YZJ's health situation is all I can think about. I already gave all my tears to GJM because of Fangs of Fortune. I have cried enough. I refuse to cry again.

CSJ did not disappoint me. She is exactly who I thought she was int he beginning. She had the chance to reinvent herself like DW, but she chose not to. Even if it was revenge she wanted, she could have gotten to it by relying on herself. But CSJ is someone that is used to riding on the power and authority of others. She has been very used to oppressing others because of her family's power.
She is smart, but too arrogant and does not see the bigger picture. So she can play against other rich kids, but not against those that are truly devious and have nothing to lose.

i'm on ep 24 and YZJ is starting to piss me off. It's fine that you want to protect DW and distance yourself from…
You are not looking at this through the lens of what he has been through in his life. This man does not know the normal way to live or be a person. And his experiences have been very traumatic. Watching clips of what he went through for 8 years as a captive was very painful and uncomfortable. He saw everyone he cared about die in front on him. Then he now indirectly (self-blame) became the reason she lost a family she had begun to build again. And it happened in front of him again. YZJ does not use the best methods for interpersonal relationships because he does not know anything else. From his world view, this is the best thing for him to do. This is the only way to keep her safe and prevent her from feeling another painful loss.

Only if there was a way to parcel our tears to his house, we would have flooded him 😭
If only. Since he wants a river of tears, we could have delivered it to him lol.

I think the difference is... did the story make it clear from the beginning? Is the ending meaningful, highlighting…
Yes. It was obvious from the beginning and it fit very well.

Something must be wrong with me. Is it maturity? I can't believe I have started accepting some sad endings. First was Love of nirvana. I actually started this show sober, no delusions. I went through the whole thing with the belief that everyone would die, maybe except one single unknown person lol. I can't believe it. Maybe because the writing for both Love of Nirvana and FOF from the beginning, had a solid explanation about why the ending would make so much sense.

Li Lun didnot know that it was wen zhogyu who captured the demons 8 years ago....he realised only when zyz told…
I know. But their plans involved hurting demons. Almost all of which died.

Title Fangs of Fortune Spoiler
Guys just look at Wen Zhongyu. His rage is understandable. He lost his wife and his unborn child because of a demon. And the demon did it in such a cruel way.

If you do not understand or pity him, then I have no idea why Li Lun is to be pitied. He chose his path sober, by himself. Killed so many innocent and uninvolved people. Was plotting mass murder and catastrophe on the world. He says he has a heart for demons but did not care about the lesser demons his plan was going to endanger or the ones that wanted the tranquility of the wilderness, that his plan would deprive them of. And he partnered with Wen Zhongyu, someone that captured and tortured demons. How traumatic was his experience really? Did he go through as much as Zhu Yan has gone through? We say that he is very upset because of the broken bond between him and Zhu Yan, but he was the one that caused it. He chose it even when confronted. If you are still torn, remember that he is currently in the body of a 13 year old boy. He sentenced him to death immediately he thought of doing that and acted on it. He is neither misunderstood nor a victim.

Yes, I'm one who finds that noble idiocy annoying in general. In this case, YZJ doesn't give her a choice, and…
This will be part of his development and growth. Unfortunately they have to go through this to get there.

at this point, we can’t even call him a villain. he’s just a pitiful guy that needed someone to save him.
He has killed so many humans and demons and partnered with that three faced evil guy to commit atrocities. And he did all of it sober. He chose his path and he needs to bear the consequences. I feel sorry for his past, but not for his present at all. He has had no shortage of chances to choose right. I can't even get past how he currently has a 13 year old boy possessed, sentencing him to certain death. No matter how sad he looks when he takes emotional hits, I can't feel sorry for him. And if he eventually changes course a bit later, I would just think FINALLY! One antagonist down. Hurry and pay for your sins.

I really like the realisation Duanwu came to in ep 28 preview because it is true. She went too big too fast. She actually overestimated herself and put herself in the line of fire where she could easily get hurt. Yangzhou is a very different ball game from some other smaller places. She is like a shrimp without support in shark infested waters.
I hope she plans better and succeeds in her 2nd attempt and gains a proper foothold in this place.

Did we forget how many people that died because of him? He did not lose control of his body or consciousness. He willingly killed them. It is somehow like pitying Wen Zhongyu.

I actually felt more sorry for him than DW. He watched his whole convoy being killed in front of him and he was…
I need the cure for his poisoning and for him to get all the people involved in the plot against his family. I don't care about the groveling.

that was me and it was sarcasm. I'm sorryI know they werent loyal to the novel. I thought at that time there will…
I didn't mean to make you apologise. I wasn't upset at anyone, except the people that wrote that into the script lol. Watching that was so terrible. I had already anticipated a happy ending, I could not believe what I was seeing with my eyes.

This "noble idiocy" seems to be annoying for many people. I find that usually, I hate this trope with all my heart, but for some reason, I don't hate it here? Like I'm just going along with the story and focused on the journey of the characters. But even then, it's interesting that it does not bother me lol.

Anyway, YZJ has watched all his loved ones, except his sister, die in front of him. Then he had a front row seat as the same happened to Duan Wu, except for her mother, just when they had hope for a better life together. He unfortunately found hope, after living without it for 16 dark years and it was very cruelly and bloodily snatched away from him and the woman he loves. I completely understand why he does not want to put her in the same position again. At this point, if she still loves him, she is going to have to watch him slowly and painfully die in a very short time. Do you know how painful it is to lose a spouse or a lover you planned a future with? That is a mountain of pain he would not like to add to the mountain of pain and loss already on her. For someone like him, he can't bring himself to do it at the moment.
