This was an interesting show especially since I'm so used to turning my brain off while watching dramas, this one for a change turned it on. However since the start was great, the disappointment greater when it started lagging. Still good though, the rating on MDL is as messed up as ever with shitty rom coms up there and good shows like this behind them. Could have been much better with a lesser episode count. I am glad to find all these new actors :)
I earlier commented that I'll give this drama a try for Kim Sejeong and Lee Deokhwa as I was confident that they'll successfully provide tasteful comedy, but on the fence for Ahn Hyoseop. First 2 episodes, he still did not manage to convince me as this Chaebol Tsundere, but watched 3 more till Episode 5 now and now I am sold on his portrayal of Kang Tae Moo. The comic beats have been well delivered and his portrayal is heartfelt and not just a try hard cool dude type. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes! Thank god it's only 12 thus things are happening faster for the drag that we usually expect out of rom coms like these ♡
My reason for starting the drama - Kim Sejeong and Lee Deokhwa. I know they will be entertaining to watch even if the storyline goes haywire. On the fence about Ahn Hyoseop - there have been ups and downs in my experience of watching him, still hopeful since in a romcom like this, chemistry is everything, so if he manages to hit that off with his costars that's more than enough to enjoy the series. Will watch about 4 episodes before making a further watch or drop verdict.
I don't understand why this drama is rated so low, I got completely obsessed with it's sense of humour and the above average ppot for it's idol costume drama genre.
Overall as a drama I would give it an 8 or 8.5 but Takahashi Issei made it a 10 for me since this is my first drama of him and he blew me away. Ayase Haruka was great too, however he was phenomenal.
The first half was definitely more captivating than the second. The second needed better pacing and deletion of…
Still the OST kept me going as it was a pleasure to hear the opening and ending even on binge watches. Not a bad watch per se, it's entertaining especially the 1st half.
The first half was definitely more captivating than the second. The second needed better pacing and deletion of redundant scenes that becomes oh so apparent on a binge watch. Also, except for the ML who had consistent screen presence, the FL just became a side-kick by the end, and 2nd ML and 2nd FL's screentime dipped so bad that it almost became annoying to watch. However, glad that unlike other series where the youngsters/juniors do it all, this one had a lot of involvement of the seniors which logically makes more sense, given the no of clearances that would be needed or experience involved.
On ep 22, wonder when leads will stop jumping to conclusions and attempting murder before listening to the whole story or fishing more information. Every single series this happens. I get it one has trauma over their parents' death but I would like a series where the hero/heroine is truly guilty for some actual angst, otherwise no a proper reason for coming to a verdict guilty and no mental leaps of judgment.
I started watching this, but the first episode seems verrrrrrry transphobic. Have I misunderstood something or…
Same for the prevalence of homophobia in dramas, atleast they had 1 character the Xie 2nd ML who was okay with them even before he knew she was a girl.
Mann.. as soon as the concubine candidate aka daughter of his associate came on screen, I developed an acquired hatred thinking that she'll be one of those typical bitches in every drama. How hard the guilt hit me when she died T_T Similarly for the Princess, I'm glad there were none of those brain numbing characters in this drama.
One of the better family dramas. I was absolutely daunted by the 120 episode count, but by the end I wanted more. No makjang and solid character development arcs! Recommend to all family drama lovers. My fav were Sangmin-Gaeun couple and the child actors that played Sol and Ijae but all characters and actors were likeable in their own way :)
I rarely say this about a drama, especially Chinese dramas with their long episodes and stretched out plots. But this one needed like 4 more episodes, and I would have gladly watched them too. Sigh, what a missed potential to end on a bang but I guess a low budget production or problems limited them. Whatever, at least the rest of it was a good watch. Worth my time watching it at 1x without touching the FF button much. Ahh, I need more episodes with more scenes of the 2ML, 2FL and 3ML. The band of sleuths are adorable and smart making it an enjoyable watch :)
I found the FL personality very annoying. I know they both have issues so I tried to be more understanding during…
That's simply because she is a more serious case than he is, and will need more time and longer therapy than him to heal. This is what real-life people with issues feel like, not the romanticized portrayal on TV. Thank God they did not make light of it and love heals it all trope. Though I agree that the writing got loose towards the end few episodes.
I was thinking about the same thing. I put Be Melodramatic aside but I honestly forgot about it. xD
The original any day. The remake was poorly done. Also, the name of the drama is such a disaster compared to the original drama lol. It's more of a start-up feel rom com.
Looking forward to the rest of the episodes! Thank god it's only 12 thus things are happening faster for the drag that we usually expect out of rom coms like these ♡
