Just started rewatching and you are right, it had the most amazing unforgettable characters that left a huge impression on me.

I have started rewatching this beautifully filmed, epic, angsty, sometimes sad gem of a drama and the martial arts are beyond amazing. I also realised I missed the 50/60+ episode dramas, they had time to tell a story well and yes I hear you drag a little in the middle.

Hua Zhi was no fuss, straight up we have a problem let’s communicate and fix it, excellent character and her communication skills with ML were exemplary, so easy to watch. I feel so sorry for Wei Zhao he is not getting any Hua Zhi assistance atm poor guy 😓

It does look like there might me more to her death than childbirth, Wei Zhao is now investigating so let’s see what he uncovers.

I just checked some IG posts of this actress in various costume dramas and her lips are like that so maybe that is just her natural lip line and the red lipstick just accentuates a bit. Very very beautiful actress, great pairing with Alan Feng ❤️

This drama and the politics inspired me to rewatch Nirvana In Fire for the 7th time, no romance but can’t get over how brilliant the power plays were portrayed every time I watch it.

Pei Yan’s obsessive behaviour really creeps me out, he is like those boyfriends who put you down just to ensure you think you are not good enough for anyone else and so grateful to him for choosing you. Just the worst type of manipulation.
