Title Si Jin
Is it just me or did they make Jiang Si a bit too helpless? With her reincarnation and her Nanwu experience and everything, she is supposed to be 10 steps ahead and more ruthless.
Novel Jiang Si was armed with knowledge from her past life, so for the things she was not certain about, she knew what direction to investigate in and made early preparations to prevent tragedies from repeating. She took out her enemies by herself and made sure they had no way of escape. They are giving Prefect Zhen and Yu Qi too much credit for some of the things she handled herself. She dealt with her engagement very well, without needing to go to court for it.
Another thing she did was to not do too much to change the course of events for her family because if she did, how would she know about an unknown danger and eliminate it? So for every event, she bidded her time, investigated, set precautions and eliminated all the threats on time.
She also became more cold and indifferent. She never allowed herself to be at the mercy of others because she knew that thinking about protecting her reputation in every situation would yield nothing good. I don't know if it is a part of the script, or a result of the personal portrayal by the actress, but her gaze is too soft, too innocent.

But I have a really important question. If scriptwriters can completely change the plot and everything of a source…
This is such a sad situation.

That’s exactly how I felt about “Are you the One,” the “Rise of Ning,” even “Kill Me, Love Me”.…
I understand to a better extent, the changes in Rise of Ning and Are you the one, especially in Rise of Ning. But in Si Jin, the male lead was not a red flag. He was hilarious in his pursuit of the female lead. It was nicely written.

The producers obviously don't care much, and to be honest, I think this is the reason too. But can't writers sign contracts that protect their stories? Why allow people to use a fan base your hard work created to make profit and disappoint said fanbase?

Jiang Si was such a class act in the book. And Yu Qi was so funny lmao. He had only one thing he wanted and worked so hard to get it lol. Also, he was an underestimated opponent and it made things very exciting. I know it is not easy to cast an appropriate dog for the role Ernui played, but it is disappointing nonetheless. I wish they were able to get a really big dog.
Writers should protect their works better. Don't they want to see a good adaptation on screen?

But I have a really important question. If scriptwriters can completely change the plot and everything of a source novel, why try to make an "adaptation" in the first place? It is basically a new story, so why not write an original work? It is actually extremely disappointing to wait to watch the live action of a beloved work and then see something completely different with the names of the same beloved characters.

I'm trying my very best to dissociate in order to watch this show. The story looks like it has only a 10% similarity with the novel. Zhang Wan Yi, why are you doing this to me again???
I hope it is a good show though.

This is based on a comic and so the action scenes are done that way on purpose. Manhwa readers have said it makes the pages on the comic come alive, so that is very exciting.

Eun Ho's calmer reaction is so fitting. I swear the actor is really good at acting. Like is he falling in love…
I really how they show him contemplating things. I need to see him in more romcoms.

watching Call It love while it was airing was the best experience. Savouring it, anticipating the events and ending, commenting with others. I loved the characters and their dynamics. It was so interesting and emotional how things went.

Ji Yun is losing her mind because of her feelings lol. It is so funny and cute to watch. On the other hand, Eun Ho is presenting a calmer outward reaction. I love the contrast. I think it shows that they have different circumstances. For EH, he has had a bad ending with someone that he once held very dear and more importantly, he has to think about his daughter. For JY, her life has been unexciting and gray. EH is someone that is just a good person genuinely and is willing to put in any amount of work to make sure things happen and happen very well. So he dared to cross all her boundaries which is new, at least in the past 5 years.
I like how they are building the relationships.

well for once, she didnt torture ML to make him submit to her. She also have integrity, which FL does not possess…
On lying and cheating, I hope you dislike everytime Xu Qi'An does it, because he has been doing it since the first episode. If you really look at it well, all his poetry that has gotten him so many favors, are gotten from greats in the real world. He also startegises and lies to serve his own purposes, to gan advantages. Lin An is child's play compared to him.

Yeah because Huaiqing has done a lot of hardwork to reach where she is now on her own. It is not easy at all to…
You are jumping the gun with the last statement. Said guardian is loyal to Huaiqin, not Lin An. And said guardian is very much after his own interests, which means atm, he has no reason to help Lin An, esp when he finds out. And who said Huaqin won't have a love interest? You cannot say that Lin An is more fortunate than Huaiqin, unless you have info from the book that they have not shown on screen. She is more respected and praised than LA. She does not get bullied by anybody. The same is not the same for LA, even though she is the sister of the crown prince. So far in the palace, only her brother likes her. She is not favored by anyone else, even her mother.
But the emperor favors Huaiqin, and with that favor, prefers her brother to the exceptional crown prince. H is also a princess, most likely the child of the empress. LA is the child of a consort. With all these things, who do you think grew up with more resources and respect?

Right! They both pretend, just to gain the benefit from each other. And the show mirrors that they're very alike.…
He has been using things from the greats, from an later time, to get ahead. It is easier for him because of the time period.
He has been stealing to get ahead, but somehow it is Lin An that is the terrible person. What she is doing is light work compared to what he has done.

In many ways, I agree. But she let him be tortured, to win him over. I think he wouldn't do that.
He was whipped. Not that it was a good thing, but it was not using those torture tools. Plus he acted like he was affected when he really wasn't, so I believe they didn't go too far or do it well even based on his reaction. Again, that was not a good thing.
But that is like the only exception.

He thought he was smart, but Lord Wei is smarter lmaoo. This is too funny.
I think if he was not so smitten with her looks, he'd be a bit suspicious at least. It's his own fault lol. The guy tried to be smart and got stuck for 3 years. I cried.
