Reading the novel is so painful sometimes that I have to take breaks. The story really cements what it is like for lovers from two different social classes to be together. Sometimes we watch these shows and probably because of the way the stories are told and probably also because of immaturity or just our frames of mind when watching, we see those that try to separate couples from different social standings as enemies. The thing is that they are right. When two people with completely different upbringing and world views come together, love as a feeling is not enough to keep them together, even more than those that are standing on the same level. I used to see the people that objected, usually the elders as evil and controlling, but I now understand better. That is not all there is. Yes, they might be controlling, but they also speak from experience. What is funny now is that in today's society, it is worse because commitment in marriage is less. We're getting more self-centred and so even those on equal standing may break.
Anyway, Xu Qin is a very very sad and pitiful character. She is the most pitiful in this whole show. I've cried because of her today, unexpectedly. So don't be too hard on her. You'll get to understand her more as time goes on. They even made her character more cheerful and less indifferent in the drama. She just looks sad, not completely broken in the drama
Okay, already commented on it earlier but after finishing ep 6 it's really bothering me now.It so rubs me the…
I think you may need to read the novel. There's a lot of context that is lost when adapting literature. Someone said that she has a singular fixation on Song Yan and from the chapters of the novel I have read, it is true. I am not saying that it is a good thing she is fixated on him or that she's right in what she's doing, but if you understand her character, you may understand her at least (not excuse her). The environment she grew up in is so repressive and toxic because of her controlling parents. Her mother especially is batshit crazy, but in the presumably polite way of nobility. So Song Yan is literally the only light in her life
As hidden love is ending/ has ended (for those that bought the express package), I want to appreciate the silent character that is Wang Ruo Lan, SZ's roomie, that she was a good friend and roomie the entire time, even though she liked Jiang Min. It's rare to find such loyal and good characters in dramaland.
I think her acting is ok but she needs to develop some more facial expressions, has the same blank look at times.…
She's playing an indifferent and cold character that really doesn't talk much at all. That's how she is in the novel. Her one and only joy in this life is Song Yan. She's also depressed in the novel. I think she's playing her character really well.
I can't accept any KMH acting criticism because he embodied the character. A wealthy mysterious, but somewhat stoic man. But you could read his face and body language. I need him and PGY to act in another drama with romance and them as the main leads. I also need his character to be rich because the aura of wealth he carried added to their chemistry. Their romance is so on the low here, it's sad๐ฉ
Jun Kyung had ONE goal this whole show and it was A-Ri. A focused man I stan๐. He was my fav character because the things he said and did had me cackling lmaoooo. I actually really liked the way his character was written. The way they showed the influence of his very privileged upbringing on his personality, even though he's a good guy. So that you really want to smack him sometimes, but if you actually think about it, you can't blame him.
I absolutely cannot stand the sister. she's also a manipulative and insecure coward because tell me why she has been sounding like a broken record since the dawn of time. If she was all that, she would not be acting so two faced in front of their dad. And since she has been this psycho since childhood, I can't envision any positive character development for her atm. And because she's so annoying, I've taken to trying to visualise her possible end because I just can't. She's also terrible at management. She has no proper strategy except threatening and firing staff, as if that is going to work properly.
I laughed so much in today's episode because of Seo Ha losing his mind and going astray and then ended it with tears. They said too much joy, time for balance. Seo Ha knows he's weak when it comes to Ji Eum, so he told her to ask him out all three times at once because he was not sure of restraint in the future lmaoo. I love the casting for this show. I think it's perfect. ABH makes an adorable Seo Ha my goodness

Li Ping, the actress playing SZ's mom, is such a gorgeous woman. Every time she is on the screen, I lose focus. That plus her outfits, a wonderful combination. She looks like a beautiful woman living a beautiful and successful life, which she is. And casting her as Luis's mom here is the most accurate thing. They look like mother and daughter and have wonderful chemistry to pull it off. Then the actress that plays younger SZ is so cute, and her cheeks gosh.
The FL in this drama is not pretty. Some angles she looked good. But most of the times she did not, escpecialy…
This comment has me so confused yo! She's a stunner. I can't even count the number of times I replayed the scene where the ml lifted the veil of her ht at their first meeting because of how beautiful she looked. She's gorgeous and elegant
