There’s to many characters. Although I would love to watch the neighbors in a BL, they don’t fit into the…
@Ashley Aqui I agree with you on the neighbors. Their presence in the show is an eyesore (I barely support the doc and Champ already). Too many gay couples would make any show insipid and unrealistic. I don't know any gay couple in my close neighborhood. Gay people aren't sectarian, we don't necessarily hang out with other gays, we can have straight friends... but those Thai shows (with rare exceptions) usually take the matter too far with homosexuality. * I didn't notice for Mew though.
Is it an Asian culture thing where they can't just report their boss to the higher ups and report him for being…
I lived in Japan for a very long time and I know a bit about other Asian countries (mainly China and Korea, I can't tell if it's the same in Thailand). The authority is no joke there, it takes A LOT of nerve for an employee or a subordinate to stand up to their superior/employer as it's considered shameful in these cultures to oppose an order or an advice coming from someone who's supposed to be wiser/older. That tradition of total respect for the hierarchy is prize-worthy but a lot of issues are noticed at the same time as a lot of mistakes/abuse are committed and silenced by employees for fear of reprisals and being the target of the society/colleagues. Things change lately but they change slowly, to contradict your superior is still a big deal there. Even when they know they're right, people keep silent.
So I've been thinking, maybe Fiat really does love Leo. When he's crying on the stairs when Leo kicked him out,…
I think he goes after guys to make Leo react. Not necessarily to make him jealous (since he seems to be oblivious of the dude's feelings) but to preoccupy him and keep his attention on him. As long as Leo's attention would be on him, he'd deal with his supposedly "unrequited" love just fine.
thank you for that comment now i know im not gonna watch it, you saved my time
There's no rape and no attempt at it. The story-line just lives up to the title. The lead is obsessed with the MC, he'd do anything to get him but he can't go so far as to hurt him. I'm gay and I'm a medic, I'm not a psychiatrist (obsessive-compulsive disorders are treated in psychiatry) but I saw enough rape cases involving the gay community in my career and life to tell the difference. I think you can watch it peacefully, no need to see too much into it, there's no rape intention.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry. I'm so happy that Kao gets a main role and want to watch him play again.... but I hate the plot so much, I can't bring myself to have any sort of interest for it. Hard times are awaiting, certainly!
I have a Question: Somebody Told "These Stories are Only "Fiction" And The real world of a Gay Person It's Only…
I feel sorry for that person. Not having a chance to meet someone special, falling in love with them and building a long-term relationship must be tough for them. I understand the feeling and the situation, and get the causes of such reasoning; it's not easy for gays to have what straight people have, not when they live in "enemy territory" and not when they are deep in the closet... it ain't easy either when they look for the one in the wrong places. So, yeah... a lot of gay guys are unhappy and lonely... and sometimes they fall in love and end up ditched and betrayed because the other one doesn't believe in gay love either. But it ain't always the case. When we're lucky, our love life is as normal as straight people's. Not everything is colorful with rainbows everywhere, we go through ups and downs, we have our doubts, our unreachable targets, .. but we meet our special someone sometimes, we fall in love, we make it possible, we build our future piece by piece... and, when luck is on our side, we get married and have our happily ever after. I didn't get the HEA personally but I know unconditional love, I know that two men can burn for each other, I know that love can be genuine and selfless between two guys, I know that I am not the only guy who felt and lived what I felt and lived, I know other gays who love and are loved... I also know some that are lonely and heartbroken... straight guys in that situation as well. So, generalizing ain't good. We are no different from straight people, sex and cheating aren't solely restricted to gay people, straight people have their dark shades as well. Fiction ain't always different from reality. The person just has to make a difference between BL and gay shows. BLs are indeed a tad too fictional and, sometimes, insulting even, to us, but gay shows are most of the time very realistic.
May I suggest reading die Leiden des jungen Werthers instead? More appropriate for someone whose life is full…
Goethe is the nec plus ultra of the "rightwinged" German literature and his works are, indeed, a good suggestion, I read his poetry but never considered reading his novels; they never appealed to me as a man, but I will definitely consider reading this one. Thanks!
I doubt it's you, with the 8.0 rating, many people seem to think that way. Comedy is always hit or miss though.…
Ratings here mean nothing. Some of my favorite movies and dramas have 5 to 7 stars ratings. As for the show in itself, I hated the first scene at first sight. I didn't find the humor entertaining, it was of a very bad taste and unnatural. It felt forced. I don't like the character of Chonlatee either although I'm going through a similar situation myself. I liked his supportive and witty mom, but other than this, and Podd's smile, nothing was fascinating enough to push me to watch past the 1st part of the 3rd episode. GMMTV did never know how to please me in fact, that's the problem.
I think the current rating value displayed is because of the rating given to the 1st and 2nd episodes. You can…
I'm not dumb. My interrogation is: Who would model the rating of one episode on a whole series? Do they see into the future and know that the whole episodes would be of an equal quality to the first? Of course not. I'm just appalled 'cause those practices do more wrong than good to the shows on MDL. I guess, people here don't see further than the words.
Very unimpressed by this show. As a gay man whose life is full of drama, I can't identify with the characters at all. The plot is way too far-fetched, it reminds me of Thai BL dramas of a few years ago. They weren't terrible back then, but I expect better now. It's a good show for teens and whoever else wants to take it easy and watch some funny/lighthearted dramas... but, I guess, the pandemic embittered me... I've lost my sense of humor. Podd is handsome, he's the only reason why I'll probably watch more episodes in the future.
As a doctor myself, I'm waiting for this with open arms. I can't wait to watch it and see how things turn out when a main character is a doctor in a Thai drama. In TWM: TNC they made the doc a "pervert", in TharnType 2 the plot is shallow, and... My Ride... I am just not interested in the show, the cast is awful (but the novel is wonderful). So, all my hopes go for this one.
