I absolutely do not agree about your assessment of this drama overall - it's been delightful to watch the interactions of the two leads, & the cases HAVE been interesting. However, I have to agree with your comments about the main, personal mystery.
I do recommend this drama - I've enjoyed it a lot!

Sorry, don't buy your arguments. Those cops aren't dumbed down - nor clueless. The special case team is neck & neck w/the disbanded Team 7 - which combines efforts to catch the killer rather than completely depending on her. That's just the most definite argument against your assessment.
The fact that you totally missed the charm of Strong Woman Bong Soon rather speaks for itself, I think. I'm not sure what you think to be great writing but I gather you dislike romance & your idea of a 'strong female' is an asexual one (just judging by your comments).
You did capture a very real, strong characteristic of KDrama - " they have this skill of not wasting a character. They don't fill a role just so they can give jobs to people, and have them just be there (well most that I've seen anyway). They try to give every character a story, making them at least a significant, irreplaceable part of the series. Kdramas usually have the tendency to mind blowingly find connection in the lives of each character, " VERY well put!
I really enjoy this particular show so far. No 'dry forced romance' that I see. Just a woman in unhappy circumstances making the most of her life & her talents, so far!

Hong Yoon Hwa is such an adorable, funny, talented young actress! Love her in this LOL

I don't agree about the beginning episodes - cause it's done well & very cute. Plus OMG JCW!!! When he steps out in those prosecutor robes, OMG!!!!

You know, she should have yelled at the old man about how he obviously doesn't care enough about his son to get the REAL murderer!

She's adorable. You want a meh leading lady for him, try Noble My Love. The SECOND lead female is not very interesting, however.
Oh, & there is NO such thing as too much Sung Hoon fan service, LOL

Is this a pre-filmed drama? Just saying. The writers have left this rather open - I've seen less ambiguous scenarios turned upside down. They could easily go either way. It WAS said that the kid is her brother, tho.

KatySarang - No, if he manages to go back again & somehow catches the YOUNG killer, then everything will change & all those dead persons will live. NOT sad at all.

Sorry, but life does that already. I do NOT find it entertaining to be overwhelmed with sadness & frustration with my entertainment. I do find true tragedies (go read your classics) carthartic but this is NOT a tragedy - the set-up is already too far off the mark for that. So if it were to end sadly it would just be infuriating & bowing down to the idiots who insist that happy endings are always unrealistic.
If this ends badly, it will diminish the drama. So far the writers have been clever - let them continue to be in the way they suspend our disbelief.

I have always loved Yoon So Hee - she's soooo cute & does a decent job of playing a lot of different characters. She's competent & professional as far as her acting.

JCW is such a versatile actor :d I've seen everything he's done & it runs the gamut - he's even been a villain! I love this character - & OMG he's sooo yummy in a suit LOL

Yeah, I guess you've just been extraordinarily lucky if this is the worst you've experienced - it's not fabulous, wonderful, top of the line, but the acting is just fine and it's very very far from the worst, as I said.

To Faith - What??? Oh, yeah, people do stuff like that when they have too much to drink ALL the time, & end up ashamed the next morning. THAT is the most realistic thing about this whole drama!

Oh, honey, I could steer you to so MANY that are so much worse - I mean, Noble My Love (w/Sung Hoon) is much much much worse - because the writing is terrible in that one. In this little bit of fluff, the writing is rather witty & cute. If you don't like fluffy romcoms, then this is certainly not for you, but as such dramas go this is not at all bad.
