Thanks. That's what I thought, but I visited Desire's MDL page, and the country of origin is listed as China, which threw me off. So, I thought I'd ask and find out. I've been hoping for OG in that early to mid July spot. Looks like international viewers will get to see both.

BL drama Desire will air in 10 days. I hope they air something else. But, it's Youku, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Great review. I enjoyed most of the show, but the ending let it down. Too much time devoted to Leopard and not enough given to ZGH. He essentially was the final boss that wasn't. Very anticlimactic. They simply didn't leave enough time to execute a dramatic final opponent showdown and a wrap up with happy endings for the main cast. The rushed nature of the ending came at the expense of ZGH.

All done. Really enjoyed the show overall. But, the end felt somewhat rushed and flat. Let's just say the final boss man was a little, ah, anticlimactic.

Yes, of course, his beautiful deep voice and speaking ability (singing, too). He uses his own voice in dramas and is never dubbed. He also has the perfect voice for narration and live presentations / productions.

I guess it's just the nature of the beast. Showbiz can be cruel and irrational. People will criticise and try to tear you down for various reasons, no matter how well you do. In many cases, they seem to be doing it to prop up their own favourites. Perhaps they feel threatened by a talented up-and-comer. 

As long as he avoids career-derailing scandals, I really think he will be fine. He's a great combination of looks and talent. And, as for the early complaints about his body being scrawny, he now has one of the best physiques in c-ent at the age of 23. Only a small handful can compare (I bet those who criticised feel a little foolish now).  

I'm not surprised CCTV loves him. I remember there was a push for a better masculine representation in entertainment. He fits the bill perfectly. I'm also not surprised he catches the eye of foreign fans. He has great bone structure, and is the definition of a handsome leading man. Paired with his big personality, he has an air of confidence about him that's hypermasculine. There are often two types of good-looking men in entertainment that international audiences are familiar with. The ruggedly handsome type that oozes masculine energy, and the pretty boy kind who possesses a touch of the feminine. They're typically suited to different roles. There's more versatility in the first look because it is easier to make someone look softer and more gentle than it is to make them look fiercer and more authoritative.

Yes, this has been such an informative discussion. I've learned so much. I wouldn't worry too much. His rise has been rapid. That always attracts those who will want to knock him down. He's charismatic both on and off the screen. Constantly off on an adventure. So, his social media presence is always fun to follow. And, his performances speak for themselves. I actually think these post-2000s c-ent kids are a special bunch, they have loads of talent and the ability to be much better than the previous generations.

Agreed. Ancy is so lovely. But, I still want to see Mai Mai as his leading lady, too. I'm not satisfied with her only being his sister.

Oh, I've seen that bathrobe clip at the bottom attached to a larger sequence where he's jogging to the trailer in a white singlet and shorts dripping wet from the river scenes. Let's just say, ah, he's ripped 💪.

It's interesting because we are having a discussion on the WXY page about c-ent fan wars and general social media mischief / troublemaking. I learned his body was criticised for being too thin / scrawny in First Love, an early rom-com he made while still growing up. Well, he's come a long way, and now he has one of the best physiques in Cdrama. This is what I was alluding to by saying he brings a real physicality to the screen. Paired with his good looks, he's actually extremely fit, athletic, and strong. Add in the acting talent and deep voice, and you have a great package for a leading man. He really looks the part for anything involving action, adventure, martial arts, warfare, outdoor / physical activity, and rugged romance.
