I realize Han Gi Tak did that deliberately so his lil sis & his love could be happy, BUT he kind of forgot that he'd originally saved her from getting raped by that douche, and how he saved his 'boys' from a life of gangsterdom & started that restaurant so they'd have a livelihood...& HOW did that MONEY survive, please? Nope I did not like that part of the ending. All the rest was great, tho!

This thing was adapted from a series of books, and I can tell, because the focus keeps shifting & main characters die off or even worse turn villainous for NO logical reasons (towards the end - his best bud there goes totally evil? That made NO SENSE AT ALL!!!!) I managed to finish the thing but OMG it dragged and really was all over the place. Plus I actually know my history - they are all doomed anyway cause of Japan's takeover in 1898. Just, blech :(

OMG really the ending - just so ridiculous, but then the whole thing was just the same. Yet strangely compelling LOL

He's a lawyer - but his JOB was as a political aide...

Because this show kept my interest its entire run. The character development of EVERYBODY, including the villains, really caught my attention - well-rounded portrayals rather than cookie-cutter stereotypes and 1 dimensional figures. Plus I wasn't sure about who was on which side for a lot of it. So I fail completely to understand those who found it boring.

Oh, that's a thought - that he wanted his driver to kill him. He certainly KNEW his driver would do that....

See, I and others DO care about the detective story. And the character development. So are NOT finding this boring at all!

I suggest that people pay no attention to the naysayers & check out the drama for themselves - it's NOT boring, but has some thoughtful character studies instead of nonstop action, which of course does lose the interest of those with the attention span of gnats...

Fun thing - I'm retired US Navy - I've BEEN to Thailand FOR COBRA Gold :D It wouldn't have been in Phuket but in a nearby Thai military base (ours was in Surit Thani which was near Ko Samui (island resort on the OTHER side of the peninsula). I was the Yeoman for a SEAL team LOL Sadly, I saw NO one who came close to looking like our leads in this ~sob~ from SK, Thailand or the US - although the radio operator who stood graveyard shift w/me in the air conditioned computer room was very hot indeed LOL He was from Iowa tho....& engaged. & even tho I was considerably younger than now, he was STILL too young for me LOL

Too late - Joong Ki is a mega-leading actor now, back from MS & KILLING it with Descendents of the Sun.

Soooooo not boring - it's a cool spy drama w/a twist - better than quite a few of the other dramas airing right now for sure.

So you obviously watched a totally different drama than I did - first episode was VERY good & interesting!

Just a masterpiece. This belongs in a very select group of Korean dramas that are as good or better than ANYTHING I've ever watched. Just amazing acting, writing, directing, producing - sooo freaking good!!!!!
