jin to do so once he ascended as the true god because he naively thought he had to look just to get everyone on his side. He was never a wily person but he was always sincere and protective. He also knew that Ah Yin was his tribulation and would cause the destruction of Daze Mountain and thus had to do a lot of hurtful things that wasn't in his nature. I would say that Gu Jin/Yuan Qi was the most upright YOUNG immortal of them all, compared to those adults manipulating the four young friends.

As an aside, AhYin was the most generous (and giving), AhJiu was the most independent (and thus, most alone) and YunShang the most loyal.

Another parallel.Episode 13: When Gu Jin said Xian Zhu must've been heart broken when he was looking for Wan Yue…
Yes! You and I must write these parallels we find in a post up in the Special Topic section so we can come back to them when we rewatch LOL.

Yassss, I love the way Yuan Qi sincerely apologized to Hong Yi for taking his place as the groom but with no regrets…
Those were beautifully written scenes. They weren't cliched and the conversations showed how much more grown up they were now compared to their bickering (but FUN!) selves in the early episodes. But then that fun came back when Yuanqi chased after Hongli for some fox fur, bwahaha.
