Assuming that the story here is cliché is a bit exaggerated here. The movie was released in 2005. I am pretty sure those clichés you refer to were nowhere to be found back then. While judging, all the variables should be put on the table. You can't compare a 2005 show in a 2016 cinematographic market..

I read the novel and I regretted it. It's by far the worst Thai BL novel I ever read, I don't know how they considered adapting such trash as a series even. For extra translated novels, you can look on Wattpad, there are plenty of them!
I read there would be a movie version instead of a full second season... but it's been over a year ago and with the pandemic a lot of projects flew apart already.
My future rating for this series dropped from 6/10 to 4/10 in this 12th episode, and it may drop down to 1/10 if a miracle doesn't happen in the last one. But, with the preview we've got, I think a miracle is very unlikely.
It's delightfully saddening to see that everything I said six or seven episodes ago is clearer to some hardcore fans who didn't want to see reason at first. Yes there is no chemistry, yes the storyline is chopped, yes there is no genuine development, yes there are loopholes and editing mistakes, yes the acting isn't on point... yes, this series isn't as good as you believed. I considered rating it 6/10, but, if the remaining episodes don't upgrade the level, my rating will be lower. "Cute" actors mean nothing to me when the script fails to keep me interested.

Good luck, this is all I can tell you because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't watch past the 9th episode, I was way too confused. The first 3 or 4 episodes were great, but after that it went down the drain, as if the screenwriter abandoned the job and left a child write the remaining episodes. The whole mess gave me a headache lol
This series is getting worse than I expected. Indeed, with all the pointless extra scenes added in the previous episodes, they can only run out of time for a genuine story development. Once again, they bit more than they could chew!
