Um...yes you can and its concerning that you can't tell the difference between a barely teenaged BOY and a FULL…
@Itoldsunsetaboutmystar Concerning? What part of it do you find concerning? I think it's more concerning to see people who don't respect others' opinions.
Actually the kid is a good actor since I have seen him act since he was very young and he portrays his characters…
Honestly I'd prefer a Taiwanese remake for the cultural similarities and the better understanding of the original novel, but Korean or Japanese remakes would be great too. Japan is good at remaking things, if only to mention one, I've still a great memory of the remake of Hana Kimi into the iconic "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e"
Not gonna happen. I learned (below) that it was cancelled. But there's gonna be a Thai adaptation. I hope it won't…
My sentiment exactly. Age-gap aside, if the 16y.o could play the young version of Bai Luo Yin, there's no way he'd fit in the "8 years later" part of the script. Moreover BLY is older than Gu Hai, so the Thai choice is just... incomprehensible!
I didn't hate this series at all but I gotta say that I don't like it nearly as much as everyone else. I agree…
@Laimie You aren't boring, you're just different, you've got a good taste and a personality of your own... and that boring people don't like it. "I Told Sunset About You" is a good series, I didn't get around to watching the whole thing but I loved what I watched so far. As for KinnPorsche, it sucked from Episode 1 but apparently the mature scenes clouded some people's judgement!
It's a BL show that had to be refilmed on a new budget...or were you looking for Dicovery documentary on Mafia?
@Angelique94 You've got an answer for everything, everyone's a silver-tongued emperor behind a screen. But, back on topic, when you brand/tag a drama or movie in the Action and Crime genres, the least you can expect is to find the main benchmarks of these genres in said drama or said movie. It's not about expectations, it's about getting what's been announced and promised. It's about a contract that hasn't been fulfilled. As for BL, there's absolutely nothing you can teach me about it. I know exactly what it is and what it's worth.
i thought i would have enjoyed it a lot more but it just didn't click with me like i wanted it to tbh - i still…
Not gonna happen. I learned (below) that it was cancelled. But there's gonna be a Thai adaptation. I hope it won't be a disaster but I have little expectations 😒
Great! Counterattack was botched, Addicted banned, Advance Bravely ruined, and now Stay With Me is plainly cancelled... Speak of a surprise, I shouldn't have been surprised! Thanks for the update. At least now I know there's no point in waiting for the sequel..👀
Turned out not as good as some claims it to be. The storyline was rather unoriginal, the acting not the best performances I've seen in Taiwanese dramas and the fights scenes were definitely not convincing. Added to it, the side story was pointless.
Actually the kid is a good actor since I have seen him act since he was very young and he portrays his characters…
It would be hypocritical of me to complain about the age gap, I've got no issues with age difference in relationships, but the time frame of Addicted (the novel) spans more than eight years. If the chosen actor can portray the young Thai version of Bai Luo Yin as a high-schooler, I'm not sure he's up to the "eight years later" part. Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin in the original work are the same age, Yinzi is a few days older than Gu Hai even... the actors have to be the same age (or look the same age) to interpret the characters perfectly. The producer's choice means only one thing: the story will probably be changed, which is sad. It was banned in China, so I was hoping for a faithful foreign adaptation, hence my skepticism.
I like coming back to read the comments and reviews on these overrated, groundless storylines. Too much drama around this series and yet it was obvious from day one that it would be a disaster. Happy return to reality, guys!
With all the reboots being done lately, I hope this one will be remade outside of China.. or even in China, as long as it'll have a genuine development and acceptable ending. It's still my biggest disappointment. One of my favorite novels ruined on screen..
Sounds promising. Psychiatry and tragedy are two fields that tickle my interest, blended together I can only approve. I hope the acting will be on point. With Chai Ji Dan as a screenwriter, I have no doubt that the storyline will be well written.
I've got no issue with the age difference and Asians look younger than their age anyway. Sometimes, you can't tell if someone is 15 or 30.
