I grew up in Japan and I can't tell how many mangas I read and dramas I watched with this exact same intrigue. The characters' personalities are just too plain and common.
There are some awesome Japanese Y/A fictions, but this one is not one of them...not for me.
But.. if you're new to this, you may like it!

Still my favorite HIStory story [followed by Close to You... and Right or Wrong]. I hope they'll make more stories like this one in the future with strong-willed male leads, handsome actors and entertaining storylines!

I just re-watched both seasons and the wave of nostalgia hit me really hard. But I'm always happy with the denouement. Enough with heartbreaks.

I watched Boys Love 1 and Boys Love 2 over a decade ago, but this one is invariably my favorite story out of the two.

Still my favorite script in an Asian gay series. I don't know if I like the storyline more than any other because I've been in one of the characters' shoes once... made his mistakes and felt his emotions... or just because of the criticism.

Generally, when a show inspires too much antagonism and controversy, it can only mean one thing; it's very good. And people don't like being reminded of the realities of life, they feed on fairytales... hence all the drama around this very well written and very realistic series.

Ratings should be based on technical and objective variables, not be randomly thrashed by the viewers' mood swings and backgrounds. It's obvious on most of dedicated websites, the overrated series are rarely worth it and the best seldom get the highest ratings.

I've given it my best rating for the script, the visual effects, the cast and the life lessons behind the storyline.

Why on Earth did I rate this series 3/10 in 2021? I rewatched it and I liked every aspect of the storyline... minus the fujoshis albeit they're the instigators of the intrigue.
I'm particularly fond of Fu Yong Jie, however. I know a lot of people think he's dislikable, but I think he's adorable. I love it when a man knows what he wants and goes for it..

Putting your nose in conversations and calling people jerks is fine, maybe?
If I think this guy is a promising model but an unskilled actor... I'll just say it. Criticism is what makes people grow socially as well as emotionally. I never attacked anyone in regard to their person and private life.. I'm not a sociopath. If I share my opinion on an actor's acting abilities on a website created for that purpose, it's my right and I did nothing wrong. I'm not like you, I don't attack people in comments. As you can see, it took me two years to see your comment... because while you were here attacking me, I was building my future. I'm a happy and successful man, I have no reason to envy people or be rude to strangers in comments to spend the time.

I just rewatched this movie and I'm... no words.
The first time I watched it was over a decade ago, it was with someone special who is no longer from this world.
Rewatching Ai No Kotodama was just like reopening Pandora's box all over again. Sweet and heartbreaking but still worth it. Still in my top 5 favorite Japanese movies.

I took an oath years ago that I'd never rewatch this movie. I'm just back to say that I never betrayed the promise I made to myself. Just so you know the impact this movie can have on someone. It was like a strong vaccine, there's no going back to it.

Still my favorite Thai series after all these years. I don't know if another show will ever surpass it.

Stupid ending. I recommend that you watch the 4 episodes and skip the last 15 minutes. And even if you watch till the end you'll just be confused like everyone who did.

I've been away for too long but I'll reply anyway. The grave belongs to Xia Yao, or another version of him. The scene was used to get Chinese government approval for the release of the series. Supposing that everything that happened was due to Yuan Zong reminiscing a friend he'd lost in the military. [That's the info I read left and right, the scene is nowhere in the novel].

Not for me. My gay self feels insulted.

Ignored this one for months. Some reviews are way too optimistic and some others way too hostile to this show.
As the saying goes, to each his own. Gonna watch one episode and decide weather it's a "Bravo!" or a "Fiasco!" for this one.

Spoiler Alert:
Xia Yao visits the worker he saved from the well and comes face to face with his nightmare. Han Dong, the guy with girlish legs who tricked him eight years earlier.

He's scared of his sharp-eyed, witty mom who has nothing better to do than investigating every facet of his life.
Xia Yao's education was strict and he wasn't as pampered as Xuan Da Yu. He's rich but his prestigious family background is what stands out. His family's wealth can't be valued with money.

Took me 3 minutes to drop it. Not gonna waste any of my time on a show that has a terrible opening like this one.

Cheating? That's a poor way to describe this drama, but I'm not surprised. People nowadays are so miserable that they only stick to fairytales. As soon as a show is realistic, intense and lesson-teaching, it becomes an aberration. Yan Fei cheated on his boyfriend indeed, but Jimmy is also a cheater, he wasn't some innocent guy. As for Hai Qing, he was conflicted from day one. If he did know that he would meet Yan Fei again, he would have never dated Pin Jun. The fact that he broke up with his boyfriend to be with Yan Fei is the best thing that happened to Pin Jun, he was given an opportunity to move on and find someone who would love him the way he deserves.
You can't fight back love, you will cheat and do worse things for the person you love. This world is a dreary place, it would be a real mistake to give up on the one you desire for the sake of social dogmas and morality.
This drama teaches us a priceless lesson: Love comes with a price.

I had the misfortune of watching the ending by accident, I won't gonna be able to watch it now that all suspense is lost.
A special mention for the cast and the acting, however.
