Dang, Netflix new drop (31-35) today but can't continue. Wife started watching the Double two days ago, she's up to episode 16 but won't allow me to use the TV because that will give away the plot. Have to wait for her to catch up as both of us don't want to watch on small smartphone screen.

I think the actresses were the core of the show I.e. naughty step mom, crazy princess and the FL.

She had no business dying. Does not change the story line so the scene is made specifically to make us cry(Worked!). Naughty director.

I don't think by the (medieval)period of this drama, there were any rules except to win. Any chivalric rules were gone by the Warring States period. In ancient set piece battles, the loss of the commander usually resulted in moral collapse of the army, it's like the head has been severed from the army. One of the most famous example was when Alexander charged into the Persian center at Gaugamela. The Persian king, Darius fled and the whole army collapse even thought they were much more numerous that the Greek army.

I understand it's made more difficult by the fact that the Mandarin used is classical Chinese akin to Shakespeare.

I guess the producers decided to play it safe since the Chinese gov censor can be unpredictable. I think LLTG also did not mention the dynasty explicitly, (i.e. early days of Eastern Han). I remember the one series based on the Song explicitly is the one starring the Mulan actress (splendored something title ) . I learned there, was how crazy the Song was for designer tea.

I speed watch a bit till ep12. The leads are good and the story is ok. But as often with this genre, story drags a bit, too much time is wasted on the xianxia CGI sequences and gobledegook. Also the cgi is a bit pathetic even by cdrama standards. Might as well use muppets for those birds.

Isn't the main suspect a FORMER director of the hospital? If not, what is he doing working as an intern at the prosecutor office?
